The CIA asked the Mexican police to arrest and interrogate a Mexican citizen who worked at the Mexico City Cuban consulate. She was tortured by Mexican police on behalf of the CIA. Promises were made that this ugly chapter in US-Mexican relations would be kept secret.
@LBNLDC1 Of course years later, her memory jogged, and incentivized by conspiracy author Anthony Summers, Sylvia Duran became confused, and wavered on her identification of Oswald. That's the only "torture" she ever underwent, to speak of... Bonus fact: Duran's name and the consulate' phone number were found on a piece of paper among Oswald's possessions after his arrest.

Sylvia Duran denied to the HSCA that she had any affair with Oswald; and denied that the Mexican authorities beat a false confession out of her, or beat her period. However, she did confirm that the day after the assassination, the Mexican authorities placed her under arrest and she physically resisted them. After grilling her, they let her go but returned the following Wednesday and held her in custody for two and a half days. During both grillings they accused her of being a Communist (she denied it, saying she was a socialist). . (3 HSCA 81-82, 84, 86, 89-91 Some "torture," eh? And note: the CIA was not involved.
Very interesting video, congratulations! I discovered a book in French which is unfortunately not translated but well illustrated and which provides irrefutable proof of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy! It was published this year, if you are lucky enough to get it, you will find plenty of answers to the questions asked in the title of the book: "JFK 60 ANS DE MENSONGES" (JFK YEARS OF LIES). Thank you for this video which shows the difficulty with the testimonies of witnesses! Over time, the versions are less precise and less clear and sometimes contradictory!
@@jacobjones5269 I am 72 I remember Fitz holding it up and pointing to the Mauser label as he said it. I had no reason to talk myself into a false memory because I others saw it too. A long sleepless weekend for a 10 year old and his sister.
I’ve seen you post a flurry of indignant comments on these series of interviews regarding JFK with Morley and the lack of evidence presented. I’m genuinely curious why you feel so strongly on this point when there is clear evidence of lying and obfuscation on the CIA’s part. While I understand the forensics and ballistics of the crime certainly strongly link Oswald to the shooting, (and frankly I think that’s a dumb thing to focus on for the conspiracy minded) do you find Oswald’s strong links to intelligence compelling in the slightest? The evidence is clear the CIA lied to the Warren Commission about how closely they monitored Oswald and for how long. They read this guy’s mail for four years. He was smoothly allowed back into the US after loudly declaring he’d tell U2 spy plane secrets to the Russians at the height of the Cold War. Their own records back this up. We also now know George Joannides, a CIA officer in Miami charged with financing and directing the DRE, the group which had direct contact with Oswald prior to the assassination, was the agency’s hand picked liaison to the house select committee on assassinations as it pertained to Kennedy’s assassination. He of course didn’t disclose his connection to the Kennedy assassination to congressional investigators either. If it’s so obvious that Oswald came out of nowhere and did it alone, why do you think two presidents and multiple CIA directors have kicked the can of full record disclosure down the road?
@stddisclaimer8020 the CIA told the Warren Commission that they had very limited information about Oswald pre-assassination, despite his defection (a lie based on the public record now). They all but told the WC he came out of nowhere to assassinate the president based upon their knowledge of him. The DRE was getting upwards of 50k a month in the early 60s from the CIA and Joannides was literally the case officer in charge of directing the DRE. I’m not sure how that qualifies as “indirect” to you. It’s only icing on the cake that Joannides happened to be the hand picked CIA liaison to the HSCA about the JFK murder 15 years later. If that isn’t at least eyebrow raising, I guess we just fundamentally see the world differently. It’s been over 60 years, the public interest outweighs the privacy of long dead spooks.
@stddisclaimer8020 we both agree that the DRE was a CIA asset in the 1960s and Joannides was their handler, correct? If so, then that means the CIA did have direct knowledge of Oswald pre-assassination and thus lied to the WC in 1963? It would also make their selection of Joannides for the HSCA liaison contempt of congress after he stonewalled the committee for information they were trying to get.
@stddisclaimer8020 I’ve never said that they personally met? And I also never said the DRE killed JFK? My original comment says I believe LHO killed jfk lol. It’s entirely relevant that these CIA groups keep obfuscating their contacts with and knowledge of Oswald before the assassination while simultaneously delaying disclosure to this day. We know now that they lied about how much they knew about Oswald! That’s the public record now. Why defend their 60 year secrecy? You don’t think their continued secrecy fuels speculation about their potential wrongdoing?

When a Mowzer Rifle turns magically into a Manlicker overnight..🙄..somebody’s lying!
There’s video of the rifle being recovered and it was Oswald’s rifle..
Same nonsense, over and over.. Smh..

Dude, there’s video of the rifle being recovered and it’s Oswald’s rifle.. You’re wrong..
No Mauser was ever found, cops admitted they misidentified the rifle at first and this was all cleared up pretty quickly, big deal.
@@donofon1014 That's right: somebody left the wrong kind of rifle lying around the crime scene for an army of police to swiftly find...
Well, perhaps the actual evidence in this case is being saved for some future podcast, then...
