Garage is on our list! I know your version of "a lot of stuff" is different than for others. But I can see how even with a garage that's mostly empty - the random items on the perimeter could be stressful and annoying. Good job! 😊
@@simply.clutterfree Yes, it is very different for everyone! I know many people have garages so full they can't park. We have tried hard not to get to that point, but I know people do it because they don't have space inside their home. It's a hard balance!

I like how you think out loud while you go thru things. You made good progress. I wouldn't throw out the blue metal water bottle; those keep your water cold for hours, and a few small dents won't affect that.
If you get storage on the wall, it will give you room for your car doors to swing open. I look forward to seeing what you choose.

It's been so hot I'm impressed you did this mid day! I just did mine early in the morning to avoid the crazy heat.
I did this portion of the work back in May and we actually had very mild weather. It was nice! But now it’s hot so I’m glad I got most of the work done when it wasn’t so hot!

I love your videos. I wish I could toss electronics in my garbage. Our city considers them e-waste so we have to take them to the recycling center. It’s free but it really stalls the process when you have to plan a trip to drop it all off. So it’s sits in my house until I have enough to warrant a trip. 😂
I did make a pile of the big batteries and took them to the recycling center, which is at our city dump! It was convenient since we had a huge trailer full of stuff to take to the dump!

Wow - you throw away a lot of stuff that can be repurposed/recycled or donated. Americans are so incredibly wasteful.
I actually donate or recycle everything that I can. 🤷🏻♀️
When I look at your garage, it made me laugh 😂. Our garage holds our cars, lawn mowers, a tractor, wood beams, and especially my husband's Piper Cub plane, but there is so much junk that it would take a lot of time to declutter and my husband doesn't see it as a priority, but it stresses me out. Plus we have a small shed that holds who knows what. During a heavy wind storm it was pushed off the cement blocks that held it off the ground, so besides being decluttered it needs to be have the foundation. Like I said my husband doesn't want me to clean it out. Ugh! It exasperated me. I would love to see what you do with your shed. Thanks for sharing your decluttering process.😊
Yeah garages have a huge variety of sizes and what goes in them! Haha. Our family has property in Alaska and we have most of that stuff in those garages/sheds. My shed out back holds the lawn mower and trimmer and all the yard tools.

I have been decluttering my garage in the last year and a half. My husband helps me now. We do 20 minutes each Sunday when we're free. It's made such a difference. We stop when we start feeling overwhelmed.
My main aim is firstly to declutter items that we really don't need or use and secondly to reduce and condence items into better storage. I know and expect that I'll be doing at least another 2 passes in the garage as we have too much stuff in there! It's a long-term project, but i will get there.

We have a detached garage in the back corner of our yard and it's my partner's domain. Yes, it's junky as hell and he wants me to help him clean up his mess but it triggers my allergies when I'm in there for more than a few minutes. Anyhow, I'm too busy decluttering and cleaning up inside the house because my daughter is moving back home in a few days! She made me a Mother's Day card with a lovely message of appreciation inside too because she found out how difficult it was to take care of herself and an apartment for the past couple of years.

For your lawn chairs. Find a huge piece of pvc pipe that they will fit through. Then cut several pieces and attach them to the wall. Then place chairs through the pvc hangers.

I love how throughly you went through it all with us together. I would love to see you go throughly your shed. It bows my mind how many different sports you mentioned you guys playing in one video, I never really did any sports as a kid 😅 and the card your daughter gave you was so touching! ❤
So we actually don’t really play those sports! Maybe I wasn’t clear. Our boys play soccer and one plays golf. But that’s about it! We have basketballs to just play in our driveway with. Oh I guess we play pickleball sometimes, too. Hahaha.

You mentioned you wanted to get a new bigger tool chest for your hubby. If you don't know what to do with the old one how about putting it in your shed and using it as your gardening storage? Or even leave it in the garage with your gardening stuff in it???? All the chairs and that all look the same shape and size. They use to have these caddies for rakes and shovels for the garage how about using something like that to put the chairs and stuff in. It is sectioned off for each rake or shovel would work great. Home Depot, Walmart, places like that would have them and they are inexpensive.
Stalwart Rolling Garden Tool Storage Rack Tower Green..... this is to give you an idea of what I am talking about. You will need to pick out the size and brand that will work for you. So many out there to choose from.
Yes! We actually figured that out about the tool chest. It’s all empty and ready to be put in the shed! I just have to declutter and organize it first so it can fit. Haha. I did find a really great solution to the chairs. I did consider your idea though. Thanks!

I miss bagged vacuums ...now as house keepers you have to have a vacuum per house or use the individual houses vacuum or wash and dry every filter and plastic piece to the vacuum after every house
