I was so happy that I found this deal for used pc that is normal 1.5k(1.7k with taxes) new, and the guy happily sold it to me. Thank you for inspiring me in my pursuit of the grind.
I have one of these boards and gotta say, if you have the money and you're looking for a keyboard that really performs, invest in this one. The look, feel, and performance are top-of-the-line.
The prices of this keyboard though is surely now pushing the boundaries of what's acceptable? Maybe not, but I for one, just couldn't justify this kinda of expenditure on a keyboard... then again, I'm still running my years old Merc Stealth beasty!!! Never missed a beat in god knows how many years I've had this thing? Think I bought it in 2010... wow...
there are other optical switches where you can actually adjust the actuation point so you don't lose accuracy. if corsair included that in the hardware and the software, you could actually adjust it at a touch of a button and viola, gaming mode and typing mode profiles.
I will always have more money than braincells despite being in the MENSA society Hu because I'm filthy rich, I roll cigars in money, stay mad poor fig.
Even my custom mech with aftermarket SA style PBT keycaps isn't much more than that.. This is insane for just a regular keyboard that you can buy from any pc component shop IMO.
@@Tsunami1991 That's a custom though, this is just an out of the box keyboard from a big name brand that you can get from any big box pc store. This is an insane price for a normal keyboard imo.
Apparently the main reason for why this KB is so fast and possibly still faster than the Razer Huntsman V2 with gen2 switches, is the AXON processor they use on it that scans the keys more often. They also use this processor inside the M65 Ultra. The fact that other companies don't lose a single word on what kind of processor they use in their peripherals makes me suspect it can't be great, so they focus on other metrics that are cheaper to crank up and produce more publicity hype.
Could you test this keyboard against the steelseries apex pro and Razer huntsman? Those are supposedly the fastest keyboards on the market for gamers, at least at the moment. Great vid as always!
keyboard more expensive than GPU XD truly the gaming industry went down hill to the trash. any 'brand' company could add some shiny RGB lighting to any bs then slap an insane amount of $$ on it and the idiots will still buy the shit LOL just think about it, $380 for a keyboard.... A FUCKING KEYBOARD! XD
I dont feel this is a huge improvement for me over my Corsair Strafe. Im not a pro gamer, I dont need an ique scroll wheel. I dont know why on earth anyone would pay that much, thats custom keyboard territory right there!
Such a shame they didn't offer variable actuation on these switches. Analog feedback is one of the few true advantages of an optical switch (eg the harder you press your W key the harder you are pressing the accelerator pedal in your driving game, just like on a controller with right trigger). The other advantage is being able to set your preferred actuation height. Sad miss on both counts.
I just got this keyboard and I have to tell you. I can notice a difference in Rocket League vs my K70 Cherry Silents. The keyboard is definitely faster and the linear switches are amazing. It is expensive but well worth it.
the low latency on this keyboard is not because of the USB polling rate or the high actuation point, it's mostly because of the internal matrix scan rate of the keyboard being so high. They're able to set it so high because optical switches have near 0 debounce time compared to traditional mechanical switches, so they can read a clear signal from them almost instantly. Most 1000hz USB poll-rate keyboards will still have an internal matrix scan rate of 125hz due to the debounce time of 5ms that most switches have.
I would have bought a corsair keyboard but my pc is a white build and corsair had nothing i liked so i went and did something different got a ibm branded beige ps2 keyboard from ebay dismantled cleaned and spray painted it white looks perfect ,in over 20 years of pc gaming i have never owned a gaming keyboard always just used a generic branded office keyboard never felt i was at any disadvantage ,a gaming mouse i find more important later on i might get a mechanical keyboard ,
Picking up one of these today. Been using a $50 kogan otemu red keyboard and decided I want a premium keyboard. And my typing is ass anyway so mostly gaming.
Looks like the 60 dollar Red Dragon K580 Vata (104 brown switch) that I bought in AliExpress and use at my work office. For the home office, I prefer the $60 Tecware Phantom (104 blue switch). Given the quality of both of these Mechanical Keyboards, I would never spend that kind of money on a keyboard. Rather, I would spend the extra dollars on an GPU upgrade. Of course, I am not much of a gamer.
I would really like if there were touch screen keyboards that have the touch less gesture feature built into them similar to a Samsung smart phone so that moving the tip of your finger over the key registers as an input without pressing or touching the screen. would be weird to get used to typing with something like that. Just a normal type writer in cyber city.
God, if they had a blue switch version of this keyboard, I wouldnt even be thinking about it, im just not sure how much im going to actually enjoy the switches
I’d have to turn that polling rate down to 125 to play old versions of Minecraft if I got one of those. Either way, I’m happy with my Steelseries M750 mech keyboard. Basic for a mech keyboard but it works.
$220 usd is a lot for a keyboard tho. I would meaybe consider if it was wireless, without all the rgb. And opto-mechanical keyboards are just weird feeling for me.
I want this keyboard but can't get around the giant cyclops eyeball. Who would ever add a circle to something that is nothing but squares? Theres nothing to balance that it looks horrible.
No, however what they will notice is the reduction of input lag from having the optical switches. And no debounce delay. Which is most likely the reason why it has such low input lag, its not because of the polling rate.
You must have chosen a shitty keyboard then. This isn't a common problem at all that I've seen or heard of at all with decent keyboards, especially highend. I personally have had my K95 RGB Plat for over 3 years and the LEDs haven't died or dimmed.
Based on what I hear in the sound test I wouldn't say that keyboard sounds "good"... It sounds pretty bad, as is usual for Corsair and many other gaming brands. The whole thing sounds rattly, pingy and hollow. For pre-built boards, try Ducky, Varmillo, Leopold, iKBC or Durgod. You'll generally pay less than Corsair's outrageous prices too.
Be aware, the keycaps have tendencies to break after a year of "gaming" usage. Because of their very high profile and lack of reinforcements. They are guarantee but they will break one by one.

The actuation distance is making the most difference. That keyboard sounds like marbles falling down a metal stair case. Heavy rain on a tin roof. Trash sounding typing test. I avoid Corsair at all cost. No I am not a Razor fan either.
Personally I think it looks and sounds absolutely dreadful. For this money you could build a pretty decent custom keyboard. Also a full size gaming keyboard is an Oxymoron. Why waste so much desk space?
