I suppose one way to test whether the player really is a newbie moth is to go home and get them to walk through the sixth door, Vault. If they don't disappear, then they are real moths since they wouldn't have unlocked that map so soon.
I remember, when i add another moth, they always wanted to lead. At first I thought, meh it’s their first few days, let them have the lead. Until they started flying.
my first friend in Sky introduced him/herself as Potato from Japan. So until this day, I called him/her potato. We met in Forest if I'm not mistaken and s/he took me to collect every star at Forest and Valley. We stopped at Wasteland and teleported home and chatted. These days we don't play together at all as we both have found our go-to group of Sky friends (more like I did cus I was the new player etc and s/he already has his/hers) but I will never forget my first friend, Potato. :')

Actual moth will likely have atleast 2 wings if they in prairie because you need 2 star to reach 2 wings and on the way in island there are atleast 2 visible star in path and moth can't go to prairie unless they completed the isle Just chill bruh, it's not like i'm attacking you or anything

Moths collect the first wl that was in the tiny wrecked boat, and the next and the peak of this mountain rock sort of thing where you fly to the temple. that way they picked up 2 wls=2 wedges :)

That time I was taking a moth around, I went to collect candles under the floor at the end of the prairie and...I couldn't find the exit. Until the moth took me out ._.
I had a bad run at Eden and got rammed by a Krill twice, a couple of veterans befriended me and guided me all the way to the end, I think about them now and then and gift them hearts. They made my first time dying less scary haha

well im not that lucky. my friend brought me to eden in like ten minutes but left me there without telling me what i am supposed to do there. i cant tp back home cause i cant go back. and i went in. didnt light any stone statues and wasted all a hundred or so of my wings getting hit by the red rocks bah.
I recently took 3 moths through Eden. Two just friended me on entrance and I couldn’t let them alone. Since I only had two hands, the third moth was following us. But the third moth couldn’t make the last climb and was bogged somewhere down, fighting krill, panic and confusion. I flew down for him, friended him and got him up. Nice memory. Felt good.
I actually have a friend like dazai when i was moth. He help me until eden. We don't talk much but we use the 'call' as well to communicate I named him 'leo'. But idk maybe he's block me because i can't meet him anymore, he's not collecting my lit candle but i see he still change his clothes. Kinda miss him😭

And i think they cant likes your notes :( Oh and maybe.. if you still see them online, but they're never collect your candle and you can't light them, it might be they're just have over limits friends on their constellation. Because it have limit name to show they cant see your name sometimes
two older players found me a week after I started the game not knowing what it was exactly about and I'll forever be grateful. sky players are really nice and gentle. I just think this kind of things may stop people from actually helping others around, since I suppose it must be tiring dragging someone around to then find out it was all kinda useless. just my thought tho

When I was a moth, I was following this one player because he was going to where all the candles were and I needed them. (I had no clue about candle running.) And eventually he friended me and took me on candle run while showing me where all the winged lights were. He also helped me get the souls I really needed. He showed me new places too. His name was Lee and he was from Korea. He knew some english so we could talk pretty easily. I'll forever be thankful for him. And I even adopted my own moth a while ago and now she's all grown up 😭😭.

This reminds me of my embarrassing moth times 😅. When I first entered the game and made my first friend I didn't know she was not a NPC. So I dragged her the edge of the Isle map to see if I could get closer to the water (the barrier didn't let me tho). She then had to take the lead and when we got to Daylight Prairie I asked her tons of questions like "are you real" and " are you a NPC". Im now realizing that the moment she got up and left wasn't because she was being rude but because she didn't know English. I feel so dumb remembering back to those times now 😅😩🤦♀️

At 23:54, I'm kinda surprised Daizai didn't suspect that you are not a real newbie moth since your sky kid is taller than a moth player that always start at the same height like the other mothie in the small cave area. Also, it was quite cute that the mothie just started clapping at 24:02 haha XD.

I remember a noob wanted to be friends with me and wanted me to help them out in wasteland...i did but then they said now I can also cross wasteland without your help and now I'm the greatest (same as 25:54) and then when that person completed the game they didn't even talked to me after that, like seriously all they wanted me to help them out and then they blocked me-
It was the most unrealistic moth behaviour of all times. They didn’t try to lead; they didn’t make deep calls accidentally; they didn’t break free mid-flight to go in a totally wrong direction; they stood calmly and just waited with their lit candle by the 2-players door and in the 8-players chamber… like, they knew what they are doing and this is totally impossible when you’re new to the game. I remember myself being a moth few years ago and I swear I understood nothing.
This reminds me of once where a moth added me and somehow acted like they knew what they're doing, so i thought they just came out of eden and only brought them to light kids, but then they told me they were new after we missed a whole bunch of spirits

This is kinda unrelated But my first time through eye of eden was with ONE other moth. It was both our first time playing the game and we went from the isle all the way to eden together. We friended and dont play often but they are stil my favorite friend ever. I cried at the ending cutscene, and we held hands through the whole thing. We lost so much winged light, and the whole thing was a super emotional experience, because we thought we lost, I remember dying, after sacraficing myself to save them in the last moments. I felt dissapointed, as they slowed to a crawl and finally died too, but all that quickly turned to confusion and excitement. This game is great.

I thank my friend very much from here. We do not speak the same language, we do not use the same alphabet. But my friend helped me for finish the game.

And eventually he friended me and took me on candle run while showing me where all the winged lights were. He also helped me get the souls I really needed. He showed me new places too. His name was Lee and he was from Korea. He knew some english so we could talk pretty easily. I'll forever be thankful for him. And I even adopted my own moth a while ago and now she's all grown up 😭😭.

This reminds me of my embarrassing moth times 😅. When I first entered the game and made my first friend I didn't know she was not a NPC. So I dragged her the edge of the Isle map to see if I could get closer to the water (the barrier didn't let me tho). She then had to take the lead and when we got to Daylight Prairie I asked her tons of questions like "are you real" and " are you a NPC". Im now realizing that the moment she got up and left wasn't because she was being rude but because she didn't know English. I feel so dumb remembering back to those times now 😅😩🤦♀️

I speedrun through every realm except there cause I keep a watchful eye on the capes and predict if the person I’m seeing is a moth or not. I don’t like the idea of leaving moths alone in Wasteland. 🤧

After i added her/him as my friend using candle, s/he suddenly lead me to the spirits, and we didnt chat and in the end we were sitting together on the bench before enter the temple. Someone tried to do this with me as a sort of test. They friended me and let me guide them through the world. (I just went with it cause I had to candle farm anyways so why not) Then at the end he “revealed” himself and gave me a heart for my consideration, presumably.
The thing is he had a 10 winged cape the entire time...
At 23:54, I'm kinda surprised Daizai didn't suspect that you are not a real newbie moth since your sky kid is taller than a moth player that always start at the same height like the other mothie in the small cave area. Also, it was quite cute that the mothie just started clapping at 24:02 haha XD.
I think there's actually a small range of starting heights. But for other heights you need a resize potion.

It was the most unrealistic moth behaviour of all times. They didn’t try to lead; they didn’t make deep calls accidentally; they didn’t break free mid-flight to go in a totally wrong direction; they stood calmly and just waited with their lit candle by the 2-players door and in the 8-players chamber… like, they knew what they are doing and this is totally impossible when you’re new to the game.
I remember myself being a moth few years ago and I swear I understood nothing.

This is kinda unrelated
But my first time through eye of eden was with ONE other moth.
It was both our first time playing the game and we went from the isle all the way to eden together.
We friended and dont play often but they are stil my favorite friend ever.
I cried at the ending cutscene, and we held hands through the whole thing.
We lost so much winged light, and the whole thing was a super emotional experience, because we thought we lost, I remember dying, after sacraficing myself to save them in the last moments.
I felt dissapointed, as they slowed to a crawl and finally died too, but all that quickly turned to confusion and excitement.
This game is great.

I thank my friend very much from here. We do not speak the same language, we do not use the same alphabet. But my friend helped me for finish the game.

I remember when I was a moth, I thought people weren’t real, and I wanted to be friends with people and they usually excepted but one time someone said no and I was soooo sad 😢. And then I also made a friend who helped me go to eye of eden, they said it wasn’t scary but it was lol but now I’m chill every time I go there. Also the golden wasteland was so scary to me for a while I couldn’t bring myself to really go because the krill were so scary 😂
