My question is: How automated is having an Etsy store once it is created and you start making listings? I know the more work you put into it, directly correlates to how successful you will be, but when a client orders a print on demand item linked to Printify, assuming that there is no client issues, what tasks do you need to performs as the store owner? Like I said I have been making my way through your videos and maybe this is mentioned somewhere but I want to try and do as you suggested, where I keep my current job but start a store as a side hustle to increase my annual income. Im a dad with 2 young kids and a full time job and I'm trying to decide if the amount of time necessary to just keep the store running without hug improvements to it is doable. I've been doing it for a year now and have learned that the biggest difference between average and successful dropshippers is having product(s) with true value to your customers (the catch is that I am using a bit of winnerzila. They update their product list weekly, which makes it easier to stay in touch with market trends and find winning products).
Must say, you are always dropping very informative vids. I'd be curious though if you could do a video on how do you typically handle returns or ways of handling other issues that arise with the buyers.
Agree with what Alek said. Crafty niche is a huge market. I like shop 1 idea. I like the sticker shop idea as well. I found a shop who does text only sticker and they make over 20k sales!! Damn they just use commercial font too. That’s so lucrative they don’t need tech or art skill doing text only digital download store.

I’m a complete newbie here, so can you explain, when a sale is made on Etsy, who pays me ultimately? Is it Etsy or is it Printify? And how often can I withdraw profits?
Nobody replied to you I don't think but I can help! Etsy pays you directly, if using POD you would pay them, with the profits coming from the Etsy payments. You can be paid on whichever schedule you wish, I'm paid daily so I will always have the money to pay for orders as they come through, but you can also choose weekly or monthly payments if you prefer to receive it in bulk amounts (it doesn't make a difference to the amount received, it's probably a bookkeeping thing!). I hope this helps 😊

I know a whole community of painters, and a print on demand shop where they all can get exposure would be a gold mind. But they won't just want to sell their digital versions for a flat one-time fee. Plus they become marketing partners. So paying them would be easier through the backend of my shop thru Etsy, or do I have to handle that separately through my PayPal account?

I have noticed that these shops tend to be selling one or two items. Is it a bad idea to open a shop that sells all kind of things based on a theme? So shirts, stickers, mugs, and so on based on a theme.
You can start a shop with one or two items but later you have to add more items in other categories to expand your business. You simply can't depend on one item-selling business, also you have to be innovative if you run it for long.

The other day another 7-figure content creator that does POD says to focus only on one product like T-Shirts and put all your energy into it and not spread yourself too thin trying to put out other products. Then he says wait a few years and access the business then slowly start introducing another product.

That's an average of about $16.63 per item. Then you show 3383 saies (where'd this number come from?) at an 'alleged' profit of $6 each. Which POD platform is selling items for $16 and letting you take $6 of that? So Etsy is selling T-shirts at $16.63 with a 35% profit to the seller, after fees? I don't think these numbers are accurate.
