This list is spot on! As a resident of the PNW we layer the rain layer on top of the other layers you mention (fleece, sweatshirts etc). You definitely want your outer layer to be water resistant or waterproof because it can rain at any time! Enjoy Alaska!
When I bring the pop-up hamper, I put a couple of grocery store plastic bags in the bottom before collapsing the hamper down to pack. Then, I keep the bags in the bottom of the up-right hamper so when it's time to go home, I stuff the dirties in the grocery bags.
Hook magnets for the walls. I take them on all of my cruises, but find that I use more when we go to Alaska. Since we are wearing layers, we have more coats and jackets than we do closet room. So, the magnets come in clutch for hanging rain jackets, puffer jackets and light weight fleece jackets.
I’ve been watching a lot of videos with tips and items to consider for my upcoming Alaska cruise, (it will only be my second cruise ever), but no one else had mentioned posting an itinerary on the stateroom wall! I hadn’t thought of that! Thank you for that great idea! 😊
Along the same line as the hand warmers, they also make ones for your feet. They work great (our family uses them for skiing) and would be awesome for people that get chilly toes!
PNW resident and avid hiker here, i am going to add a couple of things about socks and hiking boots. For socks you can get completely waterprrof versions but smartwool type wicking ones also do a a pretty decent job and they dry quickly. If you are going out on an excursion and worried about your feet getting wet bring an extra pair to change into if your socks get soaked. Waterproof shoes have a few different ways that they could be waterproofed. Some are made of a material like rubber that is not permeable, some are treated with a coating and some are goretex lined. Each method has some pros and cons
An essential item is the beanie or knit cap. It has made a bigger difference compared to an extra layer or a scarf. And those handwarmers work great tucked inside gloves that have touchscreen capability.
Wow- that’s a TOUGH call- the Haven is very tempting because you have that private restaurant. However- it may depend on itinerary- if any of those visit glacier bay, that may sway a decision!! Glacier Bay is incredible
@@CruiseTipsTV similar ports. I do think if I went on NCL encore they go to glacier bay. We were looking at the haven because of the perks and the indoor pool.
Hello, can you please elaborate on princess WiFi costs on board. It seems to be a little confusing! What if im not doing princess premier or plus… is it 24.99 per person? Or can i get 1/2 off since im elite (they’ll just deduct it from my acct)? Does anyone know how this works? Appreciate it!
Hi! The $24.99 WiFi on Princess is for one DEVICE at a time - so you can get it for just one person ($24.99/day) and when that person logs their device off the Wi-Fi, the other person can log onto it. Being able to share the Wi-Fi really helps if you're trying to justify the cost. If you need multiple devices to be logged into the Wi-Fi AT THE SAME TIME, they also offer a 4-device plan, but of course that costs more. And Elite status (or Platinum) offers the same options but they refund half the cost to your folio once you are onboard.

Thanks for sharing Angie!!!
I used those hand warmers on my trip to Iceland. I will use it on my trip to Alaska and I will also add toe warmers.

Love this tip!
This list is ideal - I cruised to Alaska in 2022, and was surprised how different it was to a ‘regular’ cruise!

You are a CA and TX girl! I have packed hand warmers for years and years. Definitely brought them on cruises to Alaska, Norway, and Antarctica
Along the same line as the hand warmers, they also make ones for your feet. They work great (our family uses them for skiing) and would be awesome for people that get chilly toes!
I have full-size binoculars somewhere at home. Would those be too bulky on shore excursions when compared to pocket-sized travel binoculars?
Can you do carry on only for alaska in end of May

EXCELLENT tips!
We will be on the Discovery on August 24th. Thanks for the great video.
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching!
Awesome list Sheri! We're planning for our first Alaska cruise for 2026, so this list is great.

Absolutely agree. If your head is warm, everything else is warm!!
@cruisetipstv the hand warmers are fantastic and yes they definitely do last 8 hours I used them for Antarctica especially for my camera hand
yasss!
Thanks for the tips.Alaska looks amazing and so do the packing cubes
Can't wait to go to Alaska what ship did you like best?
That is why we only goto warm areas, heels and wedges. They only bring.
Great tips!!!
Which cruise would you do. Haven on NCL Bliss or Princess Discovery in a penthouse suite or Holland Eurodam to Alaska?

@cruisetipstv I didn’t see links to purses
Here you go! Sorry about that! www.amazon.com/shop/cruisetipstv/list/2QNRF4I2EB0UY?ref_=aipsflist_aipsfcruisetipstv
I ALWAYS take hand and toe warmers . Cold hands and feet are the worst!
Are you are travel agent? I in one and I love your videos! ❤
Hey! No, I don’t sell travel but I love my TA!
