@@liamthegreatkitsonBut the animation had never been this good before for a crying scene. When Serena cried, I did feel bad, and it was also well animated, but this one, it made me actually cry..
I really hate how some people say that Liko is crying is because she's a "sore loser", Liko’s entire character arc and personal conflict has been about how she struggles to understand her Pokémon’s feelings. When Floragato was a Sprigatito she showed early on in the series that she loved battling. And while Liko has a natural talent for battling she never had a competitive personality. The episode where Liko gets called out by Kabu for letting Roy win the Litwick gym test and not finishing the battle against the gym trainer is the clearest example of her not taking battling seriously. There’s so many moments in the show that built up to this scene of Liko finally understanding and sharing the same thrill and fun of battling Floragato does and in this episode she cried because it took her so long to finally realize this. She cried because she finally gave it her all in a battle and wanted to win badly but lost. it was tears of relief if anything and even Katy more or less said that while comforting her.
@@eljordinio7647 she's litterally just started training I think shes allowed to show "weakness" like don't tell me you're gonna treat her like a 40-year-old pokemon trainer and this isn't weakness its called CHARACTER GROWTH, I suppose you've never seen that.
@@peachaesthetics don't give me that "just started training" BS. She's been training since episode 7 and when it comes to major opponents like gym leaders and elite 4, all she's done is rack up failure after failure. One of which comes from her own compassionate nature leading her to quit, which as far as I'm concerned is a sign of weakness. And that's one thing I don't tolerate
@@eljordinio7647 Then dont watch it, for all I know the other two have also failed, she never asked to be defeating the elite 4 and has only come to learn. And also you arent even considering the fact she's caught 3 legendary pokemon, they may not be hers but as far as I know Ash hasn't gone that far even with his prolonged journey. She is here to understand pokemons emotions, unless you understand the difference between her fighting and ashes fighting motivation your not gonna "tolerate" anything. Fight me.
Rika actually felt more charismatic in the anime than what I remember in the game, she gives off better extrovert energy with her dialogues than the ones in game. I especially liked how she was teasing Liko telling her to give rubbing Clodsire a try, but then just spook and warn her off saying she can't do that without gloves cuz it's poisonous
I honestly prefer how almost all the Gym Leaders/Elite Four members have been portrayed in the anime so far! So many of them feel like their personalities TRULY shine here... like Brassius, Katy, Ryme, Iono, Rika, Hassel, etc.! Can't wait to spend more time with the others in the future too!
Regarding Penny's role in the S/V games. In short, she was the Boss of Team Star, who worked with a heroic transfer student (who was either Florian or Juliana) to bring down her own team before it would become the monster it was formed to oppose. As part of this, Penny **hacked into the League registries** in order to issue League Points and TM access to her agent. After succeeding at this, she admitted to the hacking. As punishment, Geeta offered her the choice of either paying off the LP debt, or working it off with "volunteer engineering" which could lead to full-time employment at the Academy. She accepted the engineering offer. Meanwhile, Team Star was punished for 18 months of truancy in a similar way: the sprawling fortresses they'd constructed all over Paldea would become part of the Academy, and they would be invited to continue to operate them as school-endorsed training centers. So for Penny to be an Academy engineer is absolutely in line with game events. Because of the Star Training Centers, we can even have Team Star in the plot without contradicting the game timeline. ^.^.^
I mean it also kinda makes sense in a way why Penny is just doing her post-Team Star work as the anime might have a hard time doing Team Star; as more specifically I guess it'll depend on How they introduce them. Keeping in mind Pokemon Horizons is still oriented to a Young Audience and Team Star's origin of their team formation was from Bullying; so doing it carefully upon those regards would be kinda difficult in presenting them
This and the fact that the show do not wish to encourage crime, even if it's to do the right thing. I can't blame them since there isn't a manner to show the audience that crime doesn't pay in the same episode. So, Penny already paying for her prior actions was the best choice in the matter as it gives Team Star a shot to appear in the series as assistants in strengthening the main team, progressing the show even more and we all get to see something new instead of the anime's version of Scarlet and Violet. I like it. This is bound to become a key element now that Liko understands her pokemon's desire to battle.
Wait, Penny had the choice to pay back the debt either financially or essentially "community service"? I only remember Geeta punishing Penny by having her patch the League's cybersecurity and stuff, without any mention of having the choice to pay back the LP personally (which I assume was probably quite a large amount.
@@gundamgamer7060 According to Penny, yes, there was a choice involved: "The Pokémon League said they'll waive my debt if I do some volunteer engineering for them. They even asked me to come work for them after I graduate, if you can believe that." (From the last scene in Starfall Street.)
I agree with everything you've said so far! This episode is so good and hit so hard. It was really something else, from the animation, the characters bouncing off one another, everything felt so intense and exciting. Something I also loved that wasn't mentioned was how Rika bounced off Liko, from before the fight when she noticed Liko was stressing out and opted to comfort her and help her relax, to how she fawns over her Clodsire, to her post battle comfort speech with Katy to Liko. Plus, Dot and Penny being two adorable introverts struggling to talk to one another. It's great
This is the first episode I've watched of Horizons since the Flying Pikachu episode when it first aired, and man, it definitely reminded me why this series is so awesome. I may do a deep dive back into this show to catch up now. Thanks so much for covering these!
Horizons has been genuinely incredible these past few months! The third arc has just been on another level!! I really hope you enjoy the series if you do check out more of it, I'm sure you will! 😁
It might just be me, but Liko crying in this episode reminded me of Serena crying in X and Y, specifically when she loses her first Showcase after Fennekin trips on its costume
During one of Dot's scenes, we got some subtle hints towards Paradox Pokémon through Dot referencing the magazines in the school library. I felt that was nice. PS. Get well soon.
I saw an Alolan Vulpix plush in my local con and my mind screamed "It's Pokeferlax!" when I realized, I felt so dumb (I'm pretty new to Pokemon, Horizons is my first Pokemon anime)
HAHA I love that so much! 😆 it honestly makes me so happy that so many people associate Alolan Vulpix with me now!! And it's awesome that Horizons is your first anime too! ❄
Despite the outcome of the battle, Liko did a pretty good job in her battle!!!!! This tag battle definitely was the best of the 3 with Rika's consecutive attacks from Katy's unleashed battling with Lokix both supportive & offensive (got super surprised Swarm activated) & Liko's Floragato learning Acrobatics {Love she learned the move after being inspired by Lokix's battle movements & maybe from its Bounce attack!!!!} And if it's any consolation for Liko, She was the only one to make her Elite 4 get Serious enough to go Tera; that's saying something in comparison with the others. At least after crying, I'm glad Liko felt better afterwards. AND at long last, Liko has Finally Found it; Beyond the Battle- Liko has Finally found Her Drive ~ the joy in Serious Battling!!!!!!!!!! Our Girl's On her Way!!!!! She's finally found the joy in battling for real & it will make her stronger!!!!!
Feel better soon! I loved this episode - from rika’s cockiness and jokes, both rika and Katy making liko feel better, lokix was amazing!!! all the Pokémon did a great job in this episode And it’s really interesting that they have the scarlet book now. I want to see terapagos get developed more than just “baby who keeps running off causing trouble”
I love Rika's charecter so much, she's so full of herself! 💚 The battle was great, the animation was sick, Lokix popping was super cool to see. Liko also did amazingly well even though she lost and I really wanted to give her a hug when she cried 😭💙 This might just be my favourite Liko episode so far, I'm giving it a 9/10!
I ADOREEE the way that Rika gives Liko tough love! Rika is so funny and has such a bold personality she’s awesome. I hope we see more of her throughout this series! 🙏🏻
This battle broke the rules of the assignment. It was said in last weeks episode that only the student is allowed to terastalize, but Rika terastalized the clodsire, breaking the rule.
I’m not 100% sure but I think maybe it was only the Gym Leaders who aren’t allowed to Terastalize? 🤔 I’ll have to rewatch last week’s episode to double check!
@@alolaamii Like that's the only thing. They wanna show even if Liko lost, she made an Elite 4 go all out against her, when the others tried their best to hold back. They had the permission to terestallise their Pokemon but they didn't want to go so hard on them.
Several newer Pokémon feel like “clones” of older Pokémon in a somewhat similar way to how people look at fighting game characters. Meowscarada really is just a Grass-Type Greninja (that also has a Grass-Type version of Wicked Blow for some reason).
It was a great episode. The crying scene was well animated and has great attention to detail you ever notice how Liko's eyes look puffy after crying? It made the scene look more realistic, like when you cry your eyes will look puffy. This is the first time in Pokémon anime history this has happened if I'm not mistaken
Ohhh that's awesome!! I remember she started working for the school or something after the main story, but I couldn't remember what the role was specifically! That's so cool! 🔥
I still really wish the battles were a 2v1 where the gym leader and student had to team up to take on one elite four pokemon. That wouldn't have changed much about the character development and lessons in the battles while giving a much more reasonable power scaling for the challenges. It feels like the power level the series is going for right now is 'the main characters have progressed enough to significantly contribute in major battles but aren't ready to solo the toughest enemies just yet', and setting up the battles as a 2v1 would have supported this a lot more. However, aside from that hangup, this episode was really solid. The character moments with Liko were handled really well, and the episode confirmed what I've suspected for a while: that Liko is being written as a battler with incredible natural talent, and her arc involves learning to enjoy battling. Just because Liko is more naturally a pokemon therapist than a pokemon trainer in terms of personality doesn't mean she lacks talent or drive, and that's been pretty consistent throughout the series. Liko learning to use battling as a way of connecting with pokemon is incredibly consistent with the long running theme of the pokemon anime, and also consistent with Liko's personal goals, and I really like how the episode handled it. I think the next milestone for this series would be a Fuecoco evolution. It's time to give Roy a couple episodes to shine in now. :)
This was probably the best E4 out of 3. I really like the teamwork on both sides. When fast Dugtrio cover slow Clodsire or Lokix defends Floragato from Poison Jab by poisoning himself. And finally Floragato learns Acrobatics. I was tired from Magical Leaf/ Quick Attack spam. As for the upcoming battles: they seems to be 2v2 or a double battles, meaning Hattrem also will get a spotlight. Grusha most likely will have Altaria as a second pick.
yeah same i'm happy she finally learned a new move. Especially since in the beggining she was just spamming leafage and then she learned Magical leaf ... which LITERALLY looks like leafage lol and that just spamming again
penny becomes the engineer for the league after the events of pokemon scarlet it would be hilarious to know that the event of horizons is after pokemon scarlet and violet events 💀
I like that she cried when she learned that she loved battling, you would think most people would have smiled but making her cry was a great move because that’s really shows how passionate she has becomes and how much that battle meant to her.
I considered using one, because I usually always use at least one Pokémon of every type in a game. However, I decided to train a Kleavor instead. I can't wait to see what Lucius's Kleavor will be like!
Man. Damn near every episode of pokemon made me cry alot of moments in the show thay are just outright beautiful and stunning, so much heart, so much care put into every episode and evolution it truly is touching makes me feel juat as emotional as the dragon type elite 4 member🤧
This episode was really good, especially seeing Liko getting a few decent hits in, and her getting invested in an actually fun tough battle rather than one where are the stakes are really high. Plus, finally learning a new move, and it's Acrobatics! It's a great coverage move for Floragato!
It’s not really related to the episode but I wanted to share something I had in mind for some time. After watching episode 54 and reading some theories about Pokemon Horizons, I noticed some things about the dynamics between Liko, Amethio and Friede. It’s not a secret, but there’s a good chance that Amethio will have redemption and Liko will contribute to it. However, I think their relationship is much more important in the story than what we might think. And I think Friede also has his part to play in it. I warn it will be VERY long and I apologize in advance for the mistakes (I use Google translation). I) How Liko sees Amethio from episode 1 to 44: Until episode 45 of the series, Liko had a negative image of Amethio. After all he had tried to steal her pendant, kidnap her and Sprigatito. After episode 2, she never interacted with Amethio again until episode 45 (thanks to the Reddit post that pointed that out to me). She only saw him from afar, trying to capture Rayquaza or Terapagos, to confront Friede, that sort of thing. Why didn’t the writers make them interact more times before this episode 45? This is what we will see in the second point. II) The evolution of Liko: In my opinion, the reason behind this choice is that Liko needed to grow. Her growth as a trainer is also linked to her growth as a person. At the start of the series, Liko knew very little about pokemon trainers, did not know what she wanted to do or what she wanted to become. With the help of Sprigatito and the Rising Volt Tacklers, she was able to gain self-confidence, become stronger (although still not enough) and discover the kind of trainer and therefore person she wanted to become: a person who can understand the feelings of others. This is how Liko will convince people/pokemon to follow her ( 6 heroes, Hatenna ) and make them evolve ( Dot ). This will surely be how Liko will be able to change Amethio. If from episode 1 to 44 she had interacted more often with Amethio, Liko would have understood that he was not a bad person but she couldn't have done anything for him given her lack of self-confidence, power, and being building herself as a person. So, while Liko was evolving both in power and in maturity, someone had to deal with the "Amethio" case. And that person is Friede. III) Dynamics between Friede and Amethio: I think this point deserves to be further developed because their dynamics are rather interesting, but I will only focus on what it brings compared to the Liko/ Amethio dynamics. Friede faced Amethio because he was the only one strong enough to do it. Friede is an intelligent and observant person, he understood that Amethio was not 100% bad. He makes several remarks that show it and the simple fact that he agrees to team up temporarily with him in episode 45 also proves it. Do you think he’d team up with Spinel or Sango? I wouldn’t. However, even if Amethio is not "evil", this does not prevent him from being their enemy and a threat to the crew. Friede is an adult, with responsibilities, he cannot afford to waste time trying to make him change sides, to understand his motivations to join the explorers even though he is a rather just person. However, this is clearly not the case for Liko. IV) How Liko sees Amethio since episode 45: We come to the famous episode 45. This scene (very cool) where Amethio saves Liko from draco-meteor is very important. It is at this point that Liko discovers that Amethio is far from being entirely bad. There are other elements that prove it to her, the alliance between Friede and Amethio, but also the little monologue just after he saved her where he shows his anger towards Spinel. This makes Liko understand that he does not share the vision of Spinel and the other explorers, that he is different from them. Amethio’s answer when Liko thanks him for saving her is not "Don't misunderstand, it’s because you have a connection with Terapagos," but "Don't misunderstand, I will capture Rayquaza". I will translate the first by "I saved you but it was because it was related to my goal" and the second by "I saved you but I remain your enemy". Quite different meaning. Liko has clearly changed her vision of Amethio, even describing with admiration his terrastalize Ceruledge as "amazing". If it was Spinel or Sango, she would call their pokemon "powerful" or "dangerous" without showing admiration. V) Theory for the future So I think that now Liko has seen that Amethio has some good in him, she'll want to try to better understand his reasons for joining the explorers and surely to understand the kind of person he is. Maybe Conia and Zirc will play a role in that too. Anyway, it makes me want to see their next interaction. In the arc Terastal debut, Liko becomes more independent, she no longer needs Cap to come and save her every time. Liko becoming more independent and stronger, she will be able to deal with the Amethio case in her own way, differently from Friede. If Amethio has his redemption with Liko's help and becomes her ally, there would be a nice parallel with Lucius and Gibeon as well as Hamber and Diana. Where Liko’s family (whose last name is still unknown) had problems with the Explorers, either with Gibeon who (probably) betrayed Lucius, or with Diana and Hamber who separated because they (probably) had a different vision of adventure (or something like that), Liko and Amethio, who started as enemies, will (probably) become allies. Anyway I finally finished, thank you to all those who had the courage to read this ^^ .
Good review of the episode, I really felt it when Liko cried, she tried her best and still lost. And I don't wanna see any comment from you, Eljordinio calling her weak!
At the end of S/V Penny became an engineer for the Pokémon League because of her hacking skills as "punishment", after she admitted to hacking into their systems
This episode was honestly just such a good episode (though to be fair i feel that way about most episodes so whether how i feel matters or not is another thing) so to mention with penny when she said that she was the engineer for the academy and pokemon leagues computer system in the games penny is given the role of been in charge of the pokemon leagues system and having a job at the league for that position after she graduates from the academy all of this happens after dealing with team star in the games so maybe for horizions everything with team star might possibly be dealt with. The conversation between dot and agate though brief did give some nice alluding to as agate brought up the mention of scream tail and im not sure which moth (if anyone remembers exactly please mention it in the replies if ye want since ive forgotten) which alludes to the paradox pokemon possibly appearing at some point. The battle between liko and katie against rika was honestly really good seeing how honestly good how katie and rika were as kind of mentor figures for liko to ease her and get her thinking more to just focus on the battle and not necesarily take everything so literal for the battle, katies lokix was honestly really good in this battle just for the sheer ammount on how it was there as support for floragato and making sure she was ok since she did have a rough landing from when she was swung around by dugtrio and mightve possibly slightly twisted or sprained her ankle a little bit which none of the trainers noticed at all which is just a little bit interesting to me so props though to floragato for putting in a lot of work in this battle with a bit of an injury as well as learning acrobatics. Also first appearence of grusha and the fact that hes interested in liko and especially just the small brief bit of interaction grusha has with liko and the fact that he just calls her frigid given how she didnt respond to him but also just from how he views her i think in relation to how she battles possibly. Honestly grusha has been the character that ive been interested in seeing the group interact with at some point because how in comparison to liko and roy grusha is kind of the opposite of them personality wise and whatnot but itll be interesting just cause grusha having had to retire from snowboarding professionaly he tends to be a bit more jaded in how he can be a bit blunt and whatnot which i do think both sides liko roy and dot might definetly learn somethings from grusha from his perspective as well as grusha learning from the group possibly but hey who knows though. (Also sorry for really long comment hopefully my rambling made sense)
This episode got me really pumped up. I enjoyed the battle. What got me surprised was Rika terastallizing her Clodsire! Was that even allowed? Anyway, even though Liko lost, she did a great job going all out. She needed the character development and her tears showed that she was finally having fun with Pokémon battles.
@@leviristich5211 I knew that Liko wasn’t going to defeat Rika. She is an Elite four member after all. However, that’s okay. Liko still needs more battling experience to eventually reach her level.
In regards to Tera, the only rule to using it was that Only the Gym Leader was not allowed to use it as the Student is the Star of the Tera Training Special E4 Battle; they never gave any specifics to the Elite 4 on the rules except the E4 lose if one of their 2 pokemon are unable to battle
@@MarcusMapua You’re right! I did recall the rules in episode 55. Gym leaders couldn’t terastallize, but it never stated that Elite fours couldn’t also. That later part Clavell didn’t say, which is why I was shocked when Rika terastallized her Clodsire. Also, she was the only Elite of the four members to terstallize. Liko must’ve really pushed Rika to the edge if she made her go full power like that.
I didn't understand why they changed the rules in this battle previously if one pokemon of any side can't battle anymore then that side loses but here even after katy lose the battle is still going and after watching this episode i feel like there is not much power difference between the paldea gym leaders and elite four when katy gets serious she was handling two elite four pokemon with her lokix alone.
The rule for the student & gym leader's side is that if the Student Trainer's pokemon is unable to battle, the match is over & decided (as for the E4's side is that if one of their pokemon is unable to battle). The Gym Leaders are there to assist the Student in their tag battle as support; so it's ok if they go down. It's the reason why Onyx lost his battle; Tulip & Espathra were about to taken out in their tag battle but Onyx & Garganacl took the hit instead for them that resulted in their loss
Just got done rewatching for the third time- genuinely my favourite episode so far!! Maybe I’m just biased because Penny’s my favourite character from the games, and Dot’s my favourite in the anime, but STILL!! I’m really curious about the implications of Penny working for the league already- that only happened as of the very end of the game! Really seeming like this takes place after sv in some way based off that, which is super interesting. The amount of Scarlet/Violet stuff in this episode was so great- the Scarlet book, the mention of the Occulture magazines and the past paradox Pokémon, that page from the book that was such a big deal til The Indigo Disk happened, man that was all so great. Not to mention Liko- the way she was written in this episode really fixed like all my little problems I had with her. Plus based off this it seems she’ll be taking battles more seriously from now on, which is super exciting!
I mean it kinda makes sense in a way why Penny is doing her post-Team Star work as the anime might have a hard time doing Team Star; as more specifically I guess it'll depend on How they introduce them. Keep in mind Pokemon Horizons is still oriented to a Young Audience and Team Star's origin of their team formation was from Bullying; so doing it carefully upon those regards would be kinda difficult
At the end of SV, Penny had to work for Pokémon League as 'punishment' for her Team Star actions. So, this anime likely takes place after the whole Area Zero ending in the game... Also, yes, COVID is obviously still a thing. And people are spreading it easier now. Viruses stay in a person's body and will activate when the body cannot keep it inactive.
They finally remember that the Scarlet book exists. Friede is supposedly studying Tearapagos but I don’t think he knows about it yet and nobody even brought up Area Zero. Also RIP Violet I guess
The Violet Book doesn't exist in Scarlet, but the occult magazine with the future Paradoxes still does, as it's mentioned in their dex entries. They could still appear in the anime even if Scarlet is the canon version.
In the ending they showed both Koraidon and Miraidon meaning both version of the book exists but the main one is Scarlett. Also the magazine that Dot was frawning over mentions the Paradox pokemons so hopefully it will be more relevant later. In the preview they will meet with the histrory teacher next time to talk about all this history.
i think that violet is somehow going to be incorporated into the plot since both miraidon and koraidon are seen riding past the horizons trio in the outro mv
Yeah they only looked at terapagos stellar form in the book nothing else and next ep they are going to ask raifort about it and area zero most likely won’t be explored till after they get all the hero Pokémon imo.
Dot and Penny have some good Taste of Technology but also the they suspect that the Explorer are disguising a students and hacked the school systems. But Liko and Katy vs Rika battle is really splendid and the emotion of Liko crying made me sad. But she gave it her all in that battle.
Got to love liko improvement. She may now train and improve her battling, battle with different pokemon and it will be great (especially cause it seem the battle may be two on two)
Penny's maintanence work thing for the Academy is what her ending was in the games. Basically she hacked the school systems to help the Player character then she was offered this deal by Clavell at the end of her story-line. Side note: If you played the DLC (Mainly the second part - The Indigo Disc), then the Scarlet Book is a brilliant setup for whats to come.
Liko expresses her sadness in her loss to make a great character. I want to do Bond Phenomenon someday. New mysteries are coming soon. Really want more on Paldea’s Elite Four in the future.
I think Riko losing also will make her realise she lacks the strength to protect her pokemon because as an adventurer and trainer she lacks in those areas. This is the first time she loses badly one sided and there is no one to help her.
Thought this was another nice episode, the battle could have been better but not bad. Likos growth and what she said is so wonderful. Love her character. I don’t get the hate people get for her. The scarlet book lore stuff is interesting too. Hope you get well soon Ferlax 🤍🩵💚
I think what will happen next is after the treasure hunt arc we'll see Liko, Roy, and Dot take on a team star base, this will require each of the three to catch a third pokemon to take on the star rush battles. Afterward i would love to see them battle gym leaders a second time just to see how far they've come, but instead i believe it should be this way Liko Vs Grusha Roy Vs Ryme Dot Vs Tulip I think that would be perfect to wrap up the terastal debut arc befor setting off on the brave asagi again
IF the Team Star bases number of Pokemon required for the trainer to own is canon to the anime then the only Pokemon that Liko, Roy and Dot should catch are: Liko: Charcadet Roy: Grimghoul Dot: Girafarig
@@Sebastian62608 My apologies then, it’s just it’s been a year and half since the games came out already and people who have played the game or watched walkthrough videos would know by now.
As of this episode, every Paldea gym leader made their main series debut. I hope we see Galar gym leaders Milo, Nessa, Bede, Gordie, Melony, Klara, Avery, Mustard and Peony in the Pokémon Horizons anime.
We've been made a surprisilly long Journey with Pokémon Horizons Liko, Roy and Dot, I remember it like a yesterday when it started. Liko and Floragato's connect feels like Ash and Greninja's connection or Ash and Pikachu's connection to be honest. It's hard for me to see Liko's crying, then i'm crying too! 😢❤
I've seen a couple of screenshots and clips from this pokemon anime and it has some interesting sides. I only watched XY and journeys so i'm wondering how good this is compared to these. is it worth getting into?
If you like an anime with a real story and more character development then yes if you like battles there aren't many but starting from the third arc they started having more battles
@@natalimoina Ok riddle me this, whats the point of her goin on adventure with ash and goh and making bonds with new characters she met if her Eevee DOESNT EVEN CHOOSE TO EVOLVE AT ALL at the end??!?Many peeps will agree with me on this one for sure.
Liko rode the highest in emotions after realizing the importance of Pokemon battles, only to suddenly come crashing down immediately after. It's absolutely going to hurt a lot cause she really wanted to win for once, rather than generally feeling like she needed to win.
also i think because this is the first time where she actually lost badly and utterly defeated and Riko as a person treasures her pokemon over battles. This should how weak she is as an adventurer and trainer. She will be an adventurer by the end since its going to be her dream likely rather than a trainer. Even when she needed to win those battles she couldnt even though she lost those battle it wasnt utterly one sided. The moltres would have been the 1st utter lost if cap didnt interfere in that battle or wasnt the one battling.
3:43 Who ironically, also were struggling to fully immerse themselves in battle and then liko proceeds to get obliterated by a move that works weirdly similarly to blast burn😭
What do you know, I was right. Lokix really was the first Pokémon to go down so Liko and Floragato could have their time to shine. That said, Lokix did put up a much better fight than I expected. I also didn't expect Dugtrio becoming totally useless after it got paralyzed. No other Pokémon has ever been so utterly ignored by both its trainer and opponent after getting a status condition before. In fact, I bet Liko could have won the battle if she'd bothered to target Dugtrio even once, but nope. For some reason, Floragato was hell-bent on fighting Clodsire for the entire second half of the battle. Penny's introduction was pretty cool. I wonder why she is the only one who seems to wonder where this mysterious new teacher came from. Her data appeared out of nowhere, huh? Well, surely Clavell had some reason for hiring her, right? Or did Spinel's Beheeyem hypnotize him? Actually, that would make sense.
My favorite part about this is the confirmation of how they are going to handle the games plot because after the underwhelming insult journeys did to galar, it is so nice to see that not happening here
Ok so this episode was very good but i have to talk about the side stuff because they revealed a lot of things. So in the game penny does ends up working for the pokemon league but only basically as a punishment after being find out to be the leader of team star and that quest so this imply that either she is just doing it because she want too, maybe because it makes it easier for her to hack their system and get all that she want with it or that the event of team star have already happened wich im mixed about because it feels weird that they arent going to deal with them but also explain the fact that we never meeted team star yet. The second thing its confirmed we are in the timeline with the past paradox, wich i guess makes sense considering the school is the naranja one but its nice to have confermations. This does also raises a question thought, before the anime they made some short with team rocket meeting some paldea pokemon has a teaser for the anime(wich now that i think about doesnt it tecnically confirms to be the same universe as ash since they teased the pokemon with team rocket? Would be kinda weird that they dont end up being the same but shown the same pokemon.)and in those shorts they showed both miraidon and koraidon so it should confirms that we are probably going to meet both of them in some way, maybe turo somehow ending up in this timeline. But the third things that is honestly the most important of the whole episode is the picture because that picture is still the biggest mistery currently in the games. Callugaris, the author of the scarlet book in theory got that picture in another timeline where he got sent because of terapagos power where he found terapagos back in an ancient form that its now lost because he doesnt have that much power anymore and meeted someone who is theorized to be either himself or the professor wich gave him some note. That led to him writing the book that than inspired the professor that seeing the paradox (from another timeline that probably got taken there by terapagos power and than sent back since they dont last long)wanted to bring them back so building the time machine. But than this is where the mistery happens because in game we discover something impossible. In the note in the abyss of area zero we find out that the professor meeted a child that gave them a book that helped them finish the time machine, that child being us. If we go than to a certain spot we can get this event but thats the part that doesnt make sense because in these events we dont meet our professor but the one from another timeline(that we can find out based on some dialogue they give that mess with the timeline)to wich we end up giving the note that they need to finish the time machine but in theory from what is implied wont follow in this since we managed to get them back on being with arven. In this event thought this professor give us their scarlet book that has even their signature, something that should be impossible because our professor still had it wich brings the question on they got it from the other us without losing their book? The anime now as to answer this question that it presented, who did callugaris eeted that gave him the note about the primal terapagos and how did professor got the note to complete the time machine.
The book is a publication and there is a copy in the library in the gane. The question is the last page only appear in the original copy owned by Briar and later gave to the professor.
Get well soon, dude. You sound kinda normal to me. as for the episode I didnt cry at the scene liko cried. sorry guys im not heartless. Lately i have a hard time crying at stuff with 2 exceptions but mainly with some tv and movies stuff.
As much as Liko’s battle was entertaining, I found a lot of interest in the sub-story more The sub story for me uncovered a lot of mystery and also added a unique flavor to the story of horizons Yeah sure, the battle was the main focus and they did well in that act, however, I also felt that it could have been a huge distraction to what could happen later Like Penny is the first character NOT in the rising volt tacklers to ever encounter terapegos which I think is huge considering later Clavel and Greeta will learn about its existence too. Plus she knows about the Scarlet book bc she was with dot when she found it and she is already on the tail of the explorers I know it’s a lot but that’s why I feel the sub-story was better than the main fight It has a lot of plot openings and will be a huge thing to note as we progress through the anime
This one is pretty cool,I talked with others and they are so impatient. They think liko is weak and they are losing interest in the anime. Also, poor liko 🥺🥺🥺
Liko is not weak, its her oppenent who is above of her level, amethio, rayquaza, Rika, katy who forced to hold back due to her location and next is grusha the strongest paldean gym leader, however liko manage to defeat fuecoco as sprigatito despite type disadventage, fought and handling onyx for long time, learning lot of combination move, she even discover arcanine and cap double team weakness Its about development to make liko worthy as trainer, did these people remembered how bad ash as trainer back in OG series? Any comment on the previews?
Well said. Very much agreed.

@@Pokeferlax New Episodes Aired Yesterday Dude
Keeping in mind Pokemon Horizons is still oriented to a Young Audience and Team Star's origin of their team formation was from Bullying; so doing it carefully upon those regards would be kinda difficult in presenting them
This! 👍🏻
It's great

The battle itself was pretty enjoyable but rika acting cocky when battling a total rookie was honestly disgusting.

@@alolaamii Like that's the only thing. They wanna show even if Liko lost, she made an Elite 4 go all out against her, when the others tried their best to hold back. They had the permission to terestallise their Pokemon but they didn't want to go so hard on them.

@@CometX-ing Imagine this at this point the SV MC is at BB Academy, Arven cured Mabostiff.
Hooray Penny and Dot interacting
Im sure liko and her pokemon will learn from this
I still really wish the battles were a 2v1 where the gym leader and student had to team up to take on one elite four pokemon.

We'll see. At least the Paradox Pokémon don't appear to be common knowledge at this point. I'm guessing Penny hasn't been to Area Zero.
I like that she cried when she learned that she loved battling, you would think most people would have smiled but making her cry was a great move because that’s really shows how passionate she has becomes and how much that battle meant to her.

Plus, finally learning a new move, and it's Acrobatics! It's a great coverage move for Floragato!
Hope you feel better soon btw
It’s not really related to the episode but I wanted to share something I had in mind for some time.
After watching episode 54 and reading some theories about Pokemon Horizons, I noticed some things about the dynamics between Liko, Amethio and Friede.
It’s not a secret, but there’s a good chance that Amethio will have redemption and Liko will contribute to it. However, I think their relationship is much more important in the story than what we might think. And I think Friede also has his part to play in it.
I warn it will be VERY long and I apologize in advance for the mistakes (I use Google translation).
I) How Liko sees Amethio from episode 1 to 44:
Until episode 45 of the series, Liko had a negative image of Amethio.
II) The evolution of Liko:
In my opinion, the reason behind this choice is that Liko needed to grow.
III) Dynamics between Friede and Amethio:
I think this point deserves to be further developed because their dynamics are rather interesting, but I will only focus on what it brings compared to the Liko/ Amethio dynamics.
IV) How Liko sees Amethio since episode 45:
We come to the famous episode 45.
V) Theory for the future
So I think that now Liko has seen that Amethio has some good in him, she'll want to try to better understand his reasons for joining the explorers and surely to understand the kind of person he is.

Because Liko cannot beat Rika she won't able to defeat her
@@leviristich5211 I knew that Liko wasn’t going to defeat Rika.
Amazing
I hope you are feeling better.
Poor Liko. She needs a hug. 💙🫂
It doesn't matter at all in the anime weither they focused on scarlett or violet anyway since they can just do both
Yeah they only looked at terapagos stellar form in the book nothing else and next ep they are going to ask raifort about it and area zero most likely won’t be explored till after they get all the hero Pokémon imo.
She may now train and improve her battling, battle with different pokemon and it will be great (especially cause it seem the battle may be two on two)
Gets well soon ferlax
This episode was spectacular dude! 😎
Penny is bad guy in anime
@@leviristich5211 Nah.
Liko expresses her sadness in her loss to make a great character. I want to do Bond Phenomenon someday. New mysteries are coming soon. Really want more on Paldea’s Elite Four in the future.
Liko cannot beat Rika today
Now we must wait for the day Liko beats her in a major battle like during the Elite Four rematch.
I think Riko losing also will make her realise she lacks the strength to protect her pokemon because as an adventurer and trainer she lacks in those areas. This is the first time she loses badly one sided and there is no one to help her.
Glad we finally got a Dot & Penny interaction after waiting so long. Curious if the Scarlet Book hints at Koraidon appearing in the anime later on?
You get well, soon! Take your time!
I hope you feel better it was an amazing episode I can’t believe they added penny
Get well soon dude...
Afterward i would love to see them battle gym leaders a second time just to see how far they've come, but instead i believe it should be this way
Liko Vs Grusha
Roy Vs Ryme
Dot Vs Tulip
I think that would be perfect to wrap up the terastal debut arc befor setting off on the brave asagi again
Dot is already confirmed to be facing Larry next.
IF the Team Star bases number of Pokemon required for the trainer to own is canon to the anime then the only Pokemon that Liko, Roy and Dot should catch are:
Liko:
Charcadet
Roy:
Grimghoul
Dot:
Girafarig
I wish the trio go to Star Training Centre after they find out they are too weak to battle the gym leader for the 2nd stage of school assessment.
Get well soon bro
In the games Penny is secretly the boss of Team Star. The crying part reminds me of Ash's first lost in the Indigo League.
Dude how could you spoil it for me
@@Sebastian62608 What are you talking about? everyone already knows
@@geoknuckles4629 I didn’t :(
@@Sebastian62608 My apologies then, it’s just it’s been a year and half since the games came out already and people who have played the game or watched walkthrough videos would know by now.
As of this episode, every Paldea gym leader made their main series debut. I hope we see Galar gym leaders Milo, Nessa, Bede, Gordie, Melony, Klara, Avery, Mustard and Peony in the Pokémon Horizons anime.
Amazing episode
We've been made a surprisilly long Journey with Pokémon Horizons Liko, Roy and Dot, I remember it like a yesterday when it started. Liko and Floragato's connect feels like Ash and Greninja's connection or Ash and Pikachu's connection to be honest. It's hard for me to see Liko's crying, then i'm crying too! 😢❤
I think Liko should ask Nemona. That prick loves battling like its her daily routine
What, you think it isn't? A day when Nemona doesn't battle is a day wasted for her.
The universe has conspired to never let her and Ash meet so they don't cause widespread destruction due to their battle addiction.
What if Liko and her Floragato, who will evolve into Meowscarada, get a battle bond? Like they tried to but something happens and left Liko collapsed?
I still gotta get a chance to watch this. But it isn't available in Netflix Canada!

@@momokosakurada605 weak is right. She's not going to achieve anything with his level of weakness
Hopefully this painful lesson pays off
@@eljordinio7647 yeah and the fact that her pokemon can die because of her weakness also is important.

I chalk Liko focusing on Clodsire being a case of her really getting into the battle that she wanted to fight Clodsire head on.
I suppose. It's not what I would have done, but she is still learning. It's fine.
ONE WITH FLORAGATO ???
YOO IS THAT AN ASH GRENINJA REFERANC-
My favorite part about this is the confirmation of how they are going to handle the games plot because after the underwhelming insult journeys did to galar, it is so nice to see that not happening here
Journeys did not insult Galar, they did it justice
@@natalimoina Tell that to every Gym Leader, Galar Pokémon or other important character who never showed up. Journeys HATED Galar.
@@natalimoinaSo introducing barely half of Galar's characters does it justice? What the hell is wrong with you
Ok so this episode was very good but i have to talk about the side stuff because they revealed a lot of things.

As much as Liko’s battle was entertaining, I found a lot of interest in the sub-story more
The sub story for me uncovered a lot of mystery and also added a unique flavor to the story of horizons
Yeah sure, the battle was the main focus and they did well in that act, however, I also felt that it could have been a huge distraction to what could happen later
Like Penny is the first character NOT in the rising volt tacklers to ever encounter terapegos which I think is huge considering later Clavel and Greeta will learn about its existence too.
Plus she knows about the Scarlet book bc she was with dot when she found it and she is already on the tail of the explorers
I know it’s a lot but that’s why I feel the sub-story was better than the main fight
It has a lot of plot openings and will be a huge thing to note as we progress through the anime
This one is pretty cool,I talked with others and they are so impatient. They think liko is weak and they are losing interest in the anime. Also, poor liko 🥺🥺🥺
Liko is not weak, its her oppenent who is above of her level, amethio, rayquaza, Rika, katy who forced to hold back due to her location and next is grusha the strongest paldean gym leader, however liko manage to defeat fuecoco as sprigatito despite type disadventage, fought and handling onyx for long time, learning lot of combination move, she even discover arcanine and cap double team weakness
Its about development to make liko worthy as trainer, did these people remembered how bad ash as trainer back in OG series? People prefer instant character over well development character these day
