If the Configure button did not accept input focus in NINA! Thank you. I am a beginner when it comes to NINA and at best intermediate when it come to NINA. This is the first plug-in I have used for example. Stellariun behaved slightly differently for me. For a start I noticed that I had a different version for the plug-in. Mine is 24.1.0. Quite a bit higher than yours unless they have changed the numbering conversion. When I checked Load On Startup the configure button did not light up. I thought perhaps you don't have to do the further configuration with this version of the plug-in. Restarted Stellarium. Searched for Vega in Stellarium. Followed your instructions in NINA. It did not load the co-ordinates. Went back into Stallarium to have a poke around and found that the Configure button had now come to life. Presumably following the Stellarium re-start. Did the additional config. Restarted Stellarium. Went into NINA. It worked. Hopefully this will help someone. Thanks again. I wpould not have done this if it wasn't for your video.

Hey Bill, great video on how to set up Stellarium. If you look under the manual focus tab in NINA you can select suitable stars to focus on, you'll find Vega in the list of stars then select slew

You may have to enable the manual focus tab

@@AstroVagabond All good mate apart from the Australian skies not being astro friendly at the moment but we kind of expect that in the Winter.

Hey Bill, late to the party on this one but great video! Just in case you didn't realize you can also set custom horizons on both Nina and Stellarium to match your location. Where I live in Brooklyn, NY it is extremely helpful due to all the obstructions / condensed housing that makes up my horizon!

    • @AstroVagabond
      @AstroVagabond  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Great tip on the horizons. I have one set for my backyard in Stellarium but not for NINA. Clear skies!

Anytime Bill! You should check it out on Nina, especially helpful for an urbanite like me. If you put in the date and times on the sky atlas but leave the search bar blank and hit enter it will show you all the targets available in that time range and date within your horizon. Its Fantastic!@@AstroVagabond

    Hi Bill
    Thank you for this information.
At the beginning I had a hard time finding the Stellarium Remote plugins because Stellarium was not downloaded from the original site.
Also the Remote Sync must be checked to load at startup or else there is no option to enable the server.
    I hope this helps

Thanks for the feedback and additional information. Now that I moved over the ASIAir Plus I only use Stellarium for planning purposes. The ASIAir Plus has a nice Sky Atlas with the ability to control the mount.

Impossible to simplify this any further. Thank you.
Quick question, I’ve been doing a lot of imaging with Nina; no problems.
I want to be able to take my imaging train off and put the diagonal and an eyepiece.
Do I need Stellarium for slewing ,or can I use what I usually use in Nina and just ignore the plate solve failure.
I am counting on the mound to point and track on its own. I have a 10micron with absolute encoders.
    Thanks…

Great questions Rafa. I just don't know the answer. I did at one time use Cartes du Ceil to slew my mount after doing a Polar alignment. I expect you could do the same with Stellarium. I'd try your idea out and see what happens. Clear skies!

    • @Rafastro

OK, seems like I reverted back by default to solarium. My problem is that they configure button is not highlighting.
      Any ideas?

I followed it three times, no Vega. Or I am incredibly stupid or the methodology is poorly explained😢

Hi Bill, thanks for your video and for your efforts. I am a neophyte and absolutely confused by your presentation, you very well know your stuff but you do not reach your students. Transferring your knowledge is much more demanding than recitation it.
I am a professional educator teaching students how to fly a high tech Boeing 787, sorry but many potential Astro enthousiasts get lost by your explanations. I did! We need to follow a more professional methodology to transmit our (your) expertise ..
    With most kind regards, Gus.
