He was trying for the past couple years to seize more power in the front office. Remember that this guy also worked for someone who seized power in another franchise and that franchise went to the toilet for a few years because of it. Not to mention that he had terrible tendency to put only his guys in coordinator spots. Only worked with Arthur Smith, everyone else it hasn't worked out very well. Byard was one of the loudest critics of Shane Bowen and Vrabel was getting sick and tired of it. He was also told to fire Bowen and said no to ownership which prompted the firing. Titans couldn't trade him quickly and needed to move fast to get set up for a proper coaching staff.

Thought the same thing with Brian Flores and Miami. Maybe they are trying to make a play for Harbough. Harbough has been linked to Chargers and Raiders big time but I see Harbough doing everything in his power to not go to an AFC team so he isn't facing his brother all the time. It wouldn't shock me if Harbough (if he was going to coach in NFL again) going to Commanders or Atlanta. Atlanta has a good young core on offense, and they are in an easy division. Commanders because he would be close to his brother (haha) and have the #2 pick, 2 second round and 2 third round picks.

Vrabel is one hell of a coach but essentially it was his ego that got him fired.
Explosive outbursts behind the scenes? Not meshing well with the new GM, Ran Carthon, despite this year's draft picks being stellar, and free agent signing being really solid? Not agreeing with the GM implementing an analytics department that rivals that of the Niners, Bills and Chiefs?
Vrabel wanted Bill Belichick type power of the Titans. Reason Titans sunk so low these past two seasons has been their missed draft picks of good OLINE. Him and JRob(past GM) were involved in all that.
Ballsy move Amy, but definitely a good one.
Can't wait for an offensive minded coach to come in and build an aggressive air attack with Levis. It's something TN has never seen in franchise history. LFG!!

I don’t get this. He had a great culture and the locker room behind him. He wasn’t the problem. Bad personnel management was the problem. They ended the season with nothing to play for and earned a decisive victory over a team playing for a postseason spot. The issues were Tannehill, a receiving corps that with no real talent because they traded a true #1 and rely now of an aging star, and over reliance on an aging Henry. Henry is defying the usual trajectory of bell cow back but still. The Titans could have retained Vrabel and still done a rebuild with Levis and more skill position playe
