The Pochette Métis is just an absolute perfect daily bag, no need to change it around all the time, goes with most daily outfits, holds what you need etc… so I won’t shout about it, but I will buy and wear it any day…
Agreed! This was my first luxury bag and I love it ❤ I have it in the reverse monogram and want to get the east west version in the regular monogram next time!
Blue and green are my colors also. Also black. And purple. Not fond of red, and definitely not pink, unless it's hot pink. So Cassie has some green bags. They look nice on her shelves. (Jan Griffiths).
I think the number of “older” styles making the list has to do with the volume of inventory. As trends fade, people may sell them to preloved sites and so preloved sites will have more and more in inventory as time passes. So popularity here could be more of a function of supply than demand.
Today is my 68th birthday…I just bought an LV Artsy! It’s preloved, but it looks like a new bag!☺️ I saw several in the wild at my 50th high school reunion and I had to have one of my own!
What interested me was the top ten bags sold. To me it wasn't that these were the most bought bags but rather that these were the ones people were selling the most and no longer wanting and therefore the most available.
david yurman mentioned 🎉 he’s one of my favorite fine jewelry designers! i worked in their tribeca office during the summers in college; the cable design was inspired by the manhattan bridge and other vintage styles during the 70s 😊
@@tonyabillings201 I'll explain. Women who work in office spaces in need to carry a lot of objects do not have beautiful bags or backpacks that offer a luxury feel. Because luxury bags tend to be made of leather and are extremely heavy but we already have a lot of heavy objects to carry in the said bag. Luxury houses abhor real life and do not make a decent-looking backpack for us. Because all the horror having a backpack that is big enough and fits things ,right? So goyard is a light bag that is luxury so it signals they the person that is using them is not a schoolgirl. I wear my backpack everyday but sometimes I'm really tired of looking like a teenager. No I don't have a goyard because it's extremely expensive but if it were a decent price I would have one cuz I like the look and the weight of it. The only good looking backpack is Prada and it's not large enough
I love when you do these videos. You pull out such awesome insights and provide excellent examples and add your opinion as the cherry on top. Super informative AND massively entertaining. Thank you!
I think it’s less about the bags being popular still, and more that bags like the Dior Tote and Jodie are dropping in price on the resale market. Those who have always wanted the bags but didn’t want to pay full price are finally getting their moment
Exactly! Someone who loved the Bottega bag 2 years ago has probably saved and is just now getting it preloved. I think trend lists like this are always going to be 1-2 years behind "current" trends because that's when "the masses" (i.e. people who have to save and/or buy preloved when the price has dropped more than $5 off the retail price) often are able to get their hands on the previous year or two's hot "new" bag.
I have no way to prove if this is true, but as someone who only buys preloved I know that my purchases run two or three years behind trend. That might be why you're seeing the Dior book tote & BV Jodie. People that buy new refresh their closets every few years and sell to Fashionphile/TheRealReal, and then they show up in droves on sale. I saw maybe twenty new Alexander McQueen wool scarves pop up in a print from 2023 last month and they were all snapped up. Great video as always! I've been stuck inside with Covid for the past week and your videos are giving me a fashion degree!
Here’s my take on the top 10 bags: I am honestly not at all surprised!! You are a FASHUN fashion girlie, which means you are ground floor with all of the trends as they cycle through. I think almost all of those top 10 bags are being sold to people who are not necessarily collectors. It’s their first luxury bag, it’s very mass-market friendly. Everyday wearable. I hope I’m making sense! I could see those bags being sold to people that are not fashion girlies. They don’t necessarily care what’s on trend, they just want a luxury bag and those are some of the most widely popular styles. It can take years for trends to hit that “bottom tier” of the market. I hope that makes sense! (And I hope it didn’t come off as rude… people like what they like and can buy whatever they want!!)
As on older millennial, I think our thing for logos may have something to do with the fact that most of us came of age during the hip hop/streetwear giant logo craze.
I am a @FASHIONPHILE customer for years now, and I find this report very interesting and right on point! I have been buying more leather pieces in the last couple years, and this report is consistent on the way of my purchases. Thanks for another great video, Cassie! Enjoy your weekend! #fashionphile
I loved my Fendi Sunshine so much I bought 2! I may even buy the 3rd in white. ❤ Great video Cassie! PS. I also still have the Dior book tote because as a mom totes are just so practical & my style is very vintage inspired and I like that old lady carpet bag look 😂. I noticed practicality is a common thread between the bags on this list!
The Pochette Metis is one of my most used bags, the perfect travel, day to night bag! I have 2 of them, considering adding another one to my collection!
Loving the East/West versions. CD D-Joy, LV PM E/W and the Diana bag. Yum! And I'm thinking the Book Tote is staying high up there because of the smaller versions.
This video is it!!! Brillant! Please keep doing them. I love when you do informative videos, amongst other things. Really loved the one when you gave your opinion on people's luxury wishlist items. Your opinions are spot on. This is def your niche!!! Really enjoy!
Hi Cassie, great video as always. I did want to point something out as a 55 year old, I consider myself Gen X. According to Wikipedia, "oldest Gen Xer is 59 years old and the youngest is, or is turning, 43 years old in 2024". Fashionphile may have a different source for categorizing the different generations.
It's Always A Beautiful Wonderful Day When Cassie Posted A New Video🥹🥹💗✨ sending you lots of love and blessings and I will always support you so so so so much
I’m 68 and 10 months old. I discovered Veronica Beard’s Dash Bag, and bought it in mushroom suede. It’s structured, but not hard. I also bought the midsize Loewe Flamenco bag in olive green. I’m dropping the mic.
Love your content, Cassie! And your entire vibe. Thank you thank you. However, I also love the Puzzle Edge 😂! It’s just so slouchy and buttery. The normal one (which I don’t own) just seems so boxy and overwrought. Why so much leather stitched to leather. 😂 Anyway, there is one Edge lover out here. But keep up the amazing work and best of luck to you! 😊
For me the Goyard Artois cannot compete with a LV Neverfull, LV Neverfull is work horse & honestly i feel in Ldn they’re both as commonly seen out & about so exclusivity aspect is out the window🤭 Another note i love this videos, give me fashion data and history anyday, i can’t get enough
Will always love the Pochette Metis . Just got my sis the classical monogram when she was looking into buying her first (for multiple occasions 😅). Am wearing my reverse monogram a lot again too
I think that some of these bags were popular but only among fashion influencers a few years ago. Now they are becoming popular beyond just the influencers. That’s why I think some things like the Jodie and the Prada bag are still top on this list.
This was so interesting because there's two LV bags I see a lot more often than I used to see LV bags in denmark in my local city - usually i'd see a neverfull occassionally but now it's either the pochette metis OR it's the bigger square bucket like tote-crossbody thing I've no idea what is called. my impression is that a lot of them are from the resale market. Those two LVs and variations on the classic flap (or dupes of it) are probably what is most popular here. Sidenote: a local brand completely ripped off BV's braided leather & slouchy look style for their own take on it and that bag is EVERYWHERE in multiply different sizes and colours. It's kind of hilarious because when they started to appear I was like "since when can danish teenagers afford BV?!" but then I got an ig ad for the brand and was like "ooooohhhhh" 😂😂
I loved this video ( and all of them - I’ve been binging your videos) I think ppl are going for the older trends they loved at one point. Now they can afford them they are purchasing. I thought about a small Gucci GG belt I wanted back in 2018 for nostalgic sake. 🤷🏽♀️
As we get older, lightweight bags are what we want on the daily, hence the interest in LV or Goyard canvas and the Prada nylon. Taking grandchildren out and about also means practicality/wipe ability and we don’t really want to buy new for that. Our shoulders are knackered from 30 years of big and heavy, leather bag carrying so the Chanel classic flap makes an appearance only occasionally as our ‘good bag’. 😂
❤wow ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️very interesting 🥰 I never !!! 😆 seriously would have never thought but it really makes sense … thank you for sharing Cassie ( BTW …🤗 I’m a Baby Boomer and do own a couple of bags you mentioned ..)
That goyard tote does not give luxury to me but...that Saigon is chefs kiss for the hyper feminine ladylike aesthetic. I think the Saigon is a good alternative for the Lady Dior
I own a couple of Chanel wallet on chains and LOVE THEM!!! As an older women the crossbody style is soooo easy and no need to carry everything but the kitchen sink.
I considered selling my Pochette Métis and so glad I didn’t she is just so good. Sold my marmont and regret it so this all makes sense to me. Finally bought a Chanel Woc this year wish I had done that sooner too. Goyard just no 😂
The Gucci marmot in the color shown is my most worn bag. Perfect color and style for most occasions. Looks better than YSL. Also DY jewelry has many gorgeous pieces. Spend a lot $$ on them, wear it daily, and there are always new collections that get better and better.
They pinned me with the YSL camera bag lol... I'm looking to get the beige/gold & the black/silver mini lous very soon! I think they'd be great little crossbody bags for running errands & when I'm out shopping.
I love the roulis. It’s been on my wishlist for ages. You can get them under retail preloved and it’s safer to travel with vs Kelly/Birkin because it’s less known. I’m just waiting to find the right color to buy
Great video. The Loewe Puzzle bag makes the most sense to me. It was interesting to see bags that l thought peaked in 2022 are still very much in demand today! Like you said. People want what they want!! If you like it. I love it for you! I am the same way. If l like an item that is deemed as uncool. I don't care!!! I will wear it til it falls apart and they l will bring out my back up because l have 5 more🤣🤣🤣. So there!😛.
Cassie, since there’s plenty of talk of totes here I’d like to add my very favorite summer tote brand Rani Arabella. Their fabrics are what makes their bags, I have the carousel in blue and it’s gorgeous. I’ve nerve indulged in their scarves and hats, but I truly covet one of the bucket hats. They’re FUN textiles, like La Double J or my former love Oilily (RIP), very bright and cheerful.
It makes sense that these bags that were trending a few years ago are now the bestsellers on the preloved market. Because the trend is over people are selling more. And people who like a bargain don’t but the newest trends/ styles
I have never understood the appeal of the puzzle bag. It is so difficult to get into and the strap is disportionally thick. I love blue too. 💙 Actually very neutral - goes with everything!
Hey I carry what I like and what fits my lifestyle… I love big bags and totes ! Small crossbody bags don’t fit my daily life other than if I’m going out for dinner . I’m happy with my Goyard tote . I can honestly say I was tired of seeing the LV neverfull in the canvas ! Everyone I mean everyone has them . I sold my two and have no regrets….
Outside of Fashionphile placing my age category under the Boomers ( I am most certainly Gen X), their list was eye opening (the Book Tote). Thanks for keeping updates Cassie, and have a great weekend!❤
Im very happy that i live in an area where you dont really see luxury bags in the wild. I will say that the bottega veneta jodie will be on trend as long as dupes of the bag are being produced. I love my jodie so much, im sure my other bags are feeling jealous. 😂
I really like the look of pochette metis, construction wise, but I absolutely despise the all over monogram. If you know of another bag with the same design but sans the blasted LV, let me know.
Hermes Sac Roulis whaaaaaaat. Hahahaha that took me out of it. I think fashionphile needs to explain how they’re conducting their research because the math isn’t mathing. 😅
Agreed it’s perfect.
Cassie - “blue is my color of choice.”
All the green bags behind you 😒

Blue and green are my colors also. Also black. And purple. Not fond of red, and definitely not pink, unless it's hot pink. So Cassie has some green bags. They look nice on her shelves. (Jan Griffiths).
I would add *suluxy* to this list. It's really popular.
This is not an advertisement of any kind, but *suluxy* I am so impressed with the quality of their performance!
The Goyard bag reminds me of the cheap old linoleum from the student dorm where I lived for 6 years during my college education.😅
😭😂😂
but it doesn't wear as well.
The difference is that those bags probably lasted longer
Lol exactly but like folks above said lasted longer quality wise.
Exactly
I think the number of “older” styles making the list has to do with the volume of inventory. As trends fade, people may sell them to preloved sites and so preloved sites will have more and more in inventory as time passes. So popularity here could be more of a function of supply than demand.

Goyard looks a five dollar grocery bag. I REALLY don’t see it as luxurious….😕

@@tonyabillings201 whew! Thank you! I thought, is it just me??

I live in Dubai and can attest to the fact that between Jan and May of this year, every second person was wearing the LV Pochette Metis
I find it joyful that the top colors bought preloved aren't neutrals. So many "style" influencers live and die by neutral EVERYTHING
I'm glad you find it joyful too! 💖

I agree, Cassie. Many of the bags strike me as relative 'has beens'. Except for the classic Fendi Baguette, of course.😂🌻
Yikes!
TBE forever! I just found the black Kusama black monogram mini speedy(at a reasonable price) for my birthday, and I’m so excited!
Every time I see the linked G Gucci logo, I immediately think “Cover Girl”. They had a similarly shaped logo way back when.

At the current price of EVERYTHING- saving for what seems like a lifetime for a handbag is kind of off putting but it doesn’t cost to look.
When people are saying MOMCOCO’s bag is a better option,I very much agree!
I really like the look of pochette metis, construction wise, but I absolutely despise the all over monogram. If you know of another bag with the same design but sans the blasted LV, let me know.
Just annoyed that they said Boomers 55 plus when 1964 is the end of the boomer age which puts them at 60. At 57, I'm a Gen X. Just pointing that out.
Agreed. Their years/generations are off. I'm Gen X, 56 years-old

I don't understand the appeal of Goyard.
I’m wish you 🙈
❤❤❤Fendi Baguette ❤❤❤
Some of these popular bags people still own and still carry. I am not really surprised by the sales, especially since the resell market is what it is.
What about Alexander McQueen black skull wallet on chain with black gunmetal chain
Happily, I think we can expect the trends to last longer now for the folks who are waiting for some styles to hit the preloved market. I welcome it :)
Hermes Sac Roulis whaaaaaaat. Hahahaha that took me out of it. I think fashionphile needs to explain how they’re conducting their research because the math isn’t mathing. 😅
It was based on sales 😮
They run through the search words. From there they can even break down into purchases via age groups. It’s so cool.
I’ve never heard or seen of one! Interesting!
