  • I've noticed a little trend happening across the huge designer brands in the NEW beginner designer items they're rolling out because everything has gone up in price so wildly. Whereas you could pick up a wallet for £300 a few years ago to start your luxury journey, the goal posts have shifted so I've noticed this introduction of new beginner designer items that brands like Loro Piana, Miu Miu, Chanel, Loewe and even Schiaparelli are offering...ENJOY!

I bought a knockoff of a Chanel brooch for $20 to compare materials etc. The real one cost $800 and is made of the exact same materials - brass, synthetic pearls, glass. The other is a $40 knockoff of a *esluxy* backpack - also for comparison - I can't find any difference and still use it at the gym

I’ve seen a handful of Birkin dupe videos & this one looks super close to the real one. (The leather doesn’t look too grainy/vainy) I brought a dupe Birkin a while back but was afraid what the luxury community would say if I made a video on it lol. But now you inspired me to make one because I have some thoughts on the Birkin bag in general Can’t wait to hear an update on *esluxy* !

For a long time, with the price of Chanel going up, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I would be happy that I have a *esluxy* as my travel bag and I don't have to take care of it. By the way, I believe no one will have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.

If you’re just starting a luxury journey, or even if you’re not, imo the only way to go is preloved. Plus all of the veteran spenders will tell you , you need to learn what you really love through experience using the product. So spend less in the beginning, and buy after you give some preloved versions a test drive.

Call me old school but luxury was about materials and craftsmanship; you paid for the quality and design that defined the label. Now it just seems to be about the labels. Enter luxury trinkets (bag charms).

OMG! so I got a Balenciaga city bag as a gift from my father on my birthday. It was an extreme honor to get such a gift and I am immensely grateful to him. Legit cried when he gave it to me. Beautiful bag, fits my shit, fits with clothes I have - love it. Use it all the time, as I am less of a collector or a reseller and more "I like this piece and will genuinely use it."
So for fun we decided just to check how much does a charm that I found interesting cost, and a metal chain. This is KaDeWe in Berlin.
    500 and 600 euros respectively.
We both went gray and walked the fuck out of that store. I instead happily hung a charm of Paddington bear and bunch of other shit that I have; that Paddington bear was a charm I got on my first ever trip to the UK, so its a lovely memory.

Hi Cassie! I’ve been watching you for a few years now, big fan of your content. I’ve been looking for an east west bag but not sure which one I want. Can you do a video of east west bags in different price ranges?

I hate the prices of everything “luxury” these days because for me even when I was shopping a new brand I hadn’t shopped before I usually tend to steer towards their introductory pieces to see if the quality and durability is there in those pieces before I branch out and buy big ticket items, so the fact that all that’s offered below $500 these days is shit like bag charms irks me to no end and makes me not want to shop any brands I don’t already have a relationship with which is sad because I think luxury shopping should be fun and exploratory like who doesn’t want that walking around with arms full of shopping bags moment?! And the currently market makes that impossible, they have really lost the plot!

A phone strap is a game changer for mini bags. No longer need a bag to carry a phone. Get way more wear from the tiny bags than ever before. Ive got a metal silver chain strap so goes with everything. Just need cards & keys to fit in bag most days. Im not extra enough for a lipgloss 😂
Love a bag charm. Those loewe ones are adorable. V expensive tho 😢 If they come out with a Pomeranian one Im sold

I have the YSL brooch, and I love it!! I feel buying brooches are like on the second to third tier of the luxury hierarchy. For bags girls can look at brands like JACQUEMUS or Coach for those entry level pieces!!

Hey Cassie, do you own any black bags? 🤔 I always look at your wonderful wall of colorful bags (which I love) and I don’t see any dark bags. For me beige, black and brown are neutral colors in any wardrobe bags or clothes. I was just curious. 😊❤

As far as entry-level luxury goes, I think it's down to what you call luxury and whether logos matter or not. If logo's dont matter, then it's probably all down to something feeling like it's quality.
I'm not into a luxury charm as a logo heavy bit of bling, especially as if it's on a lesser known bag, it does smack of wannabe, imho. Useful mini bags used as charms are a different matter, especially when attached to their bigger sister.
I'm all about the brooches, but not ones with big logos. I love the Chanel CC one, but I'm never going to pay that sort of money on costume jewellery (and logos aren't my thing). I'm definitely more up for something like the Schiaperelli than Loewe as they're not to overt in terms of brand.

As an opposite approach, i saved up for the #1 most expensive bag im willing to pay for, and went straight for it. (its now above my line) Now im collecting the smaller ones that i like. You can get quite stuck in entry-level ideology and end up spending more than you would have if you dove straight in!! that chanel for 3k for the mini....ouch! Always compare! especially to jewelry. Which is it, 2ct diamond earrings or a mini bag from chanel

I also think that the micro and small leather goods ‘bags’ and section is a good way at a lower and more acceptable price point to try out a brands quality if you have never purchased from them before 🤷🏻‍♀️

The cheapest smallest pieces/accessories *usually* because the prices of the main items are too expensive/less approachable. It reminds me of Chanel costume jewellery in the past. Now most people realise that was mostly a waste of money

This may fall under beauty, but I'm surprised perfumes didn't come up. Even Fendi just launched some overpriced smell-goods this summer! For the average person, starter would probably be $3-500, and perfumes are the only things outside of Loewe dice that are in that price bracket

The quality and workmanship of HQDUPS's high-end imitation bags are very satisfactory. The soft and delicate leather shows that the materials are quite good. The texture of the metal accessories also makes the bag look very high-end. The fine processing of details makes this bag look no less inferior to the original.
