Lowell Summer Music Series 9-4-21 Boarding House Park With Alberta Hunter's version of the Jimmy Cox classic. Francesco Turrisi on banjo & Jason Sypher on bass
This woman's voice pierces my soul. In a different way but much like Julie Londons. Riveting🥰 I think she could do the Pink Floyd song The great gig in the sky! I would like to hear her do that one😊
We still...STILL ...have so far to go! I pray for my brothers and sisters , especially in the South, still "fighting" that endless war for almost 300 years!!!
Awesome thanks for sharing and sorry I missed this show. Like @lesliemiller I saw here in NH with the Carolina chocolate drops and the whole band was spot.
Where and when in NH? I'd love to have seen her live. I did see Tom Rush four or five years ago in Milford. Many years ago the brother of a friend mine had a coffee house in Peterborough. They had some best up and coming singers. Stan Rodgers was a regular.
Alberta Hunter was not a blues singer. She sang some blues, but she was anything but. And if she knew anything she would mention that Chris Albertson was the one who brought Alberta back. Terrible fiddle solo.
I love Rhiannon Giddens. She's a great musician, singer, and she's gorgeous. She's got it all!
and a Certified Genius
I agree, lovely honest hunble , living a good life
I'm convinced this amazing lady could sing the telephone directory and make it sound 👌 fab
God bless her and the Carolina Chocolate Drops for keeping the old music alive.
Been a huge fan since I first saw her on Nashville. Love everything she's done.
A beautiful soul and a true virtuoso talent.
Wow, just wow. Muscian, wonderful singer, historian keeping the unknown greats alive. Music that moves me. Yes, a new fan.
My Dad used to sing this song in his band, may he rest in peace. You just gave me the chills.
What a great rendition. I love this song by so many different artists, but Rhiannon gives it something special.
Have just discovered this wonderful singer/musician! What a treat!
My late mother was also a nurse for most of her life.......❤
Rhiannon you are amazing.
Now that’s one talented musician
The lady was born to be a teacher!
Ooops ... new profession?
I am a brand new convert and FAN . Bravo Beautiful Lady ❤

She's just freaky good
Another cool Lowell SMS 2021 show. Thanks for sharing Randy. I never heard (or heard of) rhythm banjo before. But it works.

Fascinating bass player...
Rhiannon Giddens ❤👍
Wow this is good
God, is she good!
Ez is aranyos! Jó kíséret! Így kell egy nagyon jó énekest nagyon jól kísérni (az olyan közönségnek, amilyen én vagyok - a hegedű kicsit nyekereg).
I first saw her with the Carolina chocolate drops
She has a great bass player
Terrific.

Boz Skaggs has a great rendition of this song
That's true!
I never thought I'd say this, but, um, Eric who?
