That will happen as cost of living rises, and many who are chemical dependent seek assistance outside of prison. Community shelters and such should be no problem for the wealthiest (those with the most) could be good people and help the world!

All through out North American cities they have removed benches and resting areas as much as they can. Train stations are bare of seating. And where there are benches they have strategic arm rests (so that no one can sleep on the bench). This is just one of many tactics to make it difficult for the homeless to squat.
    .
Too many people believe that the homeless want to become productive members of society with good paying jobs and warm comfy homes. Unfortunately that is simply not true. Our homeless have mental health issues and I do feel bad for them - but they do not want to be party of our society. Their free-riding actions are becoming ever more expensive to our society, a health hazard to themselves and to their immediate community.
    .
What is the answer? I don't know, but we have to be honest and say this issue is becoming more and more expensive and is only growing.
    .
Just think of the next generation of toddlers and ask yourself - how can we make sure those little children don't grow up to become part of our homeless community?

In winter of 2021/22 many homeless in Toronto were offered housing in large motels that were closed and due to be refurbished. They are provided with a room and hot meals each day. They are not permitted visitors. As the refurbishment takes place floor by floor the homeless (that are still alive, as many die from drug use) are moved to upper floors. I worry what will happen when the refurbishment is complete as the govt. cheque for most of these people is only approx $200/month and many have mental wellbeing issues that are unseen which limit their working opportunities. 😔

Thanks so much for this excellent video, Johnny Strides! With all due respect to everyone, why did the city allow these tents to be set up in the first place. Just because it is a public space, don't think it meant for anyone to set up a tent & live there!! Am glad to see most gone but I also hope the city found suitable accommodations to house the homeless ie: vacant buildings the city owns or vacant buildings like that building owned by a church group & left vacant for a few years. There are options to move the remaining out of the park & First Nations or not, these tent people have no right to occupy the park & to keep you, Johnny Strides, or anyone, from filming, since it is a public area. Public parks are for people, families, to enjoy at their leisure for a picnic, etc. without fearing of not being safe! Cheers & stay dry & safe!🥰🥰🦅🦅🦅🦅

You say that, but the park is much more accessible now than it was under Tory's last years. We'll see but it's hard to pin such an issue on squarely on a mayor, one who's made no policy changes so far that would lead to increased homelessness.
