Easily one of the best looking blades I have ever seen. Looks like it also performs as good as it looks (which is not always the case). A functional work of art!
Just ordered mine last week after seeing this vid. Plan to order at least 4 (giving 1 to my brother). This is a blade i plan to have with me everywhere. Love your design upgrades for this.
That’s not a knife it’s a beast!! Nothing and I mean nothing stands against this beast of a blade !! You can hear the sharpness when you shave with it ! Great video brother stay save ❤️
the more i'm watching this, the more i appreciate this Bowie...how did it go under my radar for so long..?? waiting for a Dbad Arkansas Toothpick to arrive, this will be following next most probably...
I got this with the War Machine. This is perhaps the greatest knife I've ever held! Feels great in the hand, and handles smoothly. I can wield this beast like a short sword. It's the best knife with weight and balance to do the Filipino florette drills. That sharpened swedge just makes it more devastating by making it a double cut. I also have the Stallone Signature Rambo III, and Hibben III 8" blade. The movie edition is a little tough to handle, but the Hibben does come close in terms of feel in the hand. This one still wins, and clearly outperforms the other 2 blades by a mile. Rambo III was always my favorite Rambo knife, and this is the best iteration of that blade I've ever seen or held. If I had to pick one knife as an everyday carry (assuming I'm not in my home state of NY with their tyrannical knife laws haha), this would be it! I would love to compare this to the original Hibben handmade, but only a few were ever made, and they're incredibly hard to get without breaking the bank.
That is one awesome knife! I always thought someone should make a proper Rambo knife that can actually be used. (Not like the ones that are made for sitting on someone's shelf) Great video/knife!
The only drawback I see is the edge- needs more belly and a continuously-curving cutting edge. Improves on the slice-ability of the blade... I like the thickness! Really nice knife, a major improvement over most copies on the market. We can see why it has become a "Donnie B favorite"... Sure enhances one's confidence over other knives of similar design, and much larger and one would be carrying a short sword... The sheath leather looks a bit thin for such a heavy, large knife, but adequate Im sure. Another outta the ball park for DBAD and K-house... Great review.
holy crap, brother! looks like you and khhi comes through again! thats quite a nice blade. Very well done, im impressed. Once business picks up, my first "for fun" purchases will be quite a few knives. I just know the wait will kill me.

Donnie, I have a knife by Poshland REG 274, which is an absolutely dedicated fighting knife! It it not large, 7 inches, but that handle just pulls you in and won't let you go! Give it a go?
Apparently, Gil Hibben designed his Kenpo Karate knife in 1968 for his black belt thesis. The forward angled guard was intended for the user to place thumb on top employing a so-called "Chinese Fist" grip. The forward angled guard seems to be a very distinctive feature on Hibben designed knives. Are you aware of any other examples of this on historical blades prior to Hibben using it, or is this feature actually an invention of his??
While there have been many forward leaning knife guards in history (many leaning D-guards) there are no such interpretations throughout the martial arts. It never caught on as traditional grips proved more solid in multiple fighting techniques
It just came in a few days ago, and good golly it is amazing! I saw your other video about taking care of the high carbon blades, and I followed those steps. Cleaned off their oil with warm water and dawn dish soap, dried it, oiled it up with rem oil, and then stored it back in its sheath. But I noticed that it started to get small spots of rust on random places. I wonder if you can give me some tips of how to prevent that from happening any further, and perhaps maybe a how-to video of re-polishing a previously rusted blade? Can’t wait to take this camping! Thanks!
Love your stuff Donnie B! Looking to do some hiking this weekend and havent bought a knife in ages so i want to get something solid for the trip. What would you recommend for the best long blade survival knife under $100?
As a hiking blade, I know it isn't the prettiest Bowie made, but for around $15 the Szco High Carbon Bowie will out last most blades on the market. I did just a little customizing on mine and it looks like it performs.
Really? Man I just came across your channel. This is the 2nd video I have watched. The first one was the review on the outback knife. I am really liking the designs you have come up with. I’m just not sure but the handle thickness looks huge. I wear a medium size glove. I will continue watching your videos and drooling over the blades. I would love to own some but not if the handles are to fat. That’s like William “WC Knives” on TH-cam. He makes some great knives. I own one of his custom knives and love it except for the handle thickness. He is a big guy and most his knives have big handles. New sub here 👍.
My grips are designed to work. I can't stand a bad grip. If the best part is that when one of my knives is order you can do a custom request to have a thinner grip if you like
@@DonnieBAllDay that is great thanks for the quick reply. I’m gonna see if I can get in touch with them about a thinner handle to fit my hands. I already have my eye on 4 of the knives that I want. Hey brother I am on the website looking to buy this beautiful beast and the blade length is kind of throwing me. What is the default length you talked about in this video to maintain the perfect balance? Cause the blade length is all over the place on the site.
The true measurements are inside of the description. That's really all you need. Will you need. When you order it comes that way specifically and they give you options to change the lengths
All of my production designs, dbad Creations, are sold through www.thekhukurihouse.com and this one will be on the site very soon but can still be ordered.
Donnie, I didn't realize but you are the person who got KHHI to build this knife. Is that correct? If so, many thanks. I briefly had a Gil Hibben version (the one they sell at malls) years ago but returned it when I realized what crap it was (and Gil puts his name on this! Unbelievable). I always loved the design and wished Gil would make the real deal. He didn't but you and KHHI made it happen and now I have one ordered and on the way. Interesting story, (third hand but I think it's true), Stallone had a "real" Rambo III knife and was on set when someone asked if it was any good. He turned around and thrust it into the aluminum sidewall of a trailer and pulled it down and it cut a huge gash. Knife blade unaffected.
@@DonnieBAllDay Donnie, got the knife. All is good on it but ... the palmswell. In my experience a palmswell should be positioned midway on a knife handle or slightly forward. However this knife has it slightly back from the middle, right under my ring finger, making it an odd fit and feel, almost a hotspot. Not sure if I'm being too picky. What is the nature of palmswells?
@@RealNowTruth Its due to the physics of the guard angle. The thumb webbing is forced farther up on the spine, altering where the fingers rest. The swells center should be between the middle and ring finger. Of course that depends on hand size too. The forward leaning guard creates a swell that leans rearward for forward propulsion in the swing creating a false point of balance and lessen stress on the wrist.
Congrats Bro, that's f*ckin' badazz! I felt and shared your pride every time you looked at this. Revel in it, cause you deserve it. That is a softtail drive-by zombie beheader for sure. Dixon Brothers Daryl and Merle would be proud to wield it and make Rambo jealous. You need to take a black and while or sepia picture of yourself sitting on the stump, pretending to go down the blade with a stone adding sparks for the facebook page, haha. I have hoppes for other toys, and have used for storing blades, but I'm going to play with them a few times a year, I'll use mineral oil. Saturate, let it sit out on a tower for a few days to absorb, and it's perfect. Then I'll give it another spritz and wipe down before putting it away for a while. I filled up my EDCi bottle with it, so I can easily disperse it, rub it in with my hands, then wipe it down with an old t-shirt or shop rag. Love the marvel comics THUNK when it hits. Audio/Video stimulation ENGAGED! Those branches are frozen to the core and it bit the sh!t out of them, crazy force. Like a mac truck hitting a spun out smart car on the highway at full speed on the turnpike. Now get your azz in the house, warm up, wash that pork loin, chop it up with the mission and get it in some marinade, mmm.
Super disappointed. Broke it in less than 5 minutes. I hope they are good with their warranty. Broke one inch off the tip on my first throw into some soft tree in my back yard. Hope it’s a freak thing cause I have the gator tail and the preacher being made now. I’m gonna record the next two. I’m not gonna say the company’s bad but We’ll see with next two. It was beautiful and the sheath was perfect. I’m shocked and think I got the bad one.

The swells center should be between the middle and ring finger. Of course that depends on hand size too. The forward leaning guard creates a swell that leans rearward for forward propulsion in the swing creating a false point of balance and lessen stress on the wrist.
Hey that one came out nice!!
Thanks!
I’m love that knife, damn it I’m going to have to figure out how to get one now
All your designs are fantastic and very over built #22aday
Over built it the way to go
Sweet......Sweet....Sweet.
Oh yeah!
Bro, I just ordered the mission 3 and the OEF defender. Thanks
Your knife collection is about to make people very jealous! haha
@@DonnieBAllDay LOL, Thank you for designing these awesome knives.
Update, Now I almost have all of the dbad collection. This shit is addicting but awesome! Thanks bro.
@@delvec2011 Your collection is starting to look like mine!
Not seeing it on the site? When will it be available?
It usually gets put up within a week of the video
Took me an hour to get the chills out of my bones! Haha

Soooo nasty!
Dbad or cold steel Wild West Bowie?
I'll take my Mission III all day long
@@DonnieBAllDay how long does it take to ship if bought today?
@@Joe-xx7lr They hand forge every one per order. Usually a month forged and shipped
@@Joe-xx7lr You can also check their different depots to see if they have any ready to ship
Wow!! That's crazy! There might have been an internal crack. It happens. You see me let loose on these things. They'll take care of you.
@@DonnieBAllDay ya they said I was the first person to have that happen I sent them pictures and everything. Stuff happens. I just want to have fun with a real knife and not worry about it.
@@DonnieBAllDay I’ll send you the pictures if you’re interested. I was wondering if I could get somebody could tell me if the can see what happened. Like grain structure or whatever. Let me know where to send them. I don’t know if they are going to have me send the knife back. If they don’t I’ll send it to you to check out
@@fullybeardedreviews3476 Most of the time, they tell you to keep it and just send a new one. Definitely send me pics to donnieballday@gmail.com because this is pretty rare, but common among knives. Anyone who's ever been on forged in fire will tell you about the invisible cracks that can happen.
@@fullybeardedreviews3476 most definitely
Nicely done!! A real beauty!!
