Kuja is so weird man
Not only does he's a mage but SPEED-type.
Not only does his ex skill is more complicated than Ace's Cut card.
Not only does he looks on par with Sephiroth.
But also how weird his moves are.
In short, he's really a SHOOT- type character that played like SPEED-type. He got both good and bad part of both role and a lot match I've make me question a lot of thing. Like how can Speed-type with low combo potential be good, Or SHOOT- type without range be viable. But not gonna lie. Despite the amount of headache I got from research his Ex skill statue. I like how his skill and playstyle work.

Kuja is good character but i hate his gay voice. Glad to see Ramuh has been used more often.
And eventually he will be use WAY too often other summons will be forgotten.(They can't seem to balance summons properly did they)
i don't know but leviathan have been forgotten for a long time. When i play y'shtola and try to pick leviathan, my teammate pick Alexander instead.
His gay voice is amazing though.

For some reason I never liked Leviathan XD.... All hate aside, maybe because his bubble attack is soooo and tsunami looks like a small ranged attack

Trueblade about the new character, i suppose to be a veteran hero because I think it has a pattern of new characters.
For exemple:
1° New comer
2° Veteran Villain
3° Veteran Villain
4° Veteran Hero and repeat.
Kuja is the second veteran villain so next will probably be Laguna, Yuna, Prishe or Tifa
Rapid Fire I hope it's Tifa coming next.

So glad he is back, he was my main from the PSP titles!
And I'm glad he got an actual alternate costume! I know other characters sometimes got the shaft too (like Jechts and Kefkas aren't all that varied), but Kujas alternates were all just literal palette swaps (a.k.a. using the default model and just changing the color of something)
His dlc outfit was better (albeit paid dlc), it actually did change stuff. But not dreadfully much. gave his default outfit frills, gold, and a hat

Kinda weird moveset. All of his attacks look the same..
Kuja is one of the characters I feel I wasn't that great with, but he was my second favorite villain, only below Sephiroth, and I can't wait to play him in this game!
it seems like they put way more effort into newer characters. Some of the older characters are underpowered when comparing with the newer ones.
Typical Release Strategy for pretty much anything.
Step One: Release something realy OP;
Step Two: Let it be OP for some time;
Step Three: Nerf Hammer the shit out of the OP character and buff the old ones;
Step Four: Profit

Kuja seems somewhat rushed to me design-wise. He lost a large portion of his skills and mechanics, and a lot of his skills are essentially duplicates of each other. What is your view on him?
Some part of him kindna rushed. Like Holy Raid and Holy Rise basically have the same animation. But other than that, he's pretty standard in term of bravery attacks. Neutral ground and midair copy paste damage and property is nothing new, A ton of characters have this. Two dash attacks that's look different but basically the same? we use to have only one dash attack until Kain come out.
His bravery attack are standard for me. HP attacks are pretty good. But I've to give a credit to whoever come up with his Ex skill. it's take me a while to research it.
I really like his HP attacks (minus Force Symphony), although compared to characters like Ace I feel like his bravery attacks are really lacking in variety.
His EX Skill (minus trance) seems ironic or inappropriate for his character. He isn't a character that's known for buffing allies yet he shoots out buffs even more frequently than Ramza. I'll really miss Auto-Magic.
I don't mind the build up to trance. I just don't agree with the allied buffing thing, it makes no sense on him. If they replaced that with how his trance skill used to function (auto-magic), I'd be fine with him even with his lackluster bravery moves.
KirbyGotenksabsorbed I think it fits him perfectely. His entire thing at the start of ff9 was basically giving Brahne an army and weapons, which you could see as buffing. If it furthers his aim, he really is not against giving his allies a temporary boost.
Emptilion exactly. Not to say that he helped Zidane and co. escape after defeating Necron.
I think Zidane and Kuja are going be just the same like they were in the other two Dissidia games
I didn't think they could make Kuja look more feminine. I was wrong.
Rutawind he actually looks more masculine here. More than ever before. Many people noticed that in his reveal trailer.
His abdomen isn't as prominent as it used to be.
He doesn't look any feminine to me anymore. Even despite his getup.
I think it's the masculine voice and the fact that we've known Kuja's gender for years working together this time.

Tidus is starting to lose hope as a character yet again.. :(
For some reason, Square tries to make Tidus a speed-style character with a cool moveset(Dodge moves, dash attacks) but they make the moves so terrible that he can barely do what he's meant to. It's really annoying, especially the original Dissidia Tidus. He's supposed to be a dodge attacker, but they put so much startup and ending lag that it's near impossible to land an attack. Quick Hit was the only reason Tidus still had merit for what he was. And now, in Arcade, they've ditched the original idea and remade him into a dash attacker, but his moves are on the weak side and really lackluster... I worry for the guy.
Kuja looks fun, though! He's stolen the old Zidane's moves, though...
I partly disagree though. I agree with you about old tidus. He has way too much startup animation for someone who's suppose to be hit and run fighter. But New Tidus is way more practical than before. He has the highest consistent movement speed in the entire game. his spin jump and swimming dive allow him the quickly go up and down very quickly, and if you good enough, it can be use like dodge attack but way faster and more flexible. There is a reason why he's still 5th most popular character. (Bonus: Slice & Dice still remain as one of the best attack for Triple kills)
Old tidus could but u just had to see the attack coming before the dodge now having the highest movespeed in the game and having dash attacks allows u to outplay anything

I already miss the old Force Symphony :( it felt much cooler to drop blasts on them from above than have this glistening burst close ranged... but alas, I don't get a say, at least he's back

Kuja is quite classic, he is one of the few characters to have almost no changes to his mechanics and none to his moves

Oh man, i hope this game appears in Europe. I only played Final fantasy X, Crisis Core and Dissidia from PSP, but i love this game.

Trueblade Seeker I know those orbs are his weapons, I was thinking of something like maybe flare orbs have higher damage while holy orb has longer range or something... And by using Kuja's ex skill "Soul Divider" to alter the amount of flare and holy orbs.
If that's the case, then He will be the most complicated and hardest character in the entire game.
I don't know, Square does tend to like complex stuffs hahaha
His EX skill was skeptical to me at first when I first saw the trailer, it got me thinking "Naah just giving buffs? It seems too straightforward hahaha"

I'm not sure where you're getting the Soul Divider stats increase numbers from. Both dffac-wiki and Famitsu pages don't have them. Plus, your descriptions for the EX Skill are off. From dffac-wiki and Famitsu:
(dffac) In addition to the buffs (listed), when attacks hit, Kuja's EX Skill gauge increase.
(Famitsu) Regardless of how many times the EX Skill is used, gauge charges more easily.
Neither sources say anything about getting a cooldown reduction.
Hardwork and Determination (Just kidding, kind of)
It's pure research, experiment and observation. I have to see a lot match and calculate damage base on each hit compare to his base attack damage.I double check it so I'm pretty sure with this number. ( that's why I can't kind Speed buff %, hell if I know just by just watch a video.)
Fair enough for the stat increase. Where are you getting that there's cooldown reduction? Nothing I've read (in Japanese) mentioned that.
Quote for dffac translation "In addition to the buffs (listed), when attacks hit, Kuja's EX Skill gauge increase."
I should correct something. Cooldown reduction buff work only when landing a hit. I also notice that the cooldown bar refill faster when he land an attack while having a buff.So double check.
The Japanese texts basically say: when Kuja's attack hit, the EX Skill gauge is charged. I guess that's some kind of cooldown reduction, but it's different from other kinds of cooldown reduction which already exist (e.g. 20 second cooldown --> 15 seconds). Also, the EX Skill gauge charge occurs at the same rate, regardless of what level Soul Divider/Resonance is used.

I see what they are going for here. They want Kujo to have more risk in his play cuz before you could just float around and just safely attack from a distance. With Ultima he can do that, but with this being team battles it may not be as effective. Since Kujo has powerful buffs and self buff. There is a need to balance that out.
Seems for high lvl of play the team with Kujo is gonna need a healer. Since his BV attacks are all close range he is constantly at risk of receiving damage and his buffs are dependent on his lifespan.

His attacks should have a better range when in trance mode. I don't understand how a mage can be limited to close range.
Kuja would be OK to use if the jist added one or two more

I have been watching a few of your videos now and am I correct that this game is well balanced and can be played competitively with some hard to master curves and good strategic action battles? Is it better than the original on psp?
Overall yes.
There are already many competitive tournament in the past year in japan and the game has constantly been balancing and make each character not too overpowered or under-powered. Some character are easy pick up and play (WOL,Kain) and some that hard to master but rewarding(Firion,Squall)
Better than PSP? it's depend on your taste mostly, do you prefer 1v1 that focus on reflect and skill or 3v3 that also require teamwork. And it's still in the arcade so who know how the console version will be like.

Christ they REALLY dumbed down this game compared to the last one didn't they. and the variety in attacks is pretty much gone and now they all look the friggin same. he use to have a move that fired slow holy rings at the enemy and now he has, hit people with blue spheres, hit people with red spheres and hit people with blue spheres above you. real nice remake there guys.
Oh trust me, You don't want someone like Kuja to have a projectile.
Trueblade Seeker kind of missing the point there buddy. his moveset along with many others now are really BLAND. the kind of attacks that all inevitably blends together into one clusterfuck of "what the hell is happening."
Yeah, I kindof joking earlier. I will admit, his attacks do seem like a copy paste. I think they want the make Kuja focus more on his Ex skill rather than regular attack, but at least I wish they could make an attack animation a little more interesting.
Maybe the fact that he's a speed type that should has a fast attack, so they don't really have an idea for his move or something?
Omfg comparing this ugly shit to Dissidia duodecim played on ppsspp x4 resolution it's like heaven and hell..Duodecim had so much flashy animations full of colours but this?
