Quite a transformation, Merv. I'm surprised you used tamiya thinners as a stripper, isn't that much more expensive than normal stripper (I use a stripper from a hardware store)😕🤔. I enjoyed the video and your solutions to reviving this model and ,I'm sure it's worth it. A javelin is on sale here and it's over £200,yes that's pound sterling👀👀😔
Yes, this is a real expensive kit to get off of evilbay. And is as scarce as hen teeth at model shows and other places where people sell their stashes. Normally, I would use Oven cleaner on a project like this. But having to leave the front windshield in, I wasn't sure how that was going to work. So, I thought I would try the Tamiya Lacquer thinner. As I had been told it does well on paint but doesn't harm the plastic. I'm gonna have to try some of that purple power that how many people have talked about, but I've never used.
@@maddogmerv I haven't found purple power over here but there must be similar. I use a domestic paint stripper called TX10. Its a gel.I don't know if it's available to you but it works well and leaves plastic clean and undamaged 👍and at a reasonable cost😉
Great job on your hood! Really enjoyed this. I am into saving old builds. 👍👍👍
Thanks. I'm glad you liked it. I think there's a lot of guys out there that enjoy the challenge of doing this. I know that I sure do.
It turned out lovely.Great re-hab.
Thank you
Nice save. 🏁
A true magician.
