Hey man! I know this comment is old so I don’t know where your stance still is on this. But I just want to let you know “Christian” is just a title. The real goal is a relationship with Jesus. Religion has been used to justify countless horrible things like the Spanish inquisition, Salem witch trials etc… At its core, a belief, trust and living your life through Jesus is what truly matters. Jesus never taught to be hateful or to do bad to others, he was a loving and just teacher. If you haven’t already I really hope you just look into his life and his teachings, don’t let others who claim to be “Christian” deter you from learning about and even more importantly having a relationship with Christ, cause he really does love you! I had the opposite experience from him. Grew up Catholic and as soon as I got to highschool I realized how non-Christian most Christians act. It’s supposed to be a religion about love and acceptance but from my experience it’s anything but that. I also was incredibly lazy and had a huge problem with procrastination. My excuse? I’ll get to do everything in Heaven. It made everything far easier to believe that there was always someone there for me, but eventually I started thinking “what if there is no God and I won’t be able to accomplish everything I want to in Heaven?” That thought becoming more and more prevalent in my mind as well as a variety of other factors I will not discuss caused me to agnostic/atheist. For clarification (because people always tell me I use those definitions wrong), I really don’t care if there is or isn’t a God. I don’t think there is, because of lack of scientific evidence, and I’ve leaned away from Christianity because most of them are either idiots or bigots/dogmatists, while the rest are using religion as a coping mechanism (good on them!) like Ryan here. That decision has made me far happier (albeit a bit nihilistic at times) and I’ve become far more productive and I’ve disciplined myself to get through mafan situations. May not seem like much, but we’ll get there. It may seem like I’m bashing Christianity, but I feel nothing but firgun for Ryan finding happiness in Jesus

Seeing him find something that makes him so truly happy is wonderful Weirdly I have the exact opposite story, being an atheist has idk, kinda freed me of the "chains" I was bound to ig? I'm not talking abt allowing me to do bad shit like robbing or anything those are morally and legally bad but I mean some things my parents would never approve cuz it isn't seen in very a good light in our religion. For example, drawing living things and creating sculptures just as a form of art, singing, dancing etc I'm not afraid to do what I love in fear of being punished anymore and I'm not anxious thinking there might be some celestial being constantly seeing everything I do. It's been a source of happiness for me

I am just catching this now, from 2 years ago. Wow! Very cool how Ryan shared his change of heart towards Christianity to eventually becoming a believer in Christ. Big respect for his decision to openly share a short version of his journey of becoming a Christian. He seems to always bring a next level authenticity to his content and this was a bold move. To speak about your faith nowadays seems to come at a high cost, but it’s refreshing, especially as a TH-camr that often challenges us to keep such deep beliefs hidden. I sincerely relate to his journey, as I was once an extremely cynical atheist, someone who questioned everything and put all religious beliefs under the microscope. I pushed hard in the opposite direction, convinced that faith and reason/logic were incompatible. I rarely share anything in comments but here goes… my life was completely flipped upside down when on the verge of an overdose, suicidal, hating the reality of this life I was never proud of even when I had everything I ever wanted - money, cars, surfboards valor and girls all around. The truth I came to realize: we are in a battle for our lives on this earth. The Bible says in Genesis 1:26-28 that we are given authority and dominion over this world, a responsibility and beyond this realm kind of power given through Christ. It's not just when we choose to follow Jesus that the battle begins-it’s a fight we've been in since birth, made in the image of God. But becoming a Christian equips us with the greatest weapons-the authority of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. It's like game over for the enemy once we tap into that authority. I have to say that there is power in how Ryan’s story reminds us that we are called to stand firm on the word of God, exercise dominion, and remain right with Him while the paradox of surrender and loving those who hate, blessing those who curse and turning the other cheek for someone who strikes you, that is a next level love that Christ says is possible on this earth. Life is warfare, but we’re not left defenseless-God provides for where He guides. I will say it again… way to go Ryan! Keep being fruitful and standing firm in your faith. Your journey is a powerful testimony of God’s work and purpose in each of us.

I’m atheist but this is what Christianity should be
Whatever floats your boat! As long as it’s not hurting anyone, believe in it. I am mostly atheist but I have made my own sort of creator figure. It’s comforting tbh. It makes me happy to see people finding comfort in a religion that speaks to them. :)
"Eh not sure I vibe with your religion. How bout I just make my own? : )"

That's not what I got from his message, and I doubt that's what he meant.
I'm sure what he means is he's mostly an atheist, though he believes their is a creator or god out there somewhere
So whilst he lives life with atheist beliefs and under that lens, he's not entirely convinced that there couldn't be a creator
I'm very much the same
I'm not an avid believer in the religions we have on earth
But I am inclined to believe that there has to be a creator of some kind

I am in the same boat. I was raised a Christian and rebelled and became an atheist/agnostic, but then I came to Hinduism through my own path and it has helped me so much.

Fear mongering does nothing. I don’t quite feel like reading a comment saying I’m going to burn forever and then choose to agree with that and live in forever fear. Be nicer next time and maybe I would consider. But your comment was basically “believe or die”

It’s not about religion it’s about a relationship with Jesus Christ OUR LORD AND SAVIOR 🙏🏻❤️✝️
Not a fan of religion personally but if it brings someone else joy I have no right to talk badly about it, no matter the religion.

Why are people praising for losing Faith, and becoming an Atheist.
But scoffed at for finding a Faith, and leaving Atheism behind.
Well, they're opposite things, so of course they'd have opposite reactions in some communities, but most of the time it's the other way around in this situation, and although I don't quite know what the metrics are here, there's a lot of people on both sides who are supportive
