Hey Meike, you were really lucky.🥰🙏🏽the damage is not that big, thank God. A little tip from me as a tree keeper for the big fallen tree. Please be very careful when sawing, because it is under tension at the branches and on the trunk because it is still connected to the root. Here is utmost caution when separating. Greetings from Germany 😉
Meike, I am so glad to see you walking around your property in good health. We watch the news report but often don't make the connection the ugly red and yellow masses are over and affecting the people we correspond with on a weekly basis. I am so glad to hear your voice and see you moving through your property. I'm sure you will have your property back in order in no time. I am so thankful you are safe. Thanks for Sharing! 🙃🙂
Hi Meike! I'm always amazed at how positive you are ... even after almost having everything washed away by a hurricane ... again! Glad that you're safe even if they made you evacuate. However, in hindsight, that mandatory evacuation was a good thing. I'm in NC and we never expected it to come this way and still be as destructive as it was. Lesson learned, never let your guard down and always be prepared with a backup plan. Stay safe my dear!!! ;)
Very true. I’m sorry to hear about all the destruction and damage. Crazy to know how far it went inland. Usually you always think just Florida gets hit. Most people are well prepared since it can happen anytime. This was my first time evacuating tho. Usually I stay.
It did considering the height and only small gaps in between the boards. It was literally like a wall… most other fences disappeared in the neighborhood. So mine did well
Red Boots! So glad you're safe. Looks like everything you've built has survived, so I guess all the build videos just got the "Hurricane Milton Seal of Approval" 😄
Yes pretty much 😂😜 I always get comments that my builds won’t last. Well I guess it’s tested now with a direct hit hurricane, which doesn’t happen often 👍
It's a bummer that all the hard work you did was taken out in an instant. I know you have the drive to rebuild and get things looking good again. However, the most important thing of all is that you are safe. I look forward to your future videos of your awesome work
Glad you had minimal damage. Those things can be fixed and replaced. You cannot be replaced. Glad you made it through this terrible storm. Keep your head up and it will get better. 😍💥💥💥
So glad you are ok... Live just north of you in Suth Georgia... We got Helene's eye pass over us... Sorry you have been hit three times... Glad your spirits are still high... A lot of work to do but you are not afraid of work... Be well and God bless...
Glad you survived but your strong in more ways than one so i knew you would👍 and alot of your creations still stand very impressive. Now you must rebuild so at least you will stay busy and you mind will be occupied. Let me know if you need help 😉 ☕ Meike&Coffee☕
Thank you! Yes most made it through which is great 👍 the fence is going to be difficult to lift back up, I hope I don’t have to disassemble all of it. But I will see
🥰 Good luck with cleaning up the mess ! Here in south -east Norway we are protected for most of the rough weathers , with the innland walleys and dense forests ... Winter can be pretty cold though, with temperatures of -20° C to - 30° C in december, january and february ... 😅
I'm glad to see you made it through safely, and with moderate property damage. We also lost our papaya trees, and one banana tree. 3 other banana trees survived. Sorry to hear you still have no power, we got ours back Friday, and the wi-fi came back yesterday. Ah, the joy of living through hurricane season in FL!
Sounds like you had a bit more luck than I have… still no WIFI but I do have electricity back now. Still no gas in the area tho and most stores are still closed.
@@WhatMeikeMakes we are probably relatively close, I was under a mandatory evacuation also here in Cape Coral. Most stores are open, and gas is just about back to normal. Hang in there, things are coming back much faster than after Ian.
So glad to see you are ok, the property can be rebuilt, which will make great content for your video’s, keep smiling and believing luv & hugs lovely lady
The two things I was thinking about were the bees and the 8 foot gate/wall . I see the bees made out fine and the wall took less damage than I imagined so thanks to fine German engineering 💪🤓 it's good that you only have minimal damage for what a hurricane can unleash when you were in it's direct path. Stay safe and good luck with the clean up of the trees.
Thanks Darren! I’m sooo happy the Bees made it out alive. I really thought I would loose them and really nothing else that I could have done. I’m happy the cinderblocks held the hives down, so they didn’t just blow away 💪👍
I'm glad you're safe, Meike. It's always hard loosing things that you've put your heart into building.. But it can always be replaced.. You can't. Take care, Sweetheart, stay safe❤
I was glad to hear you did evacuate. There was a lot of superficial damage. Thank the Lord there was not more chattle damage. It may take a couple of months for the land to drain completely. Overall, you were blessed, and we were spared one of our favorite persons...with new projects!
Hi Beautiful lady, glad you are OK! My heart is burdened for all of those impacted by these storms, in NC, SC, and other southern states, and of course FLA. Yay for the bees!!!!🐝 😊🙏👍❤
Meike I wish I could come down there and help you clean up and repair things. Most of all I am glad that you didn't get hurt and you were safe. Much love James from Washington state
So glad you are safe but so sorry for the damage even if it could have been much worse if you look at it from the bright side. Good luck with the repairs. Best wishes from Christer in Stockholm, Sweden ♥♥♥
Bonjour Meike. Olivier.

Minor damage, excellent. We've gotten more rain in the last 2 days, not including today, than before the hurricane. During the storm in SFla, no rain just wind.
Monkeypod wood is beautiful, Meike. Find a local mill that can slab and kiln dry those trees for you, if you can. Keep what you want and sell the rest.
Very true. I actually made a beautiful small table out of some of the wood in my previous video. So beautiful. It’s very light wood tho. Not sure if that would be a good or bad thing…
I do have that portable power station with solar panels. Problem was that it was overcast all day and the day after and I wasn’t able to charge anything 😂 I like the storm shelter idea, but then it’s really just like a regular cinderblocks house in a way. None of those took damage
@@WhatMeikeMakes hi, not having enough sunshine makes it difficult. I was thinking (if there's a next time)if you had the power station in place and charged so it's ready to go, it'd give you a few days of useful power, also plenty food and supplies, not sure what rules are in place regarding remaining at home during these events, but I'd rather hunker down with all my supplies, candles dvds etc
Do you know why you don't have too much damage? Because you build things very well! I'm a Contractor in California and I enjoy your channel very much. And I'm very happy you are safe and well.
One of the reasons is because I built a lot of stuff myself with German engineering 😜👍 I had luck with the wind too… while the hurricane was going from west to east (little north) all the wind I got was going north to south and I had angled a lot of the lighter items that could be moved, that way so it’s more aerodynamic.
