+Darien Seminoff They are both great machines, the cruise speeds are the same but the 530's extra HP gives it a heavier sling load, but it also uses more fuel so the endurance of the 530 is quite a bit shorter than the 500.
Darien Seminoff Your correct, I never understood that though, because they both use the same basic engine with different HP ratings, the parts for a 700 HP engine should be the same price as a 400 HP engine but they are not LOL
John doe Yeah I've always thought that myself, reason being its because Rolls Royce I guess.. I've always wanted a 500 with a turbomeca, yeah yeah... I know but the bad support and the parts costs but I have always liked there reliably and the fact that in a pinch you can use diesel without being to worried.
Darien Seminoff I remember when Rolls Royce first bought out Allison, they immediately jacked the prices way up for everything, you had to take out a short term loan just to buy maintenance manuals for the engines, the operators revolted and Rolls Royce finally adjusted the prices somewhat.
I haven't flown with Dick for 45 years. He was the best then!
Nothing better than the sound of a 500D!
Two of New Zealands Very Best
If you followed the Red Stage control programs in NZ, Dick Deaker is a legend.
Looks beautiful. Nice sound track.
So my brother can string a sentence together without any expletives...lol..
Good one bro..
Fantastic office alright! What area is all that open country in?
Trying to find a good spot for a good wild stag
Too bad America is so far away. We would love to buy some tags there
No tags are required. we don't have a tag system. open season all year round.
It’s only too heavy when you’ve got to release the load mate if it’s flying that’s okay And hitting the redline to much.
This just makes me want to get a 500....
I think its the 530F for me.

John doe Yep true, and the op and maintenance costs are quite a bit higher.

Wow
nice video. But I think it was too much weight for MD500D (see 1:00minutes).
Hopefully Dick reads this and lightens the load next time.....
haha... telling probably THE most experienced heli pilot in NZ its too heavy for his machine
She'll be right.
