My youngest son is a fan and he got a Norseman for his older brother for his birthday! Needless to say, his brother was overwhelmed!! Great product and loved this video!
I have a knife in Magnacut at 64.7hrc and 8 tho bte and I use it for everything. It's plenty tough. If you're gonna use magnacut at the very least hit 62. There is no benefits to running it softer unless your trying to make a super hard use fixed blade or something.
Absolutely this. Referencing the charts on Larrin’s website Magnacut treated at 64HRC is still 25% tougher than their RWL34/CPM154 at 61HRC. I don’t know why there was so much emphasis in the video put having a tough blade that you can put to work and why they don’t want to treat Magnacut hard. Plus at 64HRC Mag hits ~555 TCC on the CATRA for edge retention. I mean if you want the most toughness sure, at 61HRC Mag is double that of RWL but then you only gain a negligible 20 points on the CATRA TCC (Mag 61 = ~510, RWL 61 =~490).
I would definitely buy an upgrade kit for the mini saga. Would love to have the option to reduce the length but don’t particularly need a whole new pen
I paid $345 CAD for my Benchmade, but the pocket clip was too soft and kept bending. So I took it off to harden it a bit, but I lost one of the screws. I found out it's a special screw, only sold by Benchmade. I tried to buy one, but no one would answer my emails. Their website requires an American address to order parts.
Would really like to be able to purchase the saga tubing separately. If you are making a shorter tube could a longer tube to accommodate pilot g2 refills also be made? I know quite a few people would jump on a pilot g2 size saga.
Super super cool to see you use Magnacut and other steels!! Any chance to see backspacers on your knives? Also for the Saga, instead of the logo on the tip of the pen you should make a cool micro milling! The branding on the clip is enough?
Forget the ballpoint! I just use a fountain pen all of the time! It is truly enjoyable the free flow feeling of a good quality fountain pen! Once you get a real good quality one and the feeling you get just using it you will never go back to a ballpoint pen again!! I actually have a mini short one that works great made out of exotic wood so a shorty fountain one with a Schmitt “F” Iridium or a “B” Beaufort gold tip would be perfect with a pack of 5 black cartridges! Forget the pump and bottle, too much hassle!!
Always interesting to watch the updates and I’m a fan of all your knife models. But there would also be super cool to see a non flipper model sometime in the future (thumbstuds, hole/slot or disc) 😁 Wishing all the best, from Sweden.
I’ve had a cpmS30V steel that was my previous preferred edc knife till I bought 7221. How easy is it to swap blades out to get the fitment if you had some other steels to test? This 154 is ok but seems to dull quickly so far with my 6 months of use so far.
after watching your videos I now know this isn't a simple request but I'll ask anyway; any chance of a left handed option in the buyers choice form? love the new format video :-)
John are you thinking about how the SAGA works backwards that you don’t want it to open up when you put it in your pocket and leak .push the button and the ink cartridge should retract into the tube pull on the sides and the cartridge should pop out.Love you guys amazing
Hi John great new format will there be a time when I will be able to buy a knife from the website without having to go on a ballet or have you changed that as I have not looked for awhile perhaps I should go look anyway still like the format. The new knife looks very promising here in Australia we are not allowed to carry a knife if it is longer than 75 mm or 3 inch blade anything bigger is classified as a lethal weapon so I will be looking out for the new one.
How about stag and bone handles, scales for me that would be the ultimate in a Grimsmo Norseman,Rask absolutely the best of both worlds.MagnaCut great choice and Damascus say hi to Eric and I will keep following you guys
Really excited to see the progress on the new knife! The 3" range is by far my favorite for EDC and that is looking sweet. Keep those speed holes in the handle!...heck make a skeletonized version with a nice damasteel blade in it so we can enjoy the artistry open or closed 😉
My youngest son is a fan and he got a Norseman for his older brother for his birthday! Needless to say, his brother was overwhelmed!! Great product and loved this video!
This is the year for Grimsmo! So many great things happening, can't wait to see everyone at Blade Show.
Dude hell yes I cannot wait to get my hands on a Magnacut Rask
So it's safe to say we need a Grimsmo podcast. But in case that doesn't happen I'd like more of this
Yes but with less shop background noise
There is one
He’s done a podcast with John from NYCCNC for years. Worth checking out for sure. Called “The Business of Machining.”
Hell yeah!
please more of these videos!
Magnacut is SUCH a win. I love RWL but Magnacut is easily my favourite. I need a Mag Norseman now...
I love change, times change and I'm glad you're not missing the boat
Did you ever get the coolant foaming issues sorted out? I remember those being all over the BOM for a while then they kind of disappeared.
Great to hear from Angelo - let him speak more!
This is a great video and a great format. cant wait to see the next one!!!
S390 is a steel and a great one. S390 would be amazing to see on one of your knives.
Exciting news, see you guys at Blade!
Love to have the option to switch back and forth to the shorter barrel on my current Saga.
Yes buyers choice !
Team buyer’s choice. Let’s goooo!
I will be here every week if you keep making these
This will be my second year at Blade Show as a vendor. I'll have to swing past and say hi. :) Last year was my first year and it was a lot of fun!
This is an amazing video. Definitely looking forward to more of these videos
Excited for you guys!! The Wife and I are moving from Hawaii to Georgia the first week of June! arghhh...always next year!

@@ao8I totally agree.

This is a very good format, looking forward to more of the same!

So what HRC are you guys going to be aiming for with Magnacut then? I don’t think I heard an exact number thrown out.
Need to bump up the volume on the mics a bit and try to reduce the background noise.
im curious about what probe you have in the kern, and what measurable precission do you get with it?
Shorter pilot drill first if its an option. same dia
could you plz make a program in fusion that measures ypur calibration ball with the inspect surface and post the results
"Boss, we can make it so the probes don't crash."
"Nope, we make lots of money selling the replacements."
Would really like to be able to purchase the saga tubing separately. If you are making a shorter tube could a longer tube to accommodate pilot g2 refills also be made? I know quite a few people would jump on a pilot g2 size saga.
I love this format! It’s like the WAN show but for Grimsmo
I have been wanting to try the geocool ... Really looking forward to your feedback
Will the clip on the integral be reversible? Please!
Super super cool to see you use Magnacut and other steels!!
Any chance to see backspacers on your knives?
Also for the Saga, instead of the logo on the tip of the pen you should make a cool micro milling! The branding on the clip is enough?
But will it be low value budget level magnacut at 60 to 62 (ideal for large fixed blades)? Or worth it magnacut at 63-65?
Its going to be 62 or below. And not be worth the high prices. Carrothers known for abusive use runs 63rc.
Crk uses 63-64rc magnacut and they are users and tested with users. They did modify tip geometry.
ABW and Houge also users and run 63-64rc.

Great video 👍 What about making short run inlay handle's with materials like granite, wood, carbon fibre ceramic 😊
would really like the mini pen. I would like to be able to just purchase the tube so i could have a mini or regular of the one i already own.
Loved this format!
Keep it rollin'.
Greetings from Bavaria (very close to Kern :) )
Mini saga upgrade kit would be nice!
Wish you’d do more inlayed Norseman and damasteel once in a while would be cool.
Estimated price point on the integral? About the same as rask and Norseman?
Always interesting to watch the updates and I’m a fan of all your knife models. But there would also be super cool to see a non flipper model sometime in the future (thumbstuds, hole/slot or disc) 😁
Wishing all the best, from Sweden.
*Please bring some 'Blurple Rasks in sunburst' to Knife Show 2024!*
Saga upgrade kit would be great 👍

Any chance of Damascus return? Preferably Saga parts

How about stag and bone handles, scales for me that would be the ultimate in a Grimsmo Norseman,Rask absolutely the best of both worlds.MagnaCut great choice and Damascus say hi to Eric and I will keep following you guys
Saga Mini drops individually please full blacked out DLC
*I agree, RWL34 is a very good steel; its the uninformed who do not realize this.*
awesome...truely awesome video. love to see the professionalism between you two...you have a winner with Angelo...
I want the 200th 😜

So they can charge you a lot for a 59rc damasteel blade? Lol no thanks.
Swiss Cheese knife!😅
Maybe one day your knives will be worth the costs, but not with your poor decisions.
You're still whining? You sound like suuuch a whiny beta. Crying for several years under every video.
Next time in a quiet room please.
Can you make a mechanical pencil please, and send me a free sample!
