Cool detail; Blake's surprised that Gambol Shroud is out of bullets during the fight. This is because she didn't know Weiss fired off some of her last clip at the end of Volume 8.

Neo hitting the setting like a meteor was just perfect!
Ruby's weapon is Crescent Rose, Semblances can evolve to adopt new characteristics or functionality which is assumed to be happening with Neo, the Green sword is Penny's sword that she summoned while a Maiden before she died, the people falling fell at similar but different times regardless of when they fell so even if they fell first they didn't necessarily land first in the Ever After, Neo landed after the Jabberwalker retreated from team RWBY.
Neo's semblance could be evolving or it could just be the nature of the ever after that illusions become real
The Cat is voiced by Robbie Daymond, who is not the voice of Haku from Spirited Away. He's got a ton of voice acting credits, but the biggest thing I found on IMDB is that he was Tuxedo Mask in the VIZ dub of Sailor Moon. And for a more recent role, he was Goro Akechi in Persona 5 and the various spinoffs
And more recently, Chi from HiFi Rush
Robbie has also been on Critical Role.

I know him mostly from Campaign 3 of Critical Role, which is what made me fall in love with him. I'm so glad he's in RWBY!

Neo can't trust anyone but herself, and she decided she needed a crew
It's so fun watching you guys react to RWBY! The music was a real banger this episode, so vibey. Also the finishing strike by Yang was performed in a similar way to how RWBY as a team performed together for the very first time, against the Nevermore in the Emerald Forest! Blake's weapon was the slingshot, held at both ends by her and Yang, Weiss held Ruby into place, and Ruby was then slung against the Nevermore holding its neck by her scythe and ran up the edge of the cliff, beheading it. Oh apropos beheading, the Red Prince probably would've loved seeing that lmao.
It's funny Neo has been using her semblance over the years to do substitution jutsus, transformation jutsus, and now the shadow clone jutsu. She's obviously been training to be the best Hokage that Remnant has ever seen.

Name of the song during the fight is "Checkmate"
Ironic, given that "Checkmate" was The Final Word spoken by Cinder at the end of Volume 8.
They changed up Alice in Wonderland, not because of copyright, since it is public domain, but because they’re making it clear that the Fairytales in RWBY are only loosely based on our stories. In RWBY they want the fairytales to have their own identity that separates them from out spruce material. Also they don’t want things overlapping since the character names and team motifs are based on our classic fairytales.
Also, Jason Marsden did the voice of Haku. The Cat is Robbie Daymond who often guests on Critical Role, and is the 8th Brother in Rebels.

Aye. Not only did he copy others, but it was a thing for him that he could ONLY do others for a long time because of his trauma. Suraj could not have missed the mark more with that line 😅

"You have to get the pawns to the other side. You have to remove the pawn that is defeated". That's a little confusing but looking at the scene
You have to create an empty line. The amount of pawns in that line is then counted. The duels are just duels. Whoever is stronger wins, there's no more powerful piece than the other. Only the skill of the pieces themselves.
Also the game is rigged so that the prince always wins
That's why the white pieces are beat up

A fact I just looked up is that Rooster Teeth already has volumes 10-12 planned out already. Were getting the next volume later this year too!!! I'm so excited!!!
I'm pretty sure this is in no way confirmed. We haven't even gotten information that volume 10 is greenlit, much less a release window.
The original plan was that Monty planned out 10-12 volumes. Things have obviously changed around a bit since his passing, so it's unsure if that is still the planned amount.

Most of Ever After characters go by they/them, otherwise said.

1.- Each player may move each pawn one space every turn
2.- Whoever gets the most pawns to the other side of the board wins
3.- To take over a space you must dispose of whoever occupies it
Ruby proceeds to move each pawn several spaces to dispose of other pawns without occupying any new spaces.
Thank you for noticing Weiss’ semblance here. Because in the beginning they acted as though they couldn’t use them when retrieving Blake’s weapon with the vines or when the Jabberwalker came out.
