    Hi Kenneth. Thanks for the very comprehensive review. As a fellow 2020 Kia Soul Limited (64kwh) owner, and a Tesla model 3 LR owner, I agree that Kia EVs are definitely the next best to Tesla. I love the Soul and I also love this EV9. I’m still deciding whether a Model Y, the Cybertruck or this EV9 will be the replacement for my 2018 Model 3 when the time comes! The era of no compromises EVs has arrived as of 2020. This EV9 seems to have it all in one package, and at a very reasonable price for what you get (including not using and having to pay for gasoline!)

      Thanks for watching and for the feedback! Yes we are similar as I have a 2020 Telsa Model 3 LR and a 2023 Kia Soul EV. Not planning to get rid of either of these anytime soon. Plan to drive the Model 3 into the ground, hopefully get 10 years out of it. I am 3.5 years into it. Yes more choice is better for consumers. The Model Y, CT and EV9 cater to different use cases and needs so best of luck on your next choice!

    Nice EV, not so good on the audio levels. Recent tendency to blasting. Would a bit of compression help?

      Thanks for watching, and I did notice that after recording. Did some stuff in post to help and have turned down the gain on my wireless mic. Will have to turn it down some more.
      And while I appreciate criticism, your only commenting on the volumes on the video and not about the actual subject of the vehicle! Really?

      @@EVRevolution IDK maybe that car is just too………normal? I do comment on the content sometimes, just not this time. Guess you're just going to have to be a bit more provocative. (-;
      I'm actually somewhat serious. Often you can hear talk of a "new normal," and it usually refers to some kind of permanent decline. But it can also be upward. Improvements are made, they propagate, and pretty soon we're taking them for granted. Surely that's the way things are mostly going with EVs.

    You mentioned 5,000 Lbs towing rating. I have seen that some non North American data indicates the towing is 2,500 Kilograms (5,511 lbs). What is the actual Canadian Metric towing rating? 5,500 lbs would be very much appreciated!!

      Thanks for watching. I am seeing 5,000lbs and that is what I was told. You should confirm with a dealer.

    Hey Ken, is it possible that you mixed up the DC charging speeds for the big and small batteries? 11:57

      Thanks for watching. I checked my notes and that is what I had, which did seem odd to me. However, that is what I got from Kia. In either case, they are not too far off for max peaks and the reality is will be different for each use. At least my experience was close to advertised.

      I believe the large battery cells are configured such that it is rated at 552V while the small battery cells are configured such that it is rated at 632V, so with a 350 amp limit on a CCS connector the larger battery should not charge as high a kwh rate. A car with a battery rated at 1,000V (CCS max specification) operating at 350 amps (max limit) could hypothetically result in 350 KWh (350A x 1,000V = 350,000 Watts/hr)

    I would have delayed the release so all of them would have NACS. Why orphan the first year with CCS? I do mean orphan since CCS requirements at charging stations will eventually be lobbied to go away sooner than people realize.

    • @JohnRoss1
      @JohnRoss1 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If NACS was so important you'd buy a different 3 row SUV. Less than a year ago 3rd party tesla charging was not available, and how it would work with your cars was a question. So basically 2 year delay to market after the production plants had been remodeled and the US KIA plant would be idle. Honestly using an adapter once a week isn't a big deal. Using it once a day, then if you had a choice between with a 2024 and 2025/6 you'd pick the new model (and still not have an optimum 800 volt BMS experience on 400 volt tesla units-maybe kia/Hyundai could fix that with updated hardware ) Somehow Chademo owners manage on a 'dead' standard in North America.

    • @MarkLLawrence
      @MarkLLawrence 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JohnRoss1 not for now, but for the second owner. The value will be lower because it'll have a charge port not supported any longer. It'll be relegated to being a local around town vehicle, just like the Chademo vehicles are now.

    • @EVRevolution
      @EVRevolution  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @MarkLLawrence Thanks for watching and valid point, however all OEMs need to continue to get product out there, and many don't care about NACS. Plus OEMs will provide an adapter for CCS to NACS at some point.

      @JohnRoss1 Thanks for the response and I agree.

    • @EVRevolution
      @EVRevolution  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @MarkLLawrence I don't really think it will impact values as much as you think. An adapter is no big deal.
