I'm convinced he's on the spectrum, and was never diagnosed. I'm a late diagnosed autistic (dx'd in my mid-30s) and am usually right when spotting it in others.

He was just in an interview with Kelly Clarkson and she didn't even give him a chance to answer any questions and she kept pointing out how awkward he is (without intending to). Brooke Shields tried to comfort things. But it just felt like the popular girls were putting up with the awkward dudes. It kind of enraged me.
Rivers definatly has ASD. You can tell straight away by the way he reacts when people ask him questions. I have ASD too and I feel like the interviewers took the piss out of him a bit. They are cutting to much to Matt, saying stuff about him to his face knowing they'd still get away with it because he can't bring himself to say anything back.
Then in 1997 for the livid festival The same interviewer was interviewing Jimmy Pop from Bloodhound Gang and Rivers was brought up for awhile and apparently off camera the interviewer and Rivers were talking about comics as said by the interviewer
Rivers here, from my view, is the embodiment of a beautiful piece of the 90s. A careless indifference to the unspoken social order. Actually, a rejection of it. A creature eternally bored by the act of keeping up appearances. The manifestation of an emptiness brought on by the vapid, controlling, grey capitalist landscape. Maybe I am projecting here…
