Beautiful opal, Don! The thing that struck me most was that it looks like the 'waves' are in motion when you show the face at different angles. It is😮 waves on the ocean.... So, I think your name is perfect for it! The size was just right, with a ton of blues and greens. I hated that you lost carat weight for removing the crack. But, it happens more often than not it seems. I would agree that the stone is probably worth a hundred dollars or a little more. Thanks for sharing! Blessings from Alabama ❤️
We usually expect to lose 80% of weight when cutting, so to only lose about 50% and make a beautiful oval is a seriously great result! Well done mate :D
It helps that Carl from Absolute Opals rubbed the rough and then sold the great parcel for me to purchase. I really do need to note that technically these are opal rubs and NOT rough. Thanks. Loved your video today as well.
@@MariaAndraste Hi. We are all meeting new people on the channel. It can be difficult to watch, learn, read and type simultaneously! No probs. All are glad to have you on board, I am sure. 😊

Yeah, there is some depth in the color, if only that bar had been thicker!
Nice work. Pretty one.

hi!
I thought it was live and doing the "just entered the room wave" 🤣😂
great looking stone man
Thanks a lot, pk, black opal really is the best around.
Everybody expects perfection but i would rather look up and over curves and crevices
Yeah, I do like to look at areas I can keep improving on with each cut. Perfection is rare, and difficult.

You're good. Nice of you to lend a hand. I am happy you enjoyed the journey.

thanks for watching!
Gorgeous stone…. Color bar? Can ya explain I’ve no clue
the color bar is the silica band that has the color in it. the colorless part is the potch, which is basically common opal (no color)
