I use T3 and T4 bearers quite a lot. They're fast to level, have a lot of utility for their carrying capacity, and are almost unkillable in most situations. They're pretty easy to pick up, both in the Exiled Lands and Siptah, so you can stack them around your base for defense.
I never used a bearer until my tribe mate told me, and when I did I didn't look back, I use 2 thralls at once, a berserker and the bearer... Nice combo in my eyes... unless you wanna give the bearer a bow that would be different but usefull...
@scruffygaming627 you're right but berserkers are glass cannons 😬 anyway I leveled one with 5k hp so all depends on how you level the thrall how you gear it and which food you give to him. Bearers simply are useful as support, but if you need a proper fighting thrall you obviously need something more "persuasive" 😁

Silver mine is a good place to level a bearer. Load the tharal with silver ore, iron, stone, and coal. Good farming at the same time as leveling. The unnamed city is one of the best places for XP and has good drops.
Warmaker Sanctuary is the best place to level any thrall. Just jump in, murder everything in sight chronologically, repeat. Tons of good weapons and mats, and even more XP.
This is why im still using Lian's as regular melee defenders. They can get 5,5k hp and still have 1.8 multiplier. And they are normal leveling speed which is fine. I bet there are better choices but im happy with Lian's. Just need to replace my cannibal brute archers (cus they got nerfed badly).
I like to focus health on my thralls and grab War Party for the second thrall, then eventually equip one with an Annoying Shard and the other with a Feroxic Hammer. It puts out Sunder and a variety of DoT so I can focus on heavy hits or circumstantial load outs like Spectral Coating.
serious question... when did the current meta catch up to my standard? for the longest time it was 'Melee/Range Damage Modifier!!!!' only. i always said give me Eina the Light and some Exotic Feast if you are feeling fancy and we are good to go! she carries my Dungeon gear. Food. Her food. her weapons. my back up weapons. my arrows (If you don't give her a bow). her back up armor. AND what ever I'm harvisting and most ov what I'm not. she has soloed everything with poor weapons before in field and testing. best Thrall since i started playing. keep your Snowchick. Berserker. and (current).
I grabbed a t4 bearer from the black galleon and im pretty impressed. Ive since grabbed a cannibal brute and am leveling her to see how she survives, but doing 3x weapon dmg makes one helluva difference
I've used bearers a lot... giving them a poisoned weapon like the festering one at least improve a bit their low damage multiplier and have lots of health point so if you give them a good armor they can sustain a lot of damage... are a good choice imo.
500 is the go to point for armor for light players. Achievable with light epic, and i think you can barely reach 70% damage reduction from 1200 armor…. I think. 50% from 500 is enough. Testing is needed for accurate numbers though….. and the difference between damage takeb from 50% and 70% is equal to 40% less damage surprisingly, so give the heaviest epics for thralls who care not for weight or armor weight class. I hope the math isn’t confusing.
Your math is spot on. By the way the formula in conan for armor damage reduction is: x=armor value, dmg reduction%=x /(x+500) this is simple enough, but it gets complicated when you add armor pen into the mix, as it too is a non linear stat.
I'm not sold at all on the usefulness of bearers. Respec potions are dirt cheap so whenever I want to farm I just pop one, get beast of burden and I can carry 20 times what a bearer could. Using corrupted attributes does make respecing expensive though. If you just want to be the one doing the damage I'd take a dancer with me and might as well enjoy a bit of extra regen and fixing corruption. If I'm doing the hardest stuff for my level I don't mind looting very few things anyway, but if I can roll over some specific content then I can probably do it with a suboptimal build and grab beast of burden for max lootage.
I use t4 thrall beare as purge defence, an there job is being the tank an aply status effects, if you get them to lvl 20, with 10-12k health + armor about 2000 gives an dmg reduction of 80%, that gives them pretty much healthx400% =40-48k health. then the classic berserker as dmg.
I did this test a couple months ago but I was using a named thrall. Thrall did all but the last hit on the champion. Solo'd all other bosses. perfected heavy + void ribs, moment with master kit. Food and Elixirs but no authority..
I love my bearers, especially the only one that is tier 3. It has 15K+ hp. I usually run war party. Me, 1 bearer and 1 fighter like D.S. I was having fun with the cannibal brutes, but that's coming to an end. Unless I'm knocking out thrall, I almost always run a bearer.
So glad to see bearers finally getting the love they deserve. Only thing I'd say is... use a T3, not a T1, more inventory space, slightly MORE HP still (282 + 1000 more at start), and a damage modifier of 0.4 - still low but way better than 0.14. And as said, give them a weapon according to their abilities, weapons with "gouge" is like "bleed" on both dead and undead, a nice choice. Otherwise, like giving them a hammer, defaults with much higher armor pen, so more of what little damage they do gets through, and applies sunder to boot, to augment my own attacks. The other option would be similar to your choice here, a T1 Dog of the Desert, not as much HP, but still pretty darn good (173 per VIT point) and they have damage modifier of 0.875, so they do a bit more damage Added bonus, this goes for ALL T1s, including dancers, a nice choice if you want to go somewhere with high corruption.
Axe,even poison one is worst weapon against arena champion.Ace in basic have zero armor penetration-arena champ have 97 percent damage resist.Mace have best penetration and armor breaking.But for low damage thrall best will be poisoned or another damage effect daggers
I never let any of my thralls face the arena champion unless its Ladagara. I just have them on standby while I solo her with poison arrows and the zath orbs, once she is very low on health I call them in to finish her.
I'm currently leveling up a Cimmerian Berserker to replace my Canninal Brute that's about to be nerfed. 😢 The Berserker is only level 11, but I've got her in heavy Pictish armor that gives a Strength weapon bonus with the Momentum mace, and she took down the Red Mother pretty much solo with not much trouble. Can't wait until she's 20. 😅
i had no idea you could drug your forcibly recruited friends to change their performance. personally i run about with the highest tier bearer i can kidnap and forcibly enfriend equipped with archery. i can reposition them during combat by hitting E and they keep pulling the boss off into walking towards them giving me plenty of time to reattract the boss or heal. that way none of us is tanking anything
You should try a no armor play-through. See if you can make it through the game without wearing any armor, except for the journey steps. With the Multi-Char mod, you won't even need a new save.
I can't tell what's up to date with these thrall videos any more. Magine thralls not being double nerfed on every server. Standard server settings, thralls do 0.5 damage, then reduced by their damage modifiers. Also imagine if they werent a slog to level up so you could set up for purges a little faster.
I've largely stopped using thralls for most of my Conan gameplay currently but, ironically, I took/take a T4 bearer during my runs through the warmaker dungeon to carry all the loot. Side note, has there always been a king scorpion over by that dungeon?
You mean outside, leaving the dungeon go foreward down to the obelisc and than turn right? On a little rise, next to the big black rock/pilar? Yea, it was there since... like, forever.
I used a bearer name was like pelas or something he never had a problem sadly he died I got ambushed while leaving the sepumaru dungeon was like 8 players with thralls waiting at exit to kill ppl in loading screen lol
Love the video Wak! I too love bearer thralls & use them every chance I get, for those very reasons you mentioned in the video. They can take a ton of damage, & they can carry so much in their inventories that they are indispensable for the ways that I play. When I do a level 10 purge & get a named bearer thrall, I'm like, "Nice!!!". Thanks for the video Wak.
Totally random. There are perks that won't roll after certain levels but other than that it's basically the same as trying to get the torch from the red mother kill/drink then look and hope that the RNG gods are smiling.

I'll stick with my Lian. I don't need to worry about that. he single-handedly shoots the shit out of the Arena Campion! Shoot up authority and he'll get the same attributes as me! At 4200Hp, 1700 Armor and 90 Strength. Is that equal to God! Weapon and shield. Weapon is Naturally Impulse. Everyone has to know what they are doing! But everyone should pay attention to the spec when it comes to Thrall! 
Just got Lian up to 5200 without any rolling back. My last Lian was 4000 using Momentum with the best strength output Armor but lost against the Arena Champion. Didn't give him a Shield because I didn't think they worked well with Thrall's? Am I wrong?
Based on Wak's last livestream if you are using the thrall for purge defense I'd say Du'neman the Dragoon. The wiki has his damage modifier wrong from in game checking. 100% spawn, easy knockout, and I think he's a regular leveler but I'm not 100% sure.
I only play solo and I always admin spawn the arena champion as my thrall, since she can easily reach 12-13k hp but has a better dmg modifier. i hate her voice though 😂 for the for solo feel, along the lines of this video, I usually go with a bearer for carry or a dancer vs corruption. if you really want to go to town though, you can spawn in the witch queen, since she also has a bad dmg modifier, but can reach over 120k. there's absolutely no way you can lose that thrall unless you fall asleep in front of the dungeon boss or something like that 🤣
You can also spawn in Ladagara. She is more powerful than the arena champion. Also there is the headless judge from Siptah and the witch queen that has the most health points.
As a solo player myself always run the Fashonist mod. You can either change the voice or silence the thrall with a shard. Aside from all the other fun stuff the mod lets you do.

Yes your not wrong, tier 3 or named will do perfectly. Mines got 9k hp and the perks he has with strengh is a big bonus... Tank thralls...
Exactly, my hubby has a T3 bearer and it's an absolute monster! The health pool is HUGE.

Honestly some of the best T4 thrall I’ve seen came from T10 purge. A bearer with 4k hp is pretty handy. Even got Lian and Snowhunter in a few.

When I fight the Arena Champion. I like to use the disease punching daggers. I can constantly keep her stun locked. It's so good.

I always pair up weapons that apply a DoT and sometimes it's better to give thralls like this the Zathite spear
T3 Bearers rock. My goto, also because I suck at fighting, and with a tank, I spank and live.

A bearer thrall and Well Trained from the Authority stat makes for one heck of a Meat Shield!

That's the reason I give a bearer a shield. Just some extra protection while being the defensive tank.

Why an axe? The arena champion is heavily armored right so wouldnt the mace be better? Poison too inconsistent too, she missed most of her attacks.
