Say what you want, ball handling is extremely important and often underestimated even by some ignorant basketball fans. If you practice from young age, all the better. Another point: the idea here is not brainwashing kids into playing basketball to get gold medals or something twisted like that. This here is about sports culture, healthy habits, opportunity and access to sports. And maybe, just maybe, you might develop really talented kids to play the sport someday. This is how you organically build champions. It's not about forcing, it's about giving kids opportunity to experiment so some of them who are talented will have a choice to follow something they might love. It's not that all of a sudden they adopted a basketball culture. No. It all starts with the experince with the sport and if you dare to say otherwise because they're Chinese, you're probably a very ignorant person, a racist or don't really respect the importance of sports.

probably not, china didnt make it into the olympics for basketball 5v5 and they did very poorly in 3x3.. theres also not many chinese players in the nba due to the chinese way of developing players being bad

Many schools, because of crazy curriculum rules made by administrators who know nothing of child development, do not have good physical education, music or art classes because of adult ignorance of their value. "Copy" is a very ignorant way of putting it. You don't understand what cultural exchange is. It happens all the time since the dawn of men. It's some of the oldest thing men invented. It's the very ability to learn new things. You see, they're not "copying" like you copy a document with a Xerox machine. Why practicing a sport they're interested in would be copying? Copying implies they don't have the right to play basketball or that they're being copycats. It makes no sense whatsoever.
No offense. They are no where close to pro, and i know they’re kindergarteners and this is tough for em but they shouldn’t get this kind of recognition if they aren’t that good. A simple “Very talented” would be best at max.
