So i was once just sleeping but i had a sleep paralysis like time i saw a black figure at my door and it just teleported away with a horrifying sound but it wasnt sleep paralysis because i could still move and i always hear sounds from my attic. End of story! Next story and longer at 150 likes!

Edit no 6: ok yall got it here is the story! A hiker decided to go on a hike by himself. Something he was not very used to. The whole day was normal. Trees and bushes engulfed his surroundings. He enjoyed being outdoors in the mountains. Nothing seemed strange to him, that was until he was making his way back to his car. He figured an eight hour hike was good enough. The sky was already getting dark and he needed to get back, fast. What was odd was how much he didn’t recognize the trail back. He began to panic.
Night had already taken over and all he had was a flashlight and no clue on how to get back. He knew it was already too late and too dangerous to keep going through the perilous forest. He began to worry that he would have no shelter for the night when almost luckily enough, he stumbled across a broken-down cabin. It was dark, and seemed like no one had visited it in years, but he knew it was the only place where he could rest until daylight, especially since his flashlight was running out of battery. He knocked on the door a few times but no one answered, so he let himself in where strangely enough, a perfect bed fitted for one person awaited him in the center. He knew that if the owner came back he could explain himself, he was sure that the owner wouldn’t mind, or was even probably dead. So he went ahead and got himself comfortable in bed. As he tried to sleep, he couldn’t ignore the collection of paintings around the room; portraits of strange looking people all peering at him, each wearing a smile that sent chills up his spine. Not too long after his exhaustion from the hike got the best of him and he was able to ignore the faces. The next morning he got up early and was shocked to see that there were no paintings around the room, but windows…

Before the Dutch came to your country indonesia did not even exist, it was just different cultural groups depending on what island you where. In a way Your fight for independance unified your country to become indonesia. Witch is funny because my country the netherlands did the same we became united in our fight against the spanish king and became the dutch republic. @@peterkorver8907yeah, if Philip 2 wasnt such a Spanish absolutist that tried to centralise more power to the Spanish throne and wasnt a catholic supremacist we would've stayed in the HRE and would most likely have stayed in the German sphere and ended up either being a contender for German unification, an ally of Austria against Prussia or ended up part of Germany. We only really left the "German sphere" due to Philip inheriting the lowlands and his uncle the HRE. And while we were still formally part of it we didn't answer to it due to the divided titles. Philip really pissed of both the local nobility as well as the people. His father on the other hand who used to hold the titles of Spain,Italian possessions and the HRE (and thus the lowlands) was a very well liked habsburg that toured his empire all the time. He divided his titles over his son and brother and the son grew up on Spain and wanted to cut off the local nobility and centralise power to the Spanish throne.
Same way that us deciding to administer the Dutch east indies as one country is what created the Indonesian identity as it didn't exist prior to the existence of the Dutch east indies.

Technically they didn't occupy the Netherlands because the king of spain was also the king of the Netherlands trough his father Charles the 5th but unlike his father the new king wasn't born in the Netherlands and had only visited once and when he send an army to kill protestants and enforce catholicism he was practically occupying the Netherlands

English do be always be fighting the Dutch one way or the other. In South Africa the British came down and took Cape Town which was initially built by Dutch settlers.
Between VoC rules and British control, eventually some of the low-class settlers decided to abandon Cape Town to look for a new place to call home.
These people were known as the "voortrekkers". Some found diamonds along the way, then the British got a smell of it and confiscated the mine and town built around it. Known as "Kimberly's gat"
Others found gold. In fact there was so much gold the side of the river bank was white. This was known as "Witwatersrand" directly translated to "Whitewaterside" which eventually became the currency of the country "Rand"
The British also tried to take the gold, but then lost that fight.
A lot of the old settlers have a word or somewhat of a slur for the British people that came over the seas to take stuff from other people in other countries. It's even known today, but mostly used as a joke. The slur is "Soutie" or "Soutpiel".
It means to have one foot in your country of origin and one foot in another country with your balls hanging in the ocean.

2:50 the most insane thing about this is that Louis Napoleon, Napoleon Bonaparte's brother and King of Holland, was doing so well and was so beloved by the people that Bonaparte was scared he would seperate the puppet state from the French Empire's influence. Louis even learnt to speak Dutch and was always trying to be at calamity spots to help out. A lot of leaders even today could take examples from him.
