Frieren has surpassed my expectations.. This is without a doubt my favorite anime, i cant express how much i enjoyed watching it. So beautiful.
If you like frieren you should also watch violet evergarden it's also calm and emotional.

Anime meets Lord of The Rings.
This is the closest thing we can have to a LOTR anime. Frieren manages to encapsulate the epic feeling of Lord of The Rings. Beautiful and mystical with a bit of nostalgia. It is not an exaggeration that the anime surpassed the manga. The soundtracks and the overall cinematography is way beyond I expected it to be.
Frieren will be a timeless masterpiece 10 years later
Duh the anime is better than the manga but only because its confined to still images on paper. The story is still amazing and that comes from the manga. The anime just adds so much more detail and makes the world feel truly alive.

@@devan9197 don't discount voice acting and scene impact. Some shots in this anime just hit differently. And its great. It's so good that a more faithful representation of source would be inferior.
This is almost like pure captured audio nostalgia, and hope with mild sadness and freedom undertones... Extremely fitting for Frieren.
Also - Sousou no Frieren, as an anime, enters the same Hall of Greats as incredible media like Ghibli films, Makoto Shinkai films, Kyoto animation works like Violet Evergarden and stuff like Season 1 of Made in Abyss and FMAB. It's truly the level of quality and care and passion, that the people behind it's production poured into it. It's almost a love letter to the manga, which was already amazing in it's own right... In a time when many brilliant Manga's and LN's get low budget adaptations, we were lucky enough to see this become a masterpiece of an anime. It elevates and enhances the Source material. Such a rare thing.
funny you mention Violet Evergarden cause Frieren and Violet Evergarden have the same composer for their OST, that is Evan Call. Maybe that is also why i feel almost the same feeling when the first time i watched Violet Evergarden in Frieren.

it's when you watch the series and see the relationship that develops between the two of them that this sentence really has weight. That Himmel only wanted Frieren to never be alone and to live forever in her heart...
-for showed her the sunrise.
-for helping Frieren through her illness.
-that he asked the chef to keep the restaurant open for a long time, so that Frieren would always eat well when she came here.
-that Himmel knew what ring he bought her...
-that when she saw their statue she would never feel alone.
-that even as a child Himmel saw what no one else in Frieren saw.
-and did not say goodbye at length, because he would like to see Frieren again...
(These are the memories Frieren had when she lost Himmel. This 1/100th of her life changed Frieren.)

Frieren is so good and Evan Calls was perfect for this. Just a beautiful story about how love withstands time, similarity to Violet Evergarden in some aspects.
This song definitely reminds me of Sam's speech about heroes not giving up and continuing their journey despite their hardships.
Frieren calls me out into the world. It dares me to live the life I know I should. To try my hand at each day and come to see the adventure it holds. Frieren gives this radical spirit to my heart to realize just how magical my life is and to be content. Theres no exaggerated mountaintop epiphanies here, just subtle hidden moments that mean the world.

The way this anime kept pulling on your heart strings is second to none... Every episode just keep tugging on your heart like a good friend putting his hand on your shoulders with a smile, telling you so many things without saying a word.

The anime was so perfect, it made me feel like Lord of the Rings in a way. The visuals, voice acting, music and sound design were so good. Wholesome throughout, Demons are actually just evil. It's very much traditional fantasy with one of the best magic systems ever.
Frieren is a slow learner when it comes to mourning those who she truely cared about, being that is. Himmel the Hero was the first person that ever left an impact on her who died. Watching Fern and Stark go next might tear her apart.
That flute hits hard man. Gave me the shivers.
As someone who plays DnD but has yet to finish any of their adventures, this track really makes me emotional, and I'm gonna definitely use it during the epilogue of any of my campaigns

I hope none of your adventures end in the void of collapsed DnD groups. I have experienced that fate so many times I find it hard to motivate myself to try and find another campaign. So many characters I poured my heart and soul into would not see anything but being frozen in time forver, their story never to be finished, gazing emptily with all their hopes and dreams stuck in the moment, never to be fulfilled or crushed. Every hero deserves their adventure to end, be it by blade or by peace.
Here´s hoping you defeat the Devil lords and Demon Kings and Elder Brains and Dragons and evil cults and get to have an epilogue that fits this masterpiece of a song.

I absolutely love this show and I plan to get into the manga. However when thinking about what could happen next I am brought to tears. It may be thinking too far into the future but it saddens me to think that Frieren will see Fern grow and age as well as Stark. Its implied that elves live for thousands of years and I just wonder in awe how the author will be able to conclude this amazing tear jerking story. But for now, lets just focus on seeing Himmel again. :)

I went in watching Frieren knowing that it will be decent but my goodness... its 100% a permanent top 5 or top 3 for me.

frieren is really different anime than most of anime out there. most of anime story line is begin with A to Z. but freiren is a story from Z to A. where all storyline is very peaceful, slow paced journey. Yet everytime there is a fighting scene, the production never let you down. they give you all!!! one of the greatest animation fighting scene!

There is no need to say goodbye, as we'll all see each other again.
This anime and the music pulled at the heart strings for sure, there are only a few that have hit me like that and this is one of the top 3 what a fantastic feeling this gives.
Each time this song begins, it reminds me of the Lord of the Rings. Of them coming back to the Shire after saving the world. It feels like LotR has a very similar energy to what the journey before Frieren: Beyond Journey's End was. Like two melodies, harmonizing, fitting together so well, and yet distinctly beautiful all on their own.
The anime made it to my top 1 love it, i can't wait for El dorado arc it has everything i like.
Every single character in El dorado arc is the GOAT, everyone is so well written it felt unreal

Binged Frieren in the last week or so. It is the most beautiful anime I've seen in such a short time frame. The only others that made me mourn, weep, and cheer as much were FMA:B and One Piece, both of which take much longer to hit the same peaks of emotional release. Jujutsu Kaisen came close, but that was moreso crying because it was peak shonen combat/story, rather than crying from true emotion. Maybe it's because I'm older, more worn down, and less bright eyed about life, but a good anime like this really hits home in a sea of modern trash. I really hope I don't forget this show after "a mere 10 years"...
Tons of good anime/manga if you stop seeking out garbage. FMA:B is actually quite mid once you expand your horizon pass shounen.
@@StuninRub Yeah I'm sute there is. I'm just a bit of a sucker for fantasy, so I don't think I'll move off of that to more grounded anime or Sci Fi anime anytime soon.

In my opinion, it would be better if you watch anime as the time it released, not binge watch. The anime shows feels longer, and you can interact/comment with other people who are in this journey.
It's not about the fighting animations that are impressive but the story that express how Frieren experienced how life should be.
The animation itself is beautiful. The anime is created in a not impactful but creates beauty around life itself. Quite literally recommended for everyone.
It is such a good anime. I just love it.
There are two more anime girls with a sad story, as I think it is the Wolf and Spices and Violet Evengarden. I am very sorry for these three girls and I would never wish anyone such a fate as they have (to live forever and see how beloved and dear friends and colleagues grow old, to see the war and the death of a loved one)😔.

I think story will finish with frieren dying and then a flash will show us Fern reading her book "sousou no frieren beyond journey's end". And then we see Fern with Stark and their children the oldest one named Frieren.
Frieren taught me that immortality isn't as daunting as it seems. As one story ends, another begins, embodying the cycle of life. 📖✨
And as one said before, in order to love yourself, you mustn’t hate the experiences you have lived, good, bad, lows, highs, and everything in between, because they have shaped the person you are today, and everyday we learn something new and meet new people whether it be waving to a stranger, saying good morning to a stranger, or just simply taking a stroll in society you are soaking in your surroundings every day and the people around you, humans are the most complex creatures, a curse, and a blessing, but most of all an irreplaceable gift given to us and our greatest weakness but at the same time our greatest strength. You live once, and as it’s proven time escapes our grasp, go and live a life you wish to live, and do not let others stop you from the peace you deserve, for they know little and are also learning.

@@MilkaDerpNo most anime uses an actual orchestra to do the music. Frieren is actually doing a OST concert with their orchestra in August, but u need to win the lottery ticket in order to attend. The lottery ticket is given to random lucky purchasers of the frieren OST CD that's available for preorder currently
