Your absolutely right Hans, and thank you for even considering a possible video on G. LaFontaine Caddis Pupa's. And if I know you, I think you'll even add your own little spin on them like your so talented at doing. Thanks again Hans. - Justin Aldrich.
Grest addition to the Caddis Pupa family. Another great interpretation Hans. But I find Gary LaFontaine's Deep Sparkle Pupa and Sparkle Emerger to be an easier tie and also more effective on the stream. I'll even use those style Caddis when they aren't even emerging and have good success with them. Since we're on the topic of the Caddis Pupa, I'd really live to see you tie the Gary LaFontaine style Caddis's. That'd be a real treat for me....and all of us. Thanks Hans. - Justin.
Fly Tying with Justin Aldrich. Hi Justin, Gary indeed has left us with a lot of food for thought, and some very imaginative and successful patterns. On the Deep Sparkle Pupa/Sparkle Emerger video - we shall see ;-) Cheers, Hans W
+Robert Fine Robert, this is a Mike Mercer pattern, and one I found interesting to tie. I do not have much experience fishing it, and do not feel qualified to speak on its behalf. Why not tie up a few and make up your own findings ;-) Cheers, Hans W
Hi Bob, for these video clips i use a Nikon Coolpix 7700. I find it has the right combination of sensor size (1/1.7") and focal length lens to give me the required depth of field. Lighting is very basic, standard tying lamp over the vise, and white desk surface. Cheers, Hans W
It's impressive and I would not have guess a point and shoot was capable of video this high quality. In a lot of the tying videos the auto focus drifts a lot but yours are spot on focus all the time. Excellent work

thank you for great videos!
Once again, same as most of my inquiries. mostly curious about the where and how. I can imagine endless possibilities.

Hans, what is your camera setup for these videos (make, model, lens, etc...)? It is excellent and you have great detail and the lighting is very good.
