I did appreciate the sound fxs of the battle reenactment. Especially the rope sound at the end. Somebody had to put those into the film. Just brilliant.
Got to say Tony's been doing this for quite a while and I give him top marks for consistency nothing has changed about this man in like 20 years other than his hairline
This guy is awesome haha never watched his shows before but I love him so far. Very educational too! This looks like such a cool place to live actually. That guys street art at 19:01 is really cool!
Tony Robinson is a comedian who played a starring role in Blackadder alongside Rowan Atkinson (Mr Bean), and the presenter on an archaeology TV show called Time Team for 20 years. He's a wonderful person!
Absolute enjoy watching this series. Hope you do more. I've watched all of Time Team series and hope they bring it back with Tony as it's commentator. I know some of the cast are no longer alive, and was saddened to hear they were gone.
Coming in like merlin, San san sarim, zippity bop plop neebo zam zom zarin. Sending lighting bolts straight from my eyes at your friends, Found excalibur now the real fun begins, got curse for your miss, one that cant miss, turn you straight into crisps. im taking whats on your wrist, turn into animals, bite off at the fist. Dont mess with the wizard, or youre gonna get the blizzard while im gettin wizard slizzard yeah. next stop, platform 9 3/4, then, the wizards go to florida aint goin near mordor but you just found the order
Rather inaccurate precis of events - particularly identifying the senior merchant (not the captain - he was a mutineer) as the hero Surely it was the soldier who led the defense against the mutineers who was the hero if anyone was
"the scum of the earth, the convicts" ahh yes, the convicts that were shipped off to a new country because they stole a loaf of bread trying to feed their starving family in an imperialist monarchy.
Concerning Tony's intro how rough and tough that land was and how nobody in their right mind would come there out of their free will: it might have been so in the previous centuries from the convicts' perspective. Nowadays I am saving money to travel to Australia when the pandemy is over, and - considering I'm not a millionaire and can't fly all over the continent and stay for a full month or so - I'd go RIGHT THERE (or somewhere in the vicinity) because I don't care about the whole man-made stuff and crowds of people in big cities. I want to see the whales and then I could just as well die.
Im sure glad that Tony isn't "telling the story" of the Batavia. He should have concentrated on the exhibition. Too complex a story to tell in 5 minutes
There's a great video on TH-cam where some old timer gives a very detailed tour of a replica of the Batavia, awesome tour of an awesome ship
De Batavia- replica vond ik er mooi uit zien toen ik de Batavia werf in de Flevopolder bezocht. De presentatie op deze video vind ik echt leuk gedaan.

I've yet to see Alice Loxton in a single one of these episodes... 🤔
I think she just introduces the presentation .
She's the promo babe.
This cracked me up and I dont know why
Probably still trying to get the plum out of her mouth 🤷♂️
i love how willing the people are to participate, it was so fun to watch!
Love???? Fun ??? Or most likely uneducated
Tony Robinson is the kinda guy you wanna have a beer with while still being fun without beer
he's not
Nah he’s annoying
Got to say Tony's been doing this for quite a while and I give him top marks for consistency nothing has changed about this man in like 20 years other than his hairline
Ill give him points for wearing the all black classic vans in the intro, he knows whats up

"The history of this place is amazing, it all started way back in 1970..." XD
Absolute enjoy watching this series. Hope you do more. I've watched all of Time Team series and hope they bring it back with Tony as it's commentator. I know some of the cast are no longer alive, and was saddened to hear they were gone.

That was fun to watch!
Free history documentaries that we can get a discount for? Do you think we're all mad ?
"the scum of the earth, the convicts"
ahh yes, the convicts that were shipped off to a new country because they stole a loaf of bread trying to feed their starving family in an imperialist monarchy.
What a phenomenal guy. 🥰

You should fact check before uploading these videos, that ship was not blown off course, it was ran aground intentionally
actualy the story in the book tells about having mistake rocks for waves in the water with moonlight sparkling on them.
Perth the greatest place on earth
If you've never been anywhere on earth
If Australia was made by just English prisoners being cast away there, I wonder how their dialect changed 🧐
Pity the real history re Batavia isn’t quite correct…sanitised for tv
What an obnoxious character.
