    The FX9 is a full frame camera, so coming from an FS7 I thought I'd see what lenses I already owned that would work with the full frame chip, and see the results of the widest on Steadicam!
    Equipment seen: Sony PXW-FX9 camera kit from www.Maddogs.tv
    - Sony 28-135mm f4 OSS servo zoom lens amzn.to/2HnhuWB
    - Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 Art lens amzn.to/37nyMha
    - Nikon 20mm f1.8 AFS lens amzn.to/3kiyfAy
    - Sigma 14mm f2.8 HSM lens amzn.to/2ITdu0R
    - Sony 10-18mm f4 OSS lens amzn.to/3dVzGmt
    - Customised Tiffen Archer Steadicam system
    - Chrosziel MB450 mattebox

    That 10-18mm is insane! very very minor loss in sharpness around the edges. Impressive stuff!

    Hi!!! Nice report... Try to find the "Soviet MIR 20m" m42 mount!!! it's a dream cine look.
    I have the set MIR lenses; 28mm and 37mm and it's magic the cinelook that they give!!! I can imagine This lenses in the fantastical FX9!!!
    Than for sharing your knowledge.

    Always interested to see a Steadycam in use as I'm working on a homebrew one, slowly solving the problems.

    This video was great- very informative, good selection of lenses and cool interior shots. Does the new sony 16-35mm pro lens interest you at all? That would be a beast on the FX9!

      I did look at it, but plumped for the Sigma 14-24mm f2.8 instead for a bit more wide, & for less money.

    while testing the zoom range when you can confidently say that you are happy the image circle covers enough of your sensor its important do go through different apertures too.

    Hey John nice review of the lens! I have a very small TH-cam channel of my own. I was wondering if you will be up to doing a interview about steadicams and just demonstrate how they work and stuff like that thank you! Damon, q

    Does the FX9 have S35 mode like the FX6? If so, would be interesting to test the 10-18 in 'native' mode.

      @@TheSteadicamMan I think your unique perspective would be helpful for those that would have an interest in perhaps buying the came-just an idea! BTW, here's one of my music videos which is very psychedelic (retro) with me doing some Jimi Hendrix styled guitar playing on this song I wrote and produced!

    For me the Sigmar DG DN 24-70 F2.8 is also a good lens for steadicam Operation

    so this is an archer sled with an aero 30 arm and vest?

    • @TheSteadicamMan
      @TheSteadicamMan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, Archer 1 sled modified & upgraded by me & Seb-J, A30 arm and it’s actually a Flyer LE vest which I like because of how comfortable & low profile it is.

    For when using AF, i would rather use a GM lens(even the new FE C 16-35 from Sony) than fidget around with any third party lens or even with metabones.

    What would be a good stedicam to get for this camera? I have a glidecam 4000 but the fx9 seems way to heavy for it.

    Hey john in a video you made. You were showing your mody version where the efp steadicam could come in dynamic balance where dit you get the kit for IT and can i buy IT ?? 🙂

    • @TheSteadicamMan
      @TheSteadicamMan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I designed it myself & put it together with the help of a local blacksmith. Pretty straightforward actually.

    Hi, I'd like to ask permission to use a very short footage of this video: the part where you're moving a bit with the Steadicam for my video lesson. The video will be uploaded on TH-cam as unlisted and is going to be exclusive to my students. I will also place your channel name. I hope I can get your approval.

    • @TheSteadicamMan

      It’s a modified Archer 1. I have the original yoke on it usually.
