In this video we are showing you how to remove and replace the rear bumper cover on a Honda Civic Eight Generation. It will be the same procedure for the before facelift and after facelift so it should cover from 2005 to 2011.
It is very simple procedure and you will not need any special tools. You will need a flat head screwdriver, pliers, 5mm hex key, and a phillips screwdriver.
The 2 plastic clips tend to brake overtime. If your brake you can get replacement at O'Reilly, Autozone or any big parts store. You can also find them very inexpensive on eBay as well.
It will be the same procedure for the Sedan 4 door and the Coupe 2 door Honda Civic.

Huge thank you guys, both for this one and the tail light cover replacement. Probably saved me $125 by teaching me how to do it myself.

Thanks for showing me how to do this. I appreciate your videos. Had no idea you have to remove the bumper to get the tail light covers out. Cool Videos.

Thanks so much for this valuable info. I just purchased an 09 Civic and the rear tail light was cracked . Tried to replace by just removing the 4 bolts on the back of the assembly but it wouldn`t come out, now I know why thanks to you. Will be able to do it now with the help of this video.

From my understanding, those 2 black clips are meant to be pushed in, once they're pushed, they'll come loose... No screwdrivers, pliers, wedging or breaking required, and they can be reset and reuse over and over and over....

Seems pretty straight forward. The same steps should be applicable for a 2013 Honda Civic right?

What are the name of the clips that you can purchase on eBay to replace the ones you break when you are trying to remove the underside of the bumper? I need to buy some.

Why are those bottom two clips there at all? That is the only part that makes it hard. Is it a make-work tactic to create work for mechanics?

There are brackets holding the bumper on. Is there a way to remove those brackets because the tabs on them that hold the bumper on snapped so my bumper won't stay on.
