Rather, it was the only one where the theme “Inner Peace” did not sound and Shifu did not show any epic tricks. By the way, Shifu didn’t even fight here.
1:11 My boy (Punching Bag/Adversary) made a return after so many years. I never thought my favorite Kung Fu Panda character would get a cameo in this film (Yes, a punching bag is my fav character in the series) and he's just as cute and awesome as ever, still knocking Po.

Weird enough, this wasn’t as well received compared to the previous kfp movie yet it made that one the lowest grossing film to come from the series. Might let them have this… And strangely enough, this was directed by a person who also worked on a third sequel and released in the same year as another 4th movie, and its spin-off prequel sequel is also set to release in that exact year (2027)

I feel like this film, while not on the level of the first few, could have been a lot better. I think there’s a version of this film in an alternate universe that could have been more insightful and meaningful than what we got. I don’t dislike the idea of Po moving from a warrior to a teacher role, ending his fighting days and cultivating the next generation, and him struggling with that change. But they could have done it a lot better, along with Awkwafina’s character. In my alternate take on the story, the fox could have still have the mindset that the only person you can trust is yourself and no one is genuine, but add a bit of a twist to her backstory. Maybe the thieves she once lived with were kind of Robin Hood like characters, who only stole from those who could afford it, and never more than they needed. And at some point she left them, which led to the leader feeling betrayed because she joined the chameleon. Honestly the Chameleons evil plot and ability to steal techniques are honestly stupid and don’t really fit the universe, especially considering her whole motivation is kind of pathetic considering there is another major character in the series who is the same size as her and is a master martial artist. Tai Lung’s and Shen’s motivations are more interesting. For Tai Lung, a child who gets angry because they don’t meet the expectations a parent has set, or isn’t defended by said parent when another says bad things about them. Tai Lung was more angry that Shifu didn’t defend him when Oogway said he had darkness in his heart, than getting the scroll. Or in Shen’s case, a person who is rejected for his actions and stores up years of resentment, thinking major accomplishments will fill up that void. The chameleon’s motivations are honestly not as interesting and make her a rather bland character.
I dont really like the idea that dragon warrior is just a mantle that can be given to anyone... Also in oogways case he was getting very old wheres po is nowhere near retirement age.
@@schwartzy65 that is fair, the title itself is not something that can just be given to anyone, and Po is still very much in his prime so he doesn’t need to retire just yet. But I do think this film could have had him start taking on more of a role as a teacher, maybe so by the last film he takes Shifu’s place or something. But I do agree that him giving the mantle away is rather ridiculous, given it’s treated like a Chosen One role at first.

This is the only Kung Fu Panda movie not to feature the iconic song, "Kung Fu Fighting".
