my neighbor's goats starting being really loud in the middle of this and I was just laughing so hard XD "Feel your feet in simple canvas shoes" **AGGRAVATED GOAT NOISES**
Janina Matthewson has the most perfect voice for relaxation tapes. I have to concentrate to actually pay attention to what she is saying because the lilt of her voice is so soothing that it just sort of flows over my brain.
Either these are genuinely relaxing me to sleep or something weird is going on. I distintcly remember starting this one, but had no memory of finishing it, and according to my playlist I've also listened to the next one? Guess I have to listen again like I did with the first two.
I've actually had really bad insomnia lately and this was super relaxing. - I had a feeling that these cassettes were trying to free the person in the institution, but this episode confirmed it.
I think the narrator is helping the listener escape the Institute, or maybe she is a stalker. Every cassette starts as how I guess relaxation cassettes work, but after a few minutes the narrator is teaching the listener to use psychic powers and study the Institute in order to escape in the future of the story.
how does this work? WHY does this work? I usually can't sleep, and I usually wake up several times at night and I'm not rested when I wake. last night, having listened to this that day before, I was able to quickly fall asleep, stay asleep, and be rested when I woke up. and I even had a good dream! a good one! I usually have either nightmares or no dreams at all and I had a good dream, and managed to still be relaxed and awake in the morning. really, how do you do this? do you plan it?
good god it is one in the morning and I'm sitting here, listening to this because I just finished Alice isn't dead, and I'm fully awake. what am I doing with my life...?
I have a theory similar to raphaela ratzlaff's theory of these tapes being a mother trying to reach out to a daughter in the Institute - What if it's a patient who was originally commissioned to recite the tapes, only to become a patient LATER and is hearing these?
I can't listen to Night Vale (personally I find it disturbing) but I LOVE this podcast. So good! I can't wait to find out what happens... Also this is very relaxing to listen to. :)
I finally got around to listening to this one, and it just so happens to be when I'm awake in bed, trying to sleep. I normally follow the instructions and feel relaxed, but geez I'm sleepy now.. the voice wasn't lying about maybe falling asleep during the cassette.
Is this someone trying to help us escape the institute? It feels like it, but I don't know. Whenever she said escape....insomnia I felt like it was kinda confirmed.
because it's super fun to try and connect all the podcasts together! Like with Alice isn't dead, I like to think it's in the same universe as Night Vale.
Spoilers for this episode Ok so what I got from this episode : -At 2:05 pm it's safe to do stuff because the person watching the cameras at that time cares about us -The first of the five doors is the toilets
The cassette lady is helping us escape im calling it

The men with sunglasses are "the man who is not short" and "the man who is not tall" from nightvale
Did the voice say 'men'? I thought they said 'people.' Might be something of significance, though I'm reserving on the theory crafting in this series
Unicorn Rebellion didn't she say they were in a dog park? the night vale dog park is forbiddin.
Either these are genuinely relaxing me to sleep or something weird is going on. I distintcly remember starting this one, but had no memory of finishing it, and according to my playlist I've also listened to the next one? Guess I have to listen again like I did with the first two.
matpat needs a third channel just for this, Alice, and nightvale
Don't you guys just love listening to podcasts at one in the morning? I sure do!
Yes!
That's literally what I'm doing right at this moment.
I've tried to listen to this three separate times now and I've fallen asleep before the end every time.
Just remember to listen in your sleep.
I've actually had really bad insomnia lately and this was super relaxing. - I had a feeling that these cassettes were trying to free the person in the institution, but this episode confirmed it.
Freedom? Who said anything about that? This is simply a way to help release you from the tight shackles and restrictions of.. insomnia. Yeah.

/subtlety in the speaker's goals
I can't wait until the Within The Wires book comes out
same
aww but i'm already a member!
That being said, love listening to these as I fall asleep
Thank you for helping a very anxious bean to fall asleep with the extra anxiety COVID has brought her ❤️
good god it is one in the morning and I'm sitting here, listening to this because I just finished Alice isn't dead, and I'm fully awake. what am I doing with my life...?
I am calling it right now, this is a mother reaching out to her daughter
I thought it was a sister, but a mother is probably more likely.
Theresa France also a good tjeory
I have a theory similar to raphaela ratzlaff's theory of these tapes being a mother trying to reach out to a daughter in the Institute -
What if it's a patient who was originally commissioned to recite the tapes, only to become a patient LATER and is hearing these?
So you think it's the parent being reached out to?
I can't listen to Night Vale (personally I find it disturbing) but I LOVE this podcast. So good! I can't wait to find out what happens... Also this is very relaxing to listen to. :)
I love these so much
Does anybody else actually follow the instructions in the tapes?
Oh yeah
I finally got around to listening to this one, and it just so happens to be when I'm awake in bed, trying to sleep. I normally follow the instructions and feel relaxed, but geez I'm sleepy now.. the voice wasn't lying about maybe falling asleep during the cassette.
Wesley Hunt It'd feel weird not to XD
I do when I can

This is either STREX, World Government, or Fye the number station radio hist who was a self aware software system
I'm not sure why people are so keen to connect these works to night vale. Alice isn't Dead wasn't connected. I doubt this is.

+Rithiei jones Alice is connected
The "hungry" billboards are in the night vale pod cast
+Unicorn Rebellion really? that's actually really neat. which one so I can listen to it ^ ^

It hit me during this one, isnt a midcard ad in a thing designed to put you in an altered, suggestible state kind of irresponsible?
first in thirst
