Twenty years ago we called this 'book cloth' and the tool a 'rotary cutter'. But everything keeps changing, the hand sewing I did since the 50's is now a new thing called 'slow stitching'. I shake my head... This is lovely, your videos are the best.
So lovely!!! I used the birdie collage tissue last year on wood slices and put fine white glitter on top and glued cord on for hangers and decorated my Christmas tree with them. They turned out beautifully. I will try to make the journal this year. Thank you for sharing!!!❤❤❤
Gorgeous covers, I’ll definitely give this technique a go. If you put cornflour in a cotton sock you’ll have a dauber to wipe over anything sticky or static ☺️
Hello Andrea. Stopping by to let you know I’ve been very unwell since last November. I have been listening/ watching your videos. Barbara. I have been very unwell since last November. I listen and take notes. Anything for me during my day I have loved this series_ God bless you
I LOVE this technique and I can hardly wait to give it a try! Thank you for the tip using the corn starch to remove some of the stickiness - brilliant!
Thank you so much Andrea, that’s really really awesome and amazing, what a fantastic idea 💡. I really really love 💕 those tissue paper’s that you have that made this so stunning and gorgeous too. I’ve got some Tim Holtz tissue paper and I can see the possibilities now. Love 💕 Love 💕 Love 💕 this. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Thanks for this great tutorial. I purchased these tissue papers some time ago and really didn't know what to do with them. I love these little journals and am excited to see how you finish them.
Beautiful covers and tags! I have some of the TH birdie tissue so I might practice with tags. If the tags turn out then I'll give a cover a go. Thanks for the inspiration Andrea.
This was amazing andera love the collage papers and those fabric covers are so stunning with the patty stains. The tags were gorgeous loved it all. So vintage looking just wonderful. Tfs xx cant wait to see more amazing creations.
Just found your video today, what a great idea. Beautiful papers you’ve made! I might have to give it a try, always looking for some new project to try.
All your items are beautiful, I also have the tissue papers from Tim Holtz, and have not used them yet but now I will thanks for showing they can be used with fabric as a collage so maybe I will give this a try soon!! Thank you for sharing your are so creative...
This is going to be my next project! Love the process. I was having a little giggle when you were trying to think of the name of the rotary cutter😄. And I thought to myself, there you go again, talking to the screen and Andrea cannot hear you! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you when I done this last time I used the TM collage medium personally better results with watered down PVA. ( not knocking the collage medium as love it but better for smaller projects.) x
Love everything you do!!! You inspire me to try different things!!! If I did not use the Patty Stainz would it still be pliable and soft looking?Thank you for sharing !!!
Cool idea. Can't really see those markers on the tag. I would use Posca paint pens to color in and a little white to highlight..make it a little dimensional. Was that black gesso you used? I've never used that at all. Christmassy with a lil gold glitter.
Thank you the pens actually worked fine and are quite vibrant must of been lighting. (I like post a pens though) I didn’t use anything black was it the stainz by patty pockets you are referring to? X
Gday from australia, love the rolls of tissue paper, where if possible could i find something like that, what store in UK did you buy it from?, as my mother in law is in uk, she could get some and send it over…thank you , have an awesome day/night xxx
Excuse me ,what do you do to stick the rice paper and then on top to protect it, could you tell me the name?is disstess matte, vintage, multi medium gloss ,crazing?
Curious if you or anyone else has tried doing same basic thing but only doing the glue on the top layer? If so, does it give same effect or different? Just curious since the paper is so thin. heading into work or I would try it right now myself. Lolol. Thanks for all you do!!
What I can foresee is that you would have to saturate the top to make sure it went through which could cause the tissue to disintegrate, with soaking the bottom layer you
I did say in the video it was watered down glue (pva). 2 parts glue 1 part water unless your glue is runny. The consistency of single cream if that helps x

Thank you, I remember asking about the slow stitching as thought it must be something different lol. Good name though as is pretty slow lol x
Slow but beautiful... there's a lot of love and dedication in something that takes time.
If I lose inspiration I just watch your videos ❤️

Cornstarch for stickiness- who knew?💝💐💝
Or talc but I prefer corn starch as not keen on perfume talc. Migraine might occur lol. X
@@artymaze Thank you for the additional info!💝
I haven’t tried the fabric paper technique, but I will, now! Your work is just gorgeous!

Excuse me ,what do you do to stick the rice paper and then on top to protect it, could you tell me the name?is disstess matte, vintage, multi medium gloss ,crazing?
I used PVA ( glue) watered down, then to finish Stainz by patty pockets. X
@@artymaze thank you 😊

I thought that I was the messiest worker i know!
ever add a drop of ochre to it to make it look beeswaxy?
Just watched again to remind how to do this, mother Tim holtz tissue looks great! Did you make these into journals? Xx
What are you spreading with the paintbtush?
I did say in the video it was watered down glue (pva). 2 parts glue 1 part water unless your glue is runny. The consistency of single cream if that helps x
Did you finish the back of the tags also?
Sorry can’t remember but if they go into a journal then I will always do something with the backs x
@@artymaze thank you 😊
