I actually have seen an example of a frog being swallowed alive and living. I was fishing in a pond on the family farm and decided to test out a new lure. I felt a fish strike it but then nothing so after a minute or so I decided to reel in and cast again, but it felt like I was dragging something, which turned out to be a decent sized bass about 17 inches long which had completely swallowed the lure past the point of which I could dig it out by hand (which is why it wasn't fighting the hooks, as the lure was somewhere in the guts rather than in the mouth) so I killed the bass and then sliced open the midsection to dig the lure out when all of a sudden a frog, covered in some nasty looking substance, came jumping out and went right back to the pond. There was only one other witness to the event but to this day it is most definitely one of the wildest things I've seen.

Do I have a story to share! Now I'm not sure how much of this story is true or exaggerated, but I'll retell what I've been told.
Long before I was born, my great grandmother appeared to have died. This was back in the old days with much less technology and medical advancement. Whatever happened, she went unconscious, cold, and didn't appear to be breathing or have a pulse. The next day, her family and friends held a wake for her in her home home. Everyone gathered in her living room. While they were surrounding her body crying and saying prayers, she began to regain consciousness. She started gasping and coughing. People nearly shat their pants. They began to run the hell out of the house, thinking she was the undead. When she regained her whereabouts, she said, "What the hell is everyone doing in my house staring at me?!"
She literally woke up at her own wake! 😆 When things settled and she was feeling better, her family explained to her how she went unconscious for over a day, and looked and felt dead to the touch. She was upset at everyone for being so quick to assume that she died, but she was relieved to not have been buried alive (embalming wasn't common practice back then, not even sure if it was a thing yet). Many people back then feared being buried alive. My great grandmother lucked out with her timing of waking up! 😆

When I was a kid, I guess this was probably the late Seventies or early Eighties, we caught a fish, I think a salmon, that had obviously been eating a lot of minnows just before it went after our hook.
When we removed the hook we found a minnow, I'd guess maybe about an inch long iirc, right in its mouth; that one swam off immediately (we found it as soon as we went to remove the hook, right after we landed it and conked the salmon on the head). Checking further (by carefully gutting it immediately), there were another two in its throat, all lined up, that were still alive, although the third was already looking to take a bit of damage to its skin from the stomach acids, and we weren't sure it would live (although of course we let them go too).
There were a few more, I think another three or four, maybe? But they were dead, and increasingly breaking down as they progressed down the esophagus into the stomach.
I still remember all these little minnows, all in a line, swallowed tail first, down its throat into its stomach.
So I think in that case at least, the minnows were dying from apparently very strong stomach acid before they suffocated. But I imagine the salmon was probably swallowing at least a bit of water along with each minnow, so they might have had just enough oxygen to stay alive, at least for a little bit.
So, yeah, they were totally getting digested alive.

@@natthekiwi7074 Nope not at all. Jonah was written as satire. Anyone who knows enough Hebrew will tell you that. The reason it has been traditionally thought of otherwise by Christians is that culturally it was thought that religion was too important to contain humour. This is an extremely invalid view as for example the OT in the original Hebrew is stuffed full of puns and mickey takes. EG Egyptian Pharaoh's not being given their real name but being called for example "Pharaoh big nose the third" (I have not ever found out any writings that contain the first and second so the "third is probably a Vygotsk type cultural artefact). As for the Bible being a fairy tale, compared to other historical books of the time it's far more accurate.

@@elliotkamper True no fish does this, not naturally, but with God all things are possible and God made it happen.
God still does things today that would not be possible by natural means, I have had things happen to myself and many people I know closely have had things happen to them, such as being healed, being protected from or in tragedy, being prophesied to, and other things. But people who have no faith will never believe these things when they hear of it.
For example: one time in my house one winter, our space heater got bumped and was blowing up against the wall and posed a fire hazard. My Dad got out of bed to go to the bathroom and found it like this. He pulled it away from the wall when he saw it and felt the wall where the scolding hot air was blowing, and the spot on the wall was colder than the wall around it. It was an inner house wall, drywall, and nothing to absorb the heat inside the wall. This is not possible by natural means, yet it happened. That is personal proof to me that God protected us from that for some reason.
And also to add, I cannot count how many times I have seen God answer prayers swiftly when people truly trusted in and when't to him including countless times he has done this for me. Other times to we must wait on the Lord and when we do it is worth it and he answers, I have seen this too happen countless times and it was obvious to all involved that it was from God. Oh the works of the Lord are wonderful and amazing!
I believe God wants us to tell people of what Christ Jesus did for us on the cross. He died for us and came back to life, to pay the punishment for our sins for us and defeat death to give us hope to live again too. We are all sinners deserving of destruction, but God loves us and does not want us to suffer this, so all we have to do is repent of our sin and go to his son Jesus Christ for forgiveness. Trust in him and ask for forgiveness with a sincere heart and it will be granted u to you. Seek him and ask for his Holy Spirit and it will be given you. Let the Holy Spirit move you to tell others of him so that they may be saved as well, for if you really trust in him and believe in this promise, it will be given you and you will be moved to tell others.

There are a lot of microscope videos on youtube that show one microbe eating another. For example, an amoeba eating a paramecium. Usually the predator cell will envelope its prey in part of itself and create a sort of "stomach" hole called a food vacuole where the unfortunate prey is now trapped. Digestive enzymes are pumped into this food vacuole and just like in a regular stomach, it breaks the prey cell down. Watching this all take place, it basically just looks like the prey sorta "pops" when its cellular membrane ruptures, releasing all of its juicy insides. And then over time the various digestive enzymes slowly break apart the bits of cell until it's just a soup of cell parts. If you wanna see a video of this, I'd recommend the channels either Microbe Hunter, or if you're a fan of Hank Green, he narrates a similar channel called Journey to the Microcosmos. Which are both really good channels. I never really thought about microscopy before I found them.

Oooookay so Jonah, not Noah, was a prophet in ancient Israel.
Long story short, he decided to disobey God and take a ship to somewhere west, got thrown over board by the crew, was swallowed by “a great fish” (not specifically a whale) and after a few days was spit up onto the shore to go do what God told him to do in the first place.
Gepetto was Panchio’s dad/creator, and I think they did burn the ship or something to make the whale spit them out.
Noah was even more ancient than Jonah.
He’s the guy who made the ark with all the animals to survive the Flood.

Garter snakes totally eat live pray.
As a kid I has some as pets and they would each go after a frog and the one that got the head would end up eating it all.
A few frogs got ripped in half during this feeding frenzy.
The frog would sometimes still be kicking after being swallowed and it would make the snake bump around the aquarium.

    • @russlehman2070

When I was a kid, I had to rescue one of my garter snakes from being cannibalized by a bigger one. I mostly fed them earthworms, and they would often get into a tug of war with one snake eating the worm from each end. Usually this ended with the worm breaking in two and the snakes eating each end, or sometimes one snake would succeed in pulling the worm from the other, but this time, the bigger snake just swallowed his end of the worm and kept going on the smaller snake. I did manage to rescure the smaller snake, and kept the two separated after that.
