    Very solid bluetooth receiver, but the built-in DAC was a bit too bright sounding for me. I pared mine via optic cable with a SMSL PS100 which is a very warm sounding DAC that sells for about $30.00. For around $70.00, ended up with a bluetooth setup that sounds way better than it should for the price.

    The passcode of BluDento device is set to 0000 (four zero) by default. However we can set different passcode for every BluDento device in order to avoid strange connections.

    Looking to pick this up for JBL active speakers. Would plugging this into a 2-way-rca switcher cause issues? I want to switch between Bluetooth and vinyl with a simple button press. Great review. Thanks.

      Great Question..... Yes you can use the RCA switcher, that is what I do. Cheers

    Great video! I have the BLT-HD and tried streaming to my Schiit Modi 3E, and could not hear much of a difference. The Modi sounded brighter, with less bass, yet more detailed. The Burr-Brown DAC in the BLT-HD, to me, sounded warmer, full bodied, and had better bottom end presence, but I'm splitting hairs. The BLT by itself is impressive. Do you think this B1 would be an upgrade to the older BLT-HD? Thank you!!!!

    • @breakerbroke23
      @breakerbroke23  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. Any upgrade over what you already have will be minor. I like the BLT-HD and the iFi Audio Zen Blue V2 best, BLT-HD being the best bang for the buck... IMO

      All BluDento BT receivers are with the same DAC of TI PCM5102A but with different BT chipset and housing. Hope it helps.

    Question for ya - If I’m streaming music from my iPhone via Spotify, am I going to notice a difference in sound quality from something like the B1 compared to a BLT-2 or HD model? From what I understand, the IPhone doesn’t support aptX and Spotify doesn’t output HD audio, which leads me to believe there would be no benefit in choosing the more expensive models over the B1 in my situation. Thoughts? ..also wondering, if you’re going to only use the optical/coax digital output on any of these models, does it even matter which one you get in terms of sound quality alone? Thanks!

      I had the same question. bought this and am not impressed with the sound quality. The trebles sound very harsh to me and the soundstage squished. maybe just not my flavour of DAC. I can't comment on any other bludento products, im actually coming from a crappy old SBC Logitech adapter which objectively has less clarity in a lot of ways, but I think I prefer the sound profile, at least after a few hours on day 1.

      @@tobyb2729 Hey! I asked this question on a Facebook audio steamer group and was pointed to the Wiim mini or pro models and ditching Bluetooth for wifi. There’s many forums and TH-cam vids talking about these - seem to be best bang for buck wifi streamers. I ordered one and a Schiit Modi+ dac to connect it to. Best bang for buck wifi streamer and dac from what I read online. Also switched from Spotify to Apple Music to get lossless playback. I was just switching back between same song via Spotify and Apple Music in my car and there was a noticeable difference! Apple Music 👍👍👍 ..so I’m sure it will sound better through the wifi streamer and dac vs. Spotify, too.

      @@OTWRC hey, thanks for sharing your advice! Unfortunately my WiFi drops out regularly on my phone, so Bluetooth is a must. I've always found it more reliable in general. I use 320kbps mp3s locally stored in my library. I didn't notice that you mentioned you were on an iPhone - I'm using an Android device which does support aptx-hd. But seemingly I prefer the sound using regular aptx on this receiver, which I do not understand.. it's not as simple as preferring higher compression either, as aux clearly sounds best of all. The soundstage just seems more similar to the aux using aptx or aac (though on aac I notice more sort of bleed on certain sounds). Very puzzling, but I am fighting to trust my ears rather than analyse for several more hours lol

    I have a different bludento model and wonder if a stand alone dac may even increase sound quality? I'm happy the way it is, but could I be happier?

    • @breakerbroke23

      Depends on the DAC, I have a SchiTT DAC and the one in the BLT-HD kept up with the outboard DAC. IMHO
      Now maybe a very HiEnd ( hi dollar) DAC may make a slight improvement, but I honestly doubt it.

    • @BluDento
      @BluDento ปีที่แล้ว

      BluDento B1 is with a built-in DAC but Esinkin NOT.

    • @LandronArtifacts
      @LandronArtifacts ปีที่แล้ว

      Not an answer to my question, but thanks. You're also wrong about the Esinkin. It has a rudimentary DAC by necessity because it must convert the digital Bluetooth signal to analog internally for any useable signal to come out of its analog outputs. What you mean is the Esinkin does not have a digital output. A digital out is not the same as a DAC. It just means you'll need to use an external DAC when using the digital out. When using the digital out you're bypassing the internal DAC.
      Anyone have an answer to my original question? How is the sound quality of the Bludento vs the Esinkin out of the analog outputs?
