the main issue with x100 & bowens adapter, that not only it makes bigger softboxes less effective, but also large dome modifiers are working like softbox too I think it needs some dome defuser on the adapter by itself
Do you know how this light compares to the colbor cl100x or colbor cl100xm. Also considering the fan noise or light indexes? Hard to find any info on why to pick one over the other. I hope you can help.
@@ArtVideoProductions for me it’s not a fair comparison, for Zhiyun you showed the combo packaging and it seems like it offers more, but in the standard one, Colbor offers more with a little diffuser. You also did not mention that Colbor has CRI of 97+ instead of 95+ of Zhiyun and that is a lot of difference
Once again, thank you so much for doing the reviews as you do. Please keep it this way, real professionals take the time to read manuals, so we also take the time to watch your videos, because it never is a waste of time. Also you are not a marketing puppet like some others just doing ads for the companies. I would love to hear your opinion on the CineLight led panel lights from Romania, they look quite solid for field use.
I think ive missed the Colbor description regarding using bowens mount. So Im asking if you can confirm if the Colbor W100 is compatible with bowens modifier?
You said X100 is on the magenta side and W100 on the green side. Do you think that will be an issue if someone uses both lights at the same time (different direction to model)? I have the X100 and I want to buy the W100R
Your client may not be able to tell the difference at all. But there will be a very slight noticeable visible difference (for you) if you place the light on the subject’s face side by side. Other than that, like, one light on the subject, while the other one is on the background or acting as a hair light, then NO. It won’t matter.
FYI, Sokani and Sutefoto are identical lights under different brands. Yes I have 2 sutefoto COB ones, but they are RGB and the comparison wouldn't make sense, and not only for being RGB, but also that they don't have the same "X100" physical characteristic .
No momento parece que o adaptador está para ser feito ou está em produção para montar com a Softbox. Temos que ver que tipo de material é feito (plástico ou metal) para ver se é possível aguentar uma Softbox de 1.20m.
Thank you for your comparison, very detailed!😍 I also own multiple Zhiyun LEDs (X100, X60 RGB, G200....) The Zhiyun APP need adjust the light brightness by 0.1%, but it has no effect, which is very annoying. When I want to fine-tune the brightness, I need to press +/- on the APP 10 times to adjust 1% brightness. This problem also often occurs in other brands of apps (eg. Aputure). I really don’t understand why it can’t be adjusted in 1% increments. Anyway, there is no 0.1% fine-tuning function.🤯
Even though I couldn’t see the importance of .1% adjustment on a 100 light, All COLBOR needs is a firmware update on the App, which their COLBOR Studio App works flawlessly. I’m sure they will do it soon. Usually, manufacturers listen to what we need.
Great review! Certainly enjoyed the details as well as the professional perspective and uses that the light can be employed in. Keep up the good work and talk to you soon. Cj
Awesome Job! You read my mind i really thought a comparison would be amazing and here it is. Even more "copies" of the zhiyun come out there are Yidoblo, and noname versions, Rollei makes one now and i really love the form factor but i really hope there would be a sturdy metal one with a "transformable" mount that can also take bowens mount somehow... but the size is amazing it makes it so easy to put a overhead light somewhere :)
I'm from Malaysia, we are running 50hz electricity but our battery died. I read quite a bit of a review from their china net and people from china are also complaining about x100 battery issue
@@ArtVideoProductions yeah, glad that made that decision. However we ordered ours directly from China and the last we checked, shipping it back to china would cost a new battery. Hoping to find a solution in near future
I bought the X100 and that shit battery worked like 4 times only, they sent me another one same issue now I am sending them all the package for repair or replacement, just sending the stuff cost me around $50 so I do not recommend that X100 at all. even tho it is a good light but it is not reliable.
When I sent my Canon R3 for a pre exam, because my autofocus is acting up, Canon charged me every cent for shipping and insurance, just to take a look at and I got nothing but an estimate. If my Canon battery went bad, I have to buy another one. It’s that “simple”. Having a lifetime warranty on a battery is a very generous offer if you ask me.
@@ArtVideoProductions you can take out a third party company insurance for all your gear and get a replacement or refund. As other said, zhiyun has really a good service, they did replaced the battery and even the replacement one didn't work, they asked me to send it again and well, I told my self another 50euros for shipments !!? nah, I will try to fix it or just sell the light without the battery and buy another brand. fortunately I could fix it by myself and now it is working. but I will never buy again any zhiyun lights with batteries, only cable lights.
This review seems a bit biased towards zhiyun... you made excuses for all of the short comings of the x100 or just overlooked them, and then you ripped the colbor apart without giving the same benefit of the doubt. Every single point you made it was like "the colbor does this which isnt very good, but the x100 does this and is much better" Im paraphrasing obviously but it seemed like the entire review was just shilling the zhiyun products. I came here looking for a completely unbiased review and didnt find that. There are lots of examples of this throughout your review but one specific example of your bias is that you were trying to make zhiyun out to be better price wise with all it includes and amazon gives discounts on it bringing it closer to the colbor price with battery.. but you didnt show the same amazon discounts colbor has for their battery combo bringing it down to $209... but i get it... zhiyun gave you a free light and wanted a video
I can’t please everyone. I don’t have bias towards anyone as I am a store dealer of many brands of lights. In the video, it’s my opinion of what I think and I made the video as I see fit.
I can confirm about the great service zhiyun has. They responded so quickly about the battery replacement. I’m definitely sticking with them!
🤣😂
Hi dear, regarding the problem of plastic lids, our latest products have optimized plastic buckles, so please don’t worry~
Make a bowens adapter please!!!!!!
better make a more focused reflector

About fan noise, in my experience I found that Colbor is a lot quieter than Zhiyun
i thought colbor announced a bowens adapter coming soon? that seems to be your biggest issue with the device?
I’m still waiting

Thank you 🙏
You did not mention that also Colbor has an adapter for full Bowens mount
Because at that time, the bowens adapter didn’t exist. They started advertising that adapter after I made this video. Otherwise I would have.
