I'm writing this for the next patient searching for answers.
I am currently in my 5 week suffering from Chronic DVTs and have 5 blocked veins and I cannot walk without crutches. I have lots of time to read and familiar myself with my condition.
What wasn't mentioned in this video was chronic DVT. Chronic means the clot as changed from acute (soft and flexible) to Chronic (harder and stiffer). Starts hardening ~7days after the clot forms.
Obviously each case is different, and I am not a doctor, but surgery is better in the first weeks then later. Sucking out jello is easier then a gummy bear. Your veins will scar over time with the stretching of a chronic dvt and will lead to PTS (Post thrombolysis syndrome) aka chronic pain for the rest of your life.
I was told it could take a month to 6 months for "the body to dissolve the clots on their own" But I was never given the option for surgery until I starting doing some research. Also was told not to have compression stockings. And I'm finding that different doctors use different treatments for their patients. I can say if you are having a hard time moving around get some custom stocking (they need to measure you, and 20-30 compression is what I received) With the stockings now I'm able to have more mobility and less time with my leg elevated.
I made the decision to get the surgery, with the inari clotretriever system. As even after a month of this, I'm done, I can't imagine 2 years with some of the patients cases.
When I was in the hospital, there were two others with DVTs. Old lady and her foot was swollen and could move around, the other was a men who just had knee surgery. Their vascular ultrasound report showed 4(male) 2(female) veins blocked, mine was 6! I would not recommended surgery for the old lady, as she could still move around and had no pain. The men would have been questionable.
Again I'm not a surgeon, a doctor or a radiologist. Form your own conclusion with your doctor and symptoms.

I have a DVT in my thigh at the moment. It is so painful that I’ve been using crutches for three and a half weeks. I have factor five Leiden and this is my third of fourth clot since 2016. I was actually already on warfarin and still got a clot. The doctors put me on horrible fragin injections that I had to do myself for 2 weeks then changed my blood thinners to Apixabsn. That seem to be giving me a heavy period: my leg is still 8cm bigger than the good one.
I’m from England so medications might have different names.

I have had a DVT in my right calf. It resolved, but it sometimes feels like it is returning. I have a heating pad that I place on LOW, and duct tape it to my calf. it helps a lot. The swelling reduces very well doing this. I suppose it slowly melts the clot, which is the safe way to resolve a DVT.

I had foot surgery to have a morton's neuroma removed in my right foot about 15 days ago which limited my movement. The calve is swollen and is very painful. According to the ultrasound, the DVT is not life threatening and not that large. How long does it take to heal and for the pain to subside?

Today it swelled and the pain became greater, no discoloration, have tingling in my foot and severe pain if I squat down. My first ultrasound confirmed a "small" clot in my femoral vein 4 weeks after knee surgery. The swelling I had in my mind was just knee surgery swelling but my girlfriend (ICU nurse) thought it looked very odd and convinced me to come into the ER. 3 months on eliquis and 1 more scan in both legs showed it was gone...
Hemotologist said I could still get another and if I do I am on meds for life. I can't wrap my mind around why I would get another one. If it was provoked, and it was small, is it possible the vein wasn't damaged permanently, or at lost not damaged enough to cause another?
Is there other natural blood thinners i could be taking?

I was diagnosed with my DVT atriums 2 years ago, i was on my anticoagulant for the time they told me to and they recommended I stay on them for life as my DVT was unprovoked, I refused and have been off them ever since. I’m trying to find a natural way I can just restore my legs health to somewhat of what it used to be and actually be able to walk longer than 30mins… anything’s that helped you pls do leave a comment, would much appreciate it!
