They have a small tank to keep the pump portable and light enough for people to move them. We have a similar gas one and you can get a detachable tank that uses an outboard boat motor type connector.

dear,
we have the same TOHATSU pump (V82ASE).
when the pump is running, not long after the indicator light lit over head and the engine died. if I open the drain valve under vacuum pumps, overhead indicator light is not lit and the engine still works. My question is: how do the actual pump work?

Its a 2 cycle engine. the oil is mixed with the fuel . so there is no place to change the oil. i could be wrong , but ive never seen one on a 2 cycle engine.
