I also upcycle and wanted so to see you in your creation. I'm an old hippie and have mde my own clothing for many years. I have not bought retail in 10 or so. Well okay, under ware and bras, I do buy new. So you lost me when you sewed on the rectangles to the long seam, , need to see the arm pit! I like to use existing hems and such too. I'll try this but think I will make it sleeveless as I need summer tops. Tight clothing is not my thing either, easy breezy , I often just wear shorts under skirts and big tops. great job! Fun stuff!

You literally just snip the side up to the armpit and then sew your rectangle from bottom front hem to back hem. It's a straight line once you snip the sides. Good for you for upcycling and buying 2nd hand!
