I have gotten at least 13½ hours on my Samsung M30 with 5000mah battery. Same on my Motorola One Power. With a 5000mah battery as well. Also at 13½ hours, there was enough battey left to push to an estimated 16 hours. I have never really actually completely drained either phone a 100%.

That’s good battery but you have to factor in that it’s 7hrs of “continuous use”. In the real world where ppl aren’t using a phone for that long continuously is a bit misleading because this doesn’t account for standby battery drain when the phone isn’t being used. Hopefully the standby battery drain is decent.
Great to see that test, would love to see it again just with the S20 Ultra at 60hz so we can see what battery life we can get if we want to try and max our battery life. Say we're at a festival similar timeframe event.

Lars Bertje Running on a lower resolution actually will most likely not reduce the power consumption by a noticeable amount as there are still physically the same amount of pixels to power. In fact it might actually draw more if there are physical scaling circuits involved when utilizing the 120Hz, vs higher resolution 60Hz

The GS20 Ultra is a $1,400 phone with bad battery life if you use that phone as advertised. That's embarrassing and shows the phones special features are gimmicks. It's bad enough the screen resolution was turned down to 1080p for the GS20 Ultra... that's the lowest screen resolution in this test. So basically in order to have good battery life you have to turn the GS20 Ultra into a mid-range phone lol

@L gd lol you are comparing which chipsets? Perhaps the exynos 9820 and snapdragon 855? If that's the case exynos is 8nm vs snapdragon's 7nm. Yeah exynos sucks I know I am using them and wished they were the snapdragon version but now that both the new exynos and snapdragon are 7nm the difference may be a little on the battery. And 30% isn't true at all It's 15% at most difference ( my cousin has sd 855 s10+, me exynos s10+, did a speedtest same everything, games,apps,emails,messages,video calls, network providers) and my exynos ended whereas his was with 7% more battery..it was at launched time as well so I don't know the numbers for the time being maybe the snapdragon got better but I doubt that..

The point is it makes it a slightly fairer test. I mean if you compared graphics cards in a pc.. And you're checking temperatures or even power usage while one is using a 244hz monitor and the others using a 144hz monitor and they are frame capped at the monitors frame refresh rate it's gonna be obvious what one gets hotter/uses more power.. The point is it would have been nice to also see an s20 ultra set at 60fps as well as one at 120.
zerocool 120hz is part of having a high price tag so it would be stupid to buy it and not using it. Diff bet Exynos and Snapdragon will just give bad image for Samsung as it has the same price tag. So i guess test you wanted will not be good for Samsung😁.

Every iPhone ever: 100% to 99% = Almost an hour. 99% to 70% = 20 minutes 70% to 10% = A couple of hours, normal depletion depending on model. 10% to 0% = An hour or two.

FPS is used to measure how many frames a game (or something like that) is producing per second (basically performance), while Hertz measures how many times a monitor refreshes an image per second. Same values, but they measure different stuff.

I have the standard Huawei Mate 20. Used it from release and after more than a year of use the battery is still more than a day even on more heavy use. So really true about the software part. EMUI is really agressive on background apps and sometimes it needs to reload some apps more often especially with the 4GB of RAM that the Mate 20 has, but it's ok it's like 1-2 sec for the app to load for the battery improvement is totally worth it! 👍 Nice video as always!
Apple really did a good job on the max, they should just throw 5000mah and 8gigs of ram and make the next pro max a absolute beast mode device, I would like to see the test done on cellular connectivity and it would of been nice to see the phone temps
ProMo it was a huge advantage because the S20 Ultra was set to 120hz, something none of the other phones have, and drains battery faster. If it were set to 60hz across all phones in the test, the S20 Ultra would’ve won (this is coming from me, an iPhone user).
I think this is pretty evenly matched. From a practical point of view, running phones on their highest refresh rates makes much sense. For the sake of comparison, you're right, but that just doesn't make sense in my opinion.

I had many "name brand phones" that let me down in so many ways, that when my LG G3's motherboard died, I decided to give Xiaomi a chance, and purchased a Redmi 4X way back in late 2016. That phone is still alive and well, and currently with my girlfriend, who had an old Samsung phone with a bloated battery and a very poor performance and display. I currently own a Pocophone F1, which I take every day to work, and it already survived so many drops, getting splashed and wet multiple times, that I have no doubt in my mind that Xiaomi is a brand that makes some of the best phones in the world with very fair prices to the end consumer.
Hey man, I actually am stuck in a big dilemma, whether to buy note 10 or to buy iPhone 11 or to buy iPhone 12 or whatever is coming up. According to me I would love to go for note 10. But these are the factors that make me reconsider my decision. 1. Most important is that social media like Instagram and Facebook and Snapchat are not as good as on iOS on Android (specially cameras on these apps). 2. The updates that Apple gives are timely and for longer period of time then Samsung. 3. The camera in itself is according to me a stronger point for Apple example its video but at the same time Samsung has some plus points like pro mode. 4. The battery optimisation that Apple has done and is doing is incredible. 5. Although the true reason that I want to go for a note is the spen but I don't know whether it'll be useful. There were other doubts but that was handled by your video. Please help...

The GS20 Ultra is a $1,400 phone with bad battery life if you use that phone as advertised. That's embarrassing and shows the phones special features are gimmicks. It's bad enough the screen resolution was turned down to 1080p for the GS20 Ultra... that's the lowest screen resolution in this test. So basically in order to have good battery life you have to turn the GS20 Ultra into a mid-range phone lol

You'll still have 10 hours roughly of battery life on the 120hz Ultra. I see zero reason to use it at 60hz ever.

@L gd lol you are comparing which chipsets? Perhaps the exynos 9820 and snapdragon 855? If that's the case exynos is 8nm vs snapdragon's 7nm. Yeah exynos sucks I know I am using them and wished they were the snapdragon version but now that both the new exynos and snapdragon are 7nm the difference may be a little on the battery. And 30% isn't true at all It's 15% at most difference ( my cousin has sd 855 s10+, me exynos s10+, did a speedtest same everything, games,apps,emails,messages,video calls, network providers) and my exynos ended whereas his was with 7% more battery..it was at launched time as well so I don't know the numbers for the time being maybe the snapdragon got better but I doubt that..

The point is it makes it a slightly fairer test. I mean if you compared graphics cards in a pc.. And you're checking temperatures or even power usage while one is using a 244hz monitor and the others using a 144hz monitor and they are frame capped at the monitors frame refresh rate it's gonna be obvious what one gets hotter/uses more power.. The point is it would have been nice to also see an s20 ultra set at 60fps as well as one at 120.

I have the standard Huawei Mate 20. Used it from release and after more than a year of use the battery is still more than a day even on more heavy use. So really true about the software part. EMUI is really agressive on background apps and sometimes it needs to reload some apps more often especially with the 4GB of RAM that the Mate 20 has, but it's ok it's like 1-2 sec for the app to load for the battery improvement is totally worth it! 👍 Nice video as always!
Apple really did a good job on the max, they should just throw 5000mah and 8gigs of ram and make the next pro max a absolute beast mode device, I would like to see the test done on cellular connectivity and it would of been nice to see the phone temps

ProMo it was a huge advantage because the S20 Ultra was set to 120hz, something none of the other phones have, and drains battery faster. If it were set to 60hz across all phones in the test, the S20 Ultra would’ve won (this is coming from me, an iPhone user).
I think this is pretty evenly matched. From a practical point of view, running phones on their highest refresh rates makes much sense. For the sake of comparison, you're right, but that just doesn't make sense in my opinion.

Nah. I got it 4 months ago after having a note 8 for 2 years and the battery is still not enough for me. I would pretty much consistently get 6-6.5hrs of SOT. I need at least 8 hrs of SOT (ideally 10 lol). Gotta wait for the note 20..... Hopefully

That phone is still alive and well, and currently with my girlfriend, who had an old Samsung phone with a bloated battery and a very poor performance and display.
I currently own a Pocophone F1, which I take every day to work, and it already survived so many drops, getting splashed and wet multiple times, that I have no doubt in my mind that Xiaomi is a brand that makes some of the best phones in the world with very fair prices to the end consumer.

I actually am stuck in a big dilemma, whether to buy note 10 or to buy iPhone 11 or to buy iPhone 12 or whatever is coming up.
According to me I would love to go for note 10. But these are the factors that make me reconsider my decision.
1. Most important is that social media like Instagram and Facebook and Snapchat are not as good as on iOS on Android (specially cameras on these apps).
2. The updates that Apple gives are timely and for longer period of time then Samsung.
3. The camera in itself is according to me a stronger point for Apple example its video but at the same time Samsung has some plus points like pro mode.
4. The battery optimisation that Apple has done and is doing is incredible.
5. Although the true reason that I want to go for a note is the spen but I don't know whether it'll be useful.
There were other doubts but that was handled by your video.
Please help...
