Miss Korea is very beautiful
Her crowning changed Miss Universe. She wanted to bring attention to her homeland so she went there to compete for the Miss Thailand title knowing she could possibly win as she is fluent in English as well as Thai. She used her reign to promote education and child health programs in Thailand and around the world and really represented herself, Thailand and the Miss Universe organization well.

There have been too many times when the crown was unceremoniously shoved, clunked down, too big (Dayanara Torres) fiddled with or toppled.

Miss Thailand, Porntip Nakhirunkanok, now known as Bui Simon, was the frontrunner from the beginning. The crown was hers to lose and she did nothing that evening to warrant that. She actually solidified why she was the frontrunner. She rightfully deserved to win and did, becoming one of the best Miss Universe's in history.
Miss Thailand top score from answer the question in English , best evening gown , & swimsuit .She won the national costume competition too. Miss Korea is also beautiful but she cann't speak English.
Could've been an amazing year for Korea had they won MU that year because the 1988 Olympics was held in Korea as well.
