As someone who's been following Doechii for a lil minute, listened to all of her previous projects (before TDE), this is definitely a showcase of her own style. But she is a creative chameleon and very multifaceted, so she can find all the right pockets for any type of production thrown at her fs.

And I completely agree with the chameleon part. It wasn’t a knock to compare her to The Game because he does the same thing. We also listened to her prior projects before this one to get more of a grasp on how she is as an artist. We’re hopeful to see where her career goes from here! - Chase
I would compare her more to Missy than Nicki or Doja. I don't know why everyone gives credit to Nicki and Kendrick for inventing flow switches. I see the comparison with Isaiah Rashad's production, but that's really it. She sings better than Doja and Nicki. And her subject matter is different than both of theirs. Just let Doechii be Doechii.
I don’t know about sing better than Doja, but you mostly agree with me on the points I made/felt. I never said the subject matter was the same though. So like I said, we mostly agree. I just know she’s not fully herself YET because they keep calling this a mixtape. If they were brave enough to show who she is, they would’ve called it an album. Like I said in the video, this is a sample platter of what she can do. - Chase
@BeyondBeatsandCulture I don't know. I think it's a little strange to compare her to them so strongly. It erases so many artists that came before all of them. I kind of see Doja and Doeechii as a female Redman and Method Man. They both have comedic bars and flow switches like them. All I'm saying is that if Doechii is copying other artists, so do all the other artists you claim she's imitating. And TDE has in-house production. She's not at the level yet to ask Pharrell for a beat.
You guys need to think of it this way: this mixtape was for EVERYBODY. Men and woman - it was something for all generations. This was something everyone can take from - there’s no way one artist can please every generation and every age group. This project was well executed - there’s NO FEMALE rapper out there right now who can make a mixtape in a month. She wrote ALL her songs. SZA didn’t have nothing to do with this project. I would suggest that you guys do more research about her before you speak about her to get a full understanding.
This mixtape is not for everybody. Not any single piece of music is meant for everybody. And why did you bring up SZA? She wasn’t on this mixtape if I’m remembering correctly. And if EVERYBODY had to do research on whatever they’re reviewing, most reviews wouldn’t exist which would eliminate a lot of people from making content or having a job. Not all reviews HAVE to have research done ahead of time. We’re giving our opinions based on what we heard and know, we aren’t creating a documentary on it. A review is opinion based. - Chase
