- The lost 2016 Bluey pilot has been found. In this Bluey pilot, we're introduced to a slightly alternate version of Bluey as Bandit pushes her on the swing. However, Bluey creator Joe Brumm claims that this clip wasn't safe for kids TV when it came out. What happened behind the scenes? How does this lost Bluey pilot compare to the Bluey episodes from Ludo Studio today?

I’ve been waiting for a year to find this pilot, I wasn’t expecting Bandit to be tired and distracted like that, but I didn’t expect Bluey to be younger either (because she’s in a stroller) so I guess Bandit was just tired because Bluey has a lot of energy and Bingo is still a baby (Bingo and Chili probably didn’t even exist yet, but it would make sense is Bingo was a baby)

Fun Fact: In Bluey, The A$5 bills in the show are similar to actual Australian $5 bills, but have a Corgi as the Queen
The queen died so they have a king now
It's funny how they had a creative way of putting the queen into their show but Peppa pig didn't

Believe it or not, I've never seen Bluey.
But from what I've heard, it's actually really special for a modern cartoon aimed towards preschoolers.
And I can appreciate that.
It's nice to see preschool cartoons that don't have soulless babies singing nursery rhymes.

Is actually written as a "parents" show, for adults with kids. This is extremely apparent in season 3, especially watching the uncensored versions
Fun fact: Bluey was originally intended for adults, as a show to encourage good parenting, or just a comfort show. But the kids loved it, so the audience was redirected to children.

I mean I think people of all ages like it though. Even if it is FOR kids, it has reached teenagers to young adults and a lot of people enjoy it

Lost media can be lost due to poor archieving, people of that time didnt have an interest archieving said media, or its so unknown and obsucre that it got lost due to new media burying it but you dont have to worry that bluey's pilot will get lost its now on youtube free to watch and if people got interes in the pilot and searched for it, it could easily be found

You can definitely see how the feedback from this weird first pilot helped guide the development of Bluey into the show we all know and love today. Bandit went from a bored, apathetic, exhausted parent whose negligence endangers both himself and his daughter, to a wonderful, emotionally intelligent dad who genuinely loves his children and actively engages in their play. And by moving away from cartoon physics, the show became more grounded and thus realistic.
You don't have to push yourself to post every day if you don't want to, because no matter what we appreciate the work you put into making us happy
It's so amazing for lost media to be found after years of hiding. I also love Bandit, he's got these 5 things that no other dad has. Love, care, patience, understanding, and a high pain tolerance if you know what I mean. He is my #1 favorite character in the entire show and an inspiration for when I become a dad.

If I remember correctly, Saberspark mentioned in his bluey video that there were some episodes missing on Disney + which is were kinda weird like bandit trying to figure out how hard it is being pregnant. I think all the episodes missing on D+ are on yt tho.

Those are not lost medias. The episode Dad Baby (Season 2, Episode 13) is banned in the US and other countries. There is currently 41 episodes in Season 3, but only 27 of them are on Disney+, the reason why the other 14 isn’t on there is because they came out in June 2022 while the other 27 came out through September 2021-December 2021 so they’ve been out for over a year. Although, there is one June 2022 episode that is released on Disney+, it’s called Smoochy Kiss. I’m not quite sure why it got released before all the other June 2022 episodes but yeah. Sorry for the long paragraph, I just wanted to clear things up 😅

Details I love about the pilot. Bluey was younger, probably closer to Bingos age.
Also she looked more like her dad which, imo, is adorable.
The pilot felt really surreal, a lot less grounded than the Bluey we know. Like an alternate universe Bob's Burgers.
It's cool to see hidden or lost media! We get to see what could've been in a series or movie! And this one in particular really shows. The only thing concerning me in that pilot was the swing attack and how high Bluey was going. And Makenzi and Rusty just appeared and danced. And there's one more pilot that I saw before this one and when you compare them side by side, it really shows how much the show evolved into the Bluey we all know and love today! I love the show too! It's filled with life, fun, entertaining, and beautiful moments and it's so good!
I am so glad I recently started watching this show! It's legitimately a great series. Extremely charming and amazingly well written.

Also, I think that Rusty's name in the 2016 Pilot use to be Mackenzie. Since, Bluey said Mackenzie when they showed up.

I love that THIS is considered too violent for TV. This is EXACTLY what I wanted to do when I was her age. Bandit's depiction is weird in this, yeah, but the general hate or somewhat vitriol the pilot faced was just unwarranted.
I recently started becoming more into bluey, it sucks disney treats this show horribly here in the US.

I knew that, right at the very end, the pilot shows a particularly...stronger tone that was absolutely NOWHERE in the actual show from the episodes that I have watched so far.
It was edited with memes, and I felt two emotions and thought processes at the same time at that moment.
As it goes without saying, seeing Bandit the way he is here also feels pretty cursed.

From my perspective, this almost feels like a prequel to the show- we’ve *never* seen Bluey in a stroller, so maybe this was when she was younger?
Bingo wasn’t born yet, and Bandit was still new to parenting- and he is *exhausted* because of it
I have four things to say about the pilot.
1. It was found! Oh my god this is a dream!
2. Bandit's attitude seems a bit off compared to the actual Bandit, bored, tired, just playing mobile games and not putting that much attention to Bluey, but then I think on how he was in Whale Watching, just 10 times.
3. The fact that Mackenzie and Rusty come out of nowhere to see Bluey AND default dance in that instant is too much for me, that took me unexpected and I laughed a good while. Also maybe they were supposed to be Bluey's gang as they are the first children to appear, along that may explain their apparition in the 2018 pilot intro, and them having some episodes centered.
4. I see why this was not the vision they had, I mean who would let their children swing a whole round? About Bandit being hit, that still happens in the show so there was no problem there I think.
The 2016 Bluey pilot really is away from the vision they had, but it was fundamental to make Bluey what it is now, and also it's story.

I always thought a pilot is just the first episode of a show.
@@RB01.10 no the pilot episode is like a “test” episode to see if the show they want to make would do well with audiences. Some pilot episodes don’t fit in with the cannon of the rest of the show since usually it’s a rough idea to get the feel and tone of the show and see how well it does with the people to have viewed it
