What you have to know is that the first two episodes covers roughly 120 pages of the first book, and Percy is at camp for about a week before he leaves, but because they're condensing a 400 page back down to 8 episodes they have to keep things moving at a brisker pace. So, it seems like they're just throwing Percy in the deep end, when in the book had more time to digest things.
I honestly think it is pretty well paced so far all things considered.
"Pay attention" "he should be able to hear them", naw the kid has ADHD, if I was picking at a leaf I'd get ambushed too.

By the way, the reason why Chiron's horse movement look so real is that they are actually not CGI. They had the actor ride a horse for every single of his Chiron scenes, and the only CGI-ing they did was remove the horse's had and move the actor's torso forward digitally. The bottom.part of the horse is allreal horse.

I'm surprised you've noticed tje metal braces on Chiron's left leg. I had completely overlooked that because I was so focused on all the surroundings and seeing Camp Halfblood come to life. 😅 Rick Riordan actually recently gave an explanation by quoting from one of these ancient writings by Ovid etc. (I can't really remember who it was particularly). In ancient Greek mythology, Chiron was the trainer of Hercules and Hercules once accidentally shot him with an arrow, leaving his leg impaired forever.

So, if you wonder why didn't they know his father was Poseidon, there are like hundreds of minor water gods, gods of rivers, water spirits, maybe rain or other, and since big three children ban everyone just thought he's son of some small river god

5:50 Actually Chiron doesn't have that time - he was specifically looking for Percy, as they all were kinda already in talks with Sally. He took time off camp to work with Grover to secure Percy's arrival. As there were already signs that Percy would be a powerful demigod, which means more trouble than usual. Knowing Chiron - he likely already knew Poseidon is Percy's father, either through his own sources or through intuition. There has been few occasions through the series, where everyone kinda knows the parent, but they aren't allowed to say it, due to the ancient laws making it a potential punishable offence.

Hades is way better than Zeus and Poseidon in mythology. Like the only bad thing he really did was kidnap Persephone, but you could blame Eros/Cupid for the because he only fell madly in love with her because he got shot by an arrow.
And even though he kidnapped her, he treated her like a complete gentleman, and behaved the complete opposite of everything Persephone had been led to believe by her mother Demeter. He is literally the best husband Persephone could ever have asked for.

@@kevinnorwood8782 Not only that, if Persephone wasn’t kidnapped by Hades, there wouldn’t be the changing of the seasons every year, representing Persephone travelling from the underworld, to earth, and vice Vera. Plus, Persephone wouldn’t have been able to fulfil the prophecy of becoming queen of the underworld and becoming a dark feminine archetype.

Incidentally, regarding the name Half-Blood, Percy encounters a guy that he thinks is a demigod, so he refers to him as a half blood. The guy is mixed race and isnt initiated with the greek god world and is basically like, "Um TF did you just call me?"
