Muchas gracias. The little stop for the end of the counterweight bar was in the with the included tools. The printed instructions make no mention of it. I've been a little hesitant to use my new telescope because I know that in the black dark, I'm going to grab the wrong knob and a big weight will fall with nothing to slow it down. My unbroken toes extend their deep gratitude.
Can someone help me if I send a pic? I did something wrong and not sure what it is. For the most part, everything is put together, but it's not working right.
@mezoooadel you need to put your lowest power eyepiece in the telescope and centre something in the distance like the tip of a church spire a building apex of the roof and then centre the view and then alter the little set screws on the finder to tweek it in alignment with the main telescope. Once you have got the main scope and finder scope aligned, you can accurately align both scopes using polaris as polaris doesn't move very quickly. I use polaris every time to align my telescope and finder.
Is the barlow lens not already inserted? If so, around the 15:00 min mark of the video you will see where it needs to go. Just ensure you unscrew the two little screws sufficiently.
The mounting rings are upside-down sir . The black plastic bit that is currently on top is your actual wingnut. The round one you used to mount it is for other things like adding a camera or light to the top of the telescope. Beyond that good video. Never mind you made a comment on it but i am leaving this comment for other's so the hopeful don't make the same mistake.
@@astronomyscopeYour volume is fine. Being American and familiar with telescopes I was able to follow along, but a non British speaker might have difficulty following this technical topic at your quick rate of speech.
Omg, not another Celestron Powerseeker 127 EQ. That is a trash telescope with a box of trash accessories and a complete waste of money. For what that telescope costs, one can buy a good pair of binoculars and a red light torch and planesphere. Ed Ting on his TH-cam pod cast has done a complete review of that telescope and it completely failed. If anyone wants to know how bad that telescope is, go on one of the telescope forum sites and just say that you are thinking of buying this telescope and then sit back and get ready for the storm of do not buy it. There are so many complaints about the Powerseeker 127 EQ because it is next to useless. If possible, save up a little more money and purchase a dobsonian instead.
@pluto-nw5de of course, I can use an equatorial mount. I have been using one since 1980, when I purchased my first refractor, a Prinz Astral, which I still have. I also have a Skywatcher EQ3-2 for my 90mm f11.1 refractor, an EQ5 for my Altair Astro 102mm f11 Starwave refractor, and a NEQ6 Pro to mount my Istar 150mm f8 R35 refractor, so yes I can use an EQ mount and manually polar align it and use setting circles too.

Hello,
After I setup the telescope, and putting the moon in the center of the finder, I saw nothing. What do you think I made wrong?
The moon went away
