Deer Abbey Mintlaw

Between Mintlaw and New Deer, Deer Abbey stands at the road side. It was thought to have been founded in 580AD by St Columba and his nephew St Drostan.
It is said to have been once the home of The Book of Deer or LEABHAR DHEIR one of Scotlands most precious manuscripts.
