just curious... aside from running lights how are you able to "legally" run the ski before daylight? According to my research pwcs are not supposed to run at night in fl even if its properly lighted. Just curious if you have a workaround or what the details are. Thanks good content!

If only the seas were this calm off the NC/SC coast. 90% of the time they are choppy and I fish off my jet ski but you have to not be bothered by being "tossed around". RARE you can get a calm day like you guys had. Guess the laws are different there because here you can't go out on a jet ski until after sunrise and have to be back in at sunset.
One of these is going to be my next mode of fishing crafts! Have not decided about what I’m going to buy, or type of pwc, but this is absolutely next for me!

I cut of the the top of the middle holder and use heavy duty tie straps to fasten the holder to the rear loading handle on the back seat. works great!! reel will get soaked though, needs cover

Well this video makes me feel a lot better. I'll be at staying a week on the Mississippi coast in June. I've taken my Hobie TI sailing out to Horn Island in the past, but this year I'm bringing my Jet Ski for the 8 mile trip. The Horn Island trip is a small trip compared to yours.

A troll motor to keep you in one spot and keep the engine hrs down and some tubbies built on each side would be a great addition to the Skis and more cooler storage. Other than that great content cool video.

That's what I want to do. A hell of a lot cheaper than a boat. You can get all the way back in the mangroves. And after fishing all day you don't have to paddle back in. Or if don't want fish . You can still go out tear it up the water. I'm getting one definitely.
Great job on rigging your ski. Horrible choices on safety. Wearing a proper PFD (and keeping it zipped up) at all times is a must on a ski. Also you need to keep that radio on you somewhere. If a storm blows in or for whatever reason you get knocked off your ski your radio does you no good.
In New Zealand we can fish from dawn till dusk jetski or tinnie just dont get into trouble rescue guys will roll their eyes shake their heads and might foot you the bill if you were just plain stupid.

The fishing ski is a great way to be close to the water while doing all the usual boating things, at much less cost and ease of storage and maintenance. I had the big boats, but much prefer the fun and ease of the ski. I am currently rigging a fishing and diving 2019 yamaha ski with underwater scooter holder and a few other surprises. Anything that floats can sink. Jetskis usually sink due to rider abuse or ignorance such as hitting another object, leaving the drain plugs out, etc. 500 + hours riding Kawasakis and SeaDoos.
Haluwazone even without proper care it wouldn’t sink. New skis are extremely reliable especially Yamaha but I would recommend doing all the usual maintenance things like brushing with soap and water after and flushing the engine etc...

if you look at some setups, they just strap right on the back. if you want a serious fishing setup im sure theres drilling involved
