I may be eight months late to the conversation, but I am emotionally invested… Yes! To the toilet lid thing! Nothing grosses me out more than flushing with it open.
I literally made a little piece of paper that says “ please close lid before flushing” and folded it like a flap and hung it from the top of the tank so it hangs over the lever and there’s no way you can flush without moving that paper out of the way 💯

It blows my mind how so many homes don’t have access to the plumbing behind walls, so that when it leaks your have to cut the walls out. Trailers have spots that you unscrew and get access to them all. It’s a big help!
Now I want to hear the rest of the story about straddling the toilet backwards??🤣🤣🤣. On another note you guys are doing a beautiful job! ❤️

That blue toilet is haunting you 👻 😂. My heart skipped a beat when you said you might use the old blue toilet, but obviously it wouldn’t go with the beautiful tile and vanity.

Plumbing is always a bitch. After renovating a bathroom and having a hairline crack in the tank, I always buy one piece toilets now. I know it was a struggle, but you're getting close to the end and it looks amazing.

Girl. I am the same about the toilet. It’s a huge distance the spray reach from the flush. If it gets flushed open I disinfect everything and put out fresh towels once they leave.
I was getting flashbacks to when my bf and I were renovating our new home😍😭 everything was a struggle😂 but always definitely worth the outcome! Loved the tile color! 👏🏽🙌🏽👌🏽 also really like seeing Andrew speak more and get more comfortable being on TH-cam! 👍🏽

What a blessing in disguise that Andrew forgot the plumbing for the toilet! Everything happens for a reason. I can't wait to see this space finished! Have y'all decided on doors dividing the two main rooms yet?
Yes absolutely a blessing in disguise!! Isn't is so strange how things like that happen? Thank you for watching! I am still pushing for doors but Andrew likes the open feel. We will wait and see how we like it after the spaces are complete and possibly install doors later.
@@aspenackley maybe sliding barn doors so it can still be open and out of the way but give the option of dividing the spaces? It would add some coziness with that fireplace!

I always remind my guest to close the lid, it’s way too disgusting to the flush with the lid open. In Taiwan we have squat toilets (I forgot what their called) it’s nice you don’t have to wipe the toilet seat but I alway have to rush out the bathroom stall after I flush😂😂. Loved the video ❤ you guys are amazing. Also calling your dog another name is something I do all the time😂😂

The way you speak about the toilet seat and the towel placement...that is me to a TEE!! Nothing grosses me out more, it's literally why I won't keep towels near the toilet and why I ALWAYS close the lid before I flush and get so grossed out by others who leave it open. I truly thought I may be one of a very few...thanks for being on the 'team'! Haha...beautiful bathroom! Love your channel!
I love how those Artisan Aqua tiles look!! Those different shades were hard to see in the sun when you held like 2 but MAN.. all together on the wall like that looks GORGEOUS!!

The shower tile looks so good. I was unsure about the difference in colour and stuff when you were showing them separate but it looks soooo good up and I feel it brings a nice colour and light to the toilet
We have a pretty Wayfair gold set of faucets. Except when they made them as a knock off of American Standard they didn’t engineer in the capability to flip the valve to allow the knobs to turn correctly (same error in 2 sets). Moral of the story Wayfair plumbing stuff looks pretty but it’s junk don’t do it. I said that as soon as I saw you pull the shower faucet out of the box. Return it and buy something made by a name brand it’s worth it.

Buying “gold” trim is a nightmare, the colors are always different EVEN FROM THE SAME BRAND, ( unless it’s expensive brand name) even mid price it’s a nightmare so plan everything together to avoid that mess

When you said Wayfair, I knew it was going to go wrong. I have never purchased anything from Wayfair that didn’t need replacing like two or three times.
That’s crazy!! We’ve ordered a bunch of times from Wayfair in the past (even the ensuite shower faucet is from them) and we have never had any issues 😩

Ok re: the whole toilet seat down thing. I did not realize how gross it was to keep it open, like the thought never crossed my mind until my friend recently trashed someone for keeping it open while flushing LOL. So I'm doing my best to change my ways but it's a hard habit to break when you've spent your entire life flushing with it open. Now that I've been corrected, I totally understand how disgusting it is hahaha. I love that you and Andrew are on the same page because getting my husband to change his ways now is gonna be next to impossible.
I would look on Etsy to see if there are fun signs explaining to please flush when the toilet is closed, this is a HUGE pet peeve of mine as well, it’s just unsanitary! It’s all coming together amazingly well 🤍🫶🏽🫶🏽

From several sources: the water can spray up to 7 feet. If that's not enough, in Feng shui, keeping the seat open drains away positive energy.

We were soooo close to!! We took another look at it to see how it would be in the space but it's in rough shape on the inside of the bowl...even heavy duty cleaners couldn't make it look better so it will continue living in our garage 🥲

The gold tone doesn't matter as long as it's not close to one another. No one will notice as long as it's not to far off color. Easy. I've Remodeled several houses and changed out finishes that's almost the same color. Never stress about it just roll with, especially when the finishes are as nice as yours 😊
10000000% agree with the lid situation. Aside from germs, the chances of things falling in there are astronomically higher if it's open all the time. Also pets playing in it. All the things. So gross.
